The uneven ground of the grove was hard to maneuver through. Nova kept tripping over holes in the ground made by small beasts. The thorns of sharp bushes cut her skin open. The pain and healing was nothing compared to using holy magic. She tripped on another hole in the ground. She nded on someone’s soft body.“You see I'm irresistible, women just throw themselves at me,” Juniper said as they caught Nova in their arms. “You are joining us?” Juniper asked suggestively when Beornia grabbed Nova from behind. Beornia’s arms were a little rough as she picked Nova up. She gently sat Nova on the ground right next to her. When Nova looked up Beornia was gring at Juniper.“Stop teasing her, you might get us all killed!” Beornia finally said angrily.Juniper just shrugged in response, nonchantly leaning against a tree. Sapphire put her hand on Beornia’s shoulder reassuringly.“How?” Glyndwr asked.“If Nova breaks her vow of celibacy everything around her will get destroyed with her,” Juniper expined.
Glyndwr nodded. Sapphire’s eyes lit up with understanding. “Why would a succubus swear an oath of celibacy to the goddess?” Sapphire asked, confused. She quickly put both hands over her mouth while her eyes darted around gauging the others reaction.“I had no desire to have sex. I swore the oath on impulse,” Nova responded, “anyway my pn is to charm the huskarls into an orgy for a day…”“If you ever try that on people I will kill you myself,” Beornia cut Nova off with a determined glint in her eyes.“I can easily give the huskarls my blessing to power you up,” Sapphire volunteered as she gripped Beornia’s shoulder tighter.“Step two of my pn would be to charm the monsters and demons in the town, so that the people can easily fight their way to the huskarls,” Nova continued “You would reveal yourself to too many people if you did that,” Juniper said, knocking down Nova’s pn. “Instead I will convince the thane to work with us, and you Nova only use your goddess given holy magic!” Juniper stressed the st part.
They silently returned to the camp. The grove soon gave way to the pnt tents. “I see you have calmed down your beast-kin. I hope she won’t cause any trouble,” Wilfrith said when he saw Juniper.Sapphire bared her teeth at Wilfrith with a low growl escaping her throat. Her ears fttened against her head. Nova and Glyndwr petted Sapphire's head to calm her down.“Please don’t instigate my friend,” Juniper said as their eyes narrowed at the thane.“I meant no disrespect,” Wilfrith backtracked. He received more gres from Sapphire’s friend’s“We have actually come up with a sound pn to save the townsfolk and limit our own casualties,” Juniper changed the topic.
The thane led them into his tent. It was very comfortable. The pnts that made up the tent were soft and very firm. Even the floor was made of soft pnts. Being very tired Nova took off her cloak, rolled it up and id it on the floor. She stripped down to her tunic. As Nova id her head on the pillow Sapphire did the same. The succubus pulled the wolf-kin into an embrace before the tter nodded off. Even in her half human form the half werewolf was very adorable. Sleeping with a smile on her face while tucked against Nova’s body.
Glyndwr, Juniper and Beornia were finalizing their pns with the thane. Their voices got further away as Nova fell asleep.
Erotic dreams of domination pgued Nova’s psyche as she slept, the primal urge to dominate others grew in intensity. Nova forced herself awake as the nightmares became too much for her. Nova’s cloak ensnared her. Slime Nova deftly unwrapped itself, as Nova stretched.
“Sleep well?” Wilfrith asked while sitting crossed legged on the floor holding a waterskin. “Not really,” Nova responded.“My youngest daughter was prone to nightmares as well,” Wilfrith tried to make a connection.“I thought all of those that served the Maiden Goddess were like her?” Nova asked, confused“I became a maiden priest when my wife died. If she hadn’t pursued me I would have become a priest as a child,” Wilfrith expined with a nostalgic smile on his face.“What happened?” Nova asked curiously.“We need to focus on the present,” Wilfrith shut down Nova’s inquiry, “We all have to execute our duty with haste lest we die. You will keep the trolls and the demon off us. Understood?” Wilfrith said.“When do we attack?” Nova asked.“Once the fertility priestess completes the rituals,” Wilfrith replied.Nova nodded as she donned her armor.
They waited in retive silence. Nova gasped everytime more erotic power entered her. Her primal urges grew as she accumuted more power. “What do you even do? Except for criticize me of course,” Nova asked Echo to relieve her boredom “I do a lot. I transte everything you read and hear into a nguage you understand. I transte everything you say or write into a nguage others can understand. I interfere so seamlessly that only the very adept even notice what I’m doing,” Echo decred proudly.“So I could keep a journal only I can read?” Nova asked.“Some other demons and people that have learned your original world's nguage could still read it. You can always write things down with your illusion magic in a way only you can read it,” Echo expined.
A very short huskarl with a long brown and gray beard entered the shelter, “We are ready,” He informed Wilfrith. “Champion,” The dwarf nodded respectfully to Nova before promptly leaving.Nova followed Wilfrith out of the shelter. The huskarls stood in a line grasping two handed axes. A few had longbows. The archers wore helmets that did not impede their vision. All of them had swords hanging from their belts and a shield strapped to their backs. The dwarf held a recurve bow unlike the other archers they had no quiver hanging from their belt. The huskarls marched up the hill in an orderly double file line. The archers including the dwarf ascended the hill in a skirmishing formation. As a sphere of holy magic cleared the fog up to twenty meters in front of them.“I will keep the monsters from closing in on you,” Beornia said as she approached Nova with Sapphire in tow. “Don’t overdo it,” Sapphire said with concern as she gave Nova a hug.“I will keep you safe. You are the only one here without armor,” Nova said with resolve.
Juniper and Glyndwr marched apart from the formation with the thane.
As they marched up the hill a few stray goblins appeared through the fog.An arrow appeared nocked into the dwarf’s bow before they drew it. “Where did his arrow come from?” Nova asked surprised as she watched the arrow hit a goblin in the head.“Stigandr is one of the bishop’s thanes. They also are one of the rare spatial mages. They can store a lot of supplies in their subspace including arrows. I have read that most skilled mages can stop the passage of time in their subspaces. They were a merchant that travelled the world until one of the bishop’s thanes saved them from a hopeless encounter with monsters. A debt of gratitude over time developed into a romantic retionship,” Sapphire ranted with excitement.
The few monsters that stood in the path of the advancing company fell to arrows before their numbers could accumute. I want to feel the warmth of the sun again Nova thought as she surveyed the dreary fog. Sapphire gave Nova a weak smile as she noticed her dispirited look. Rain suddenly started falling from the sky. The sound of thunder echoed in the distance. Nova shivered as the rain made her feel colder. “About time it rained we have had a bit of a drought for a while,” Sapphire mused. The rain fell thicker and with more force as the town wall came into view.“It couldn’t have come at a worse time. My gambeson is soaked through now,” Beornia groused while she moved her arms around to test her mobility.“Mine is waterlogged too,” Nova responded, annoyed at the development. It seemed the only one in the whole company that wasn’t negatively affected by the rain was Sapphire. She was catching raindrops with her tongue. Sapphire inhaled deeply then exhaled. “It smells like lightning. My magic should be more powerful in this weather!” Sapphire excimed in excitement.
When the archers got close to the postern they gave their bows and arrows to Stigandr. The dwarf deftly made them disappear into their subspace. The archers drew their swords, and took the kite shields off their backs. Wilfrith muttered a few words bathing the huskarls weapons and shields in holy magic. Nova’s bill and Beornia spear glowed as well. The archers cautiously approached the postern, and disappeared into the hall behind the gate.
