King Lionel stumbled back and grunted, looking down at his hand and noticing the severe degree of burns. For his finger specifically, it was charred and broken off upon contact.

  Lord Regina went for another hit but with being a split second faster, King Lionel conjured a ball of light and this time he ate it. He dodged her attack and held her by her arm.

  “I didn’t want to use this, but I have no-“

  Lord Regina interrupted him by using her left hand to land an overhead punch. King Lionel let go of his grip and bounced off of the ground. Lord Regina jumped in the air, punching him straight back. When he was stuck in the snow he tried to conjure another ball of light but she landed of him and pinned his arm. Astonished by her being able to keep up with his speed and even blitz him, King Lionel seen a flash of a woman that he had the photograph of. Soon the image faded for blackness when Lord Regina punched him in the face causing him to cough up blood. Strangely enough though Lord Regina’s attacks were not charring his body anymore. She took notice in this but decided to not let up.

  “KING! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN YOUR PROMISE TO BARBARA?!” Theiamourn’s voice rung louder than the blows.

  Lord Regina looked up to see her lying on one of King Lionel’s platforms. “She is the cause of what led us to this very moment”!

  She punched King Lionel one last time and launched herself off of him, with Theiamourn smiling. He reached out and grabbed her leg before she had gotten away. He again conjured another ball of light and ate it, then pulled Lord Regina back to him before launching her into the air.

  “JUST ONE MORE WILL BE ENOUGH MY KING, THIS VICTORY IS YOURS BY FATE!” Theiamourn shouted out.

  Before Lord Regina could recover, King Lionel did just that and ate a third ball of light. Half of his blonde hair turned into a deep black. Lord Regina paid him no attention and was driven by her feelings to now pursue Theiamourn. She shot through the air with flames that melted the snow around her, when she appeared in front of Theiamourn her smile made Lord Regina even more furious. King Lionel popped up behind her and conjured a wall of light in front of Theiamourn, then a wall made of black smoke in front of him.

  He brung his hands together and the two walls smashed into Lord Regina.

  Blood spurted out from all sides of the walls as Lord Regina cried out in pain. King Lionel punched the black wall and launched Lord Regina through the wall of light to the ground. She got up quickly but King Lionel near instantly appeared in front of her and picked her up by her throat. He slid her across the ground then smashed her head into it. Lord Regina kicked him before he could grab her again and she came out of the ground with a punch to his chest. He slid back a couple of inches but still remained composed.

  “That light…it’s not an issue but that black smoke he used felt like I was ripping apart!” She thought to herself as she breathed heavily. She did try to use her flames to protect herself, but it was as though it had no effect around the smoke whatsoever.

  King Lionel smiled, rushing towards Lord Regina where both of them were engaging in close combat, almost equally in strength.

  “That planet needs me, whatever it takes I’ll keep burning…” Lord Regina thought, taking one of King Lionel’s punches to the rib cage.

  “This power is consuming, in about five minutes I’ll be in a tough position…” King Lionel thought taking a flame blast to his chest.

  King Lionel shrouded his hands with his light then enveloped the black around it, Lord Regina made an immense ball of fire around hers.

  Both of them of them attacked but both simultaneously dodged each other.

  Then they turned around and clashed fist to fist.

  At first, it was like time was at a standstill. Both of them looked at each other and Ling Lionel’s eyes widened. It was like they felt the emotions of each other. He felt the immense pressure of the love Lord Regina had for her son, her village, Earth-9 as a whole.

  Everything he felt from her, angered him more and more.

  Lord Regina felt the malice and darkness around him, but through all of it there was a faint warm feeling.

  “Regina, I do wish things could’ve been different.” King Lionel’s voice sounded in Lord Regina’s mind.

  “You know that wouldn’t have happened. You are nothing but evil”.

  Both of them were launched on their backs by the explosion of their attack. The crater in the middle of them was bigger than the size of building they were in. Feeling immense pain, both of them looked down to their hands and seen that both had lost one. King Lionel losing his right, and Lord Regina losing her left. She used her fire to quickly cauterize her wound and got up to continue her fight. King Lionel stood up and replaced his wound with a hand made up of light and his black smoke mixed together.

  “You Regina…have angered a God that is ignorant of mercy”.
