*Alice's POV

  There was something unbelievably graceful about the way he took dowwo animals. I was careful to not e too close though. He was still uhe influence of that green eyed freak and I khat if he catches me, I'm dead. My talent gave me a little advantage here. I couldn't watch Jasper very well through his decisions, but I could watch him through my own. Keeping safe distao not let him notice me, I made a decision to go closer and therefore was able to watch him in my vision. Of course it always ended dark when he did notice me.

  I swam all the way to the Cape Scott provincial park, just to be sure nobody could follow me. "Ugh, damn it." I was drenched. If only I paid more attention to where I'm going, I wouldn't have to go for a night swim. I scolded myself.

  "That. Is. None of your business!" Growled Marii by my ear. "You don't o know why. All you were supposed to do was help Edward to safely isote and if possible get the girl to me. A, you not only failed to do either of those things. You let Edward die, caused one to bee her damn guardians, and another to hunt yourself and any unfamiliar vampire in the area." He pulled on my neck, turning me around, making me look at him. His crimson eyes were burning with anger. "What's more... now you nearly killed her." Marii's voice was a dangerous low growl again.

  "And? Do-n't you ...w-ant to k-ill her?" I mao ask over his squeezing of my throat.

  He forcefully let go of me, pushing me away from him. "You are as stupid as they e." Sed the elder vampire. "If I wanted her dead I would not o be so damn careful! But you... what do I do with you? You not only deemed yourself a liability, you wainst my pns." Spoke Marii thoughtfully as he stalked closer to me again. "I should get rid of you."

  "I wouldn't do that if I were you." I warned him calmly.

  "Seriously? And why is that?" He asked, but obviously not too ied in the answer, gripping my neck again, pressio a wall.

  "Volturi will punish you." I said matter of factly.

  My reply was funny to him. "Girl, I stopped g what Volturi want long ago."

  "Since Edward died, Aro lost one of his precious talents. Imagine how unhappy he'll be if you take another one from him. He will hunt you down." His humor slowly dissipated. The guy was aware I'm right.

  His hesitation gave me time to take him fully in. Marii must have been turned around his thirties. He had a well built, sexy body and since he wore bck t-shirt, tucked in his blue jeans with a light leather belt, I could appreciate the refined muscles on his arms.   I was finally able to tell Jasper what was on my mind. I wao expin it to him so many times before but could not get the words out. "I uand my love. But you o learn that you are not alone anymore. I told you before and I'll tell you again. I am here and I will always be here, unless you don't wao be." repeated Jasper and I covered his mouth, worried he'd tinue on that idea.

  "Our promise..." I reminded him quietly of our promise to not talk about leaving again. "The thought of you really gone, scares me." I fessed, feeling a cold shiver creep up my spine.

  Gently c my hand, Jasper moved it to his chest and spoke in soft voice. "It is the same for me, Ann. I 't imagine life without you anymore. The idea of eternity with you not by my side is just as scary to me, my love." He admitted. I wao kiss him so badly. As if reading my mind, he pced his hand on my cheek and leaned down to kiss me.   "Let's make my cast roof then". I smiled at him and tried to unbutton my shirt. After a bit of struggle, getting only oton undone, I realized what I'm doing again and stopped to face Jasper. "Ermmm, you please..?" It still felt strao ask for help with something so simple.

  "Of course." He replied, seemingly happy. The st time was quite fi thinking back to when he found me only in a towel... I couldn't help but hesitate, stopping his hands before he could finish unbuttoning my shirt.

  "Yes, angel. I was hunting st night, so it's much easier to ummm... handle myself while close to you." Expined Jasper. That was a new information to me but it made sense and quite corresponded with how he handled himself, the st time we made ht after his hunt. sidering how passio was.   I was gd because if I wao stop taking the risk of f my body to heal too fast for the sake of both of us, I needed his help. Said Jasper and started carefully ing my arm with splint iic foil he brought from downstairs. The movements of my arm hurt but I tried to not make it obvious.

  Pulling my pants off of my hips I shimmied a little, getting them as loossible before sitting back down on my bed. Of course my pants stayed stu the edge of my cast. "If you let me..." I heard Jasper's quiet voice as I felt his fingers on my thighs when he reached for my pants to gently pull them over the cast and take them off for me.

  When Jasper started to the pstic foil around my leg, the occasional brushing of his hand against the ihigh of my , sent soft electric impulses through me, making my heart race. "Are you alright?" He asked when I heard him put the roll of pstic away meaning he was finished.

  "Mmhmm." I nodded. With Jasper's help I stood up. He was already shirtless and his arm around my waist to support me while his other hand held my unharmed one, was making me feel warm as he steadied me on the way to the bathroom.
