Chapter 110 – Black and the Butterfly (Part 3)

When System saw Bck biting the butterfly, he was slightly stunned, but he soon stretched out his tentacles to pull Bck away.

System didn't think that Bck would cause any harm to the butterfly. Instead, he was worried that the butterfly would get angry because of Bck's attack and release his frost energy to freeze her.

However, System was overthinking. Although the butterfly possessed a strong frost power, he had no intention of resisting and continued rolling his body around in the soil and grass.

"King, why is he acting so different from us? Doesn't he know that you're the king?"

After being put down by System, Bck seemed to have recovered a little from her angry state and asked a question in confusion.

System looked at Bck, then at the deformed butterfly still rolling back and forth in the soil. He didn't answer and could only shake his head helplessly.

He'd never expected to bring this butterfly formed from the Lord of Gciers' remnant soul under his command, but after seeing Aura's current state, System couldn't help but feel a little sad.

He didn't answer Bck's question. Instead, he told her, "Little Bck, didn't worry about him. Let's prepare for your incomplete pupation. After all, time is running out."

"King, can you use your [Mental Network] power to connect me to this unreasonable butterfly?"

Bck didn't follow System's instructions. She made a request to System instead, as if she wanted to use the [Mental Network] to teach this butterfly that had offended the king a lesson with her words.

"It's useless. In his current state, he won't listen to anything."

System shook his head again, but he still agreed to Bck's request and used [Mental Network] to connect her with the deformed butterfly.

System was actually a little curious about what Bck wanted to say to this self-destructive fellow.

  ...

He didn't know how long he'd been imprisoned in this dark space, but he was eager to get out. This pce was too depressing.

He had forgotten his name, but the great one said a name to him that felt familiar. He liked the name, so he started calling himself Aura.

He seemed to have had memories at one time, but they had disappeared, so he had no idea how he'd gotten trapped here. He couldn't even remember his original appearance.

He only remembered that he had been very strong. Many creatures had feared him, many had admired him, and many were waiting eagerly for his return.

He seemed to also have several enemies, but he didn't remember who the enemies were.

No matter what, he had to get out of here first by borrowing the power of the great one to break open this dark space.

According to the videos transmitted to him by the great one, Aura knew that he was now a pupating butterfly. He couldn't leave this space for the moment, but after a while, he would turn into a butterfly and break free from this space.

Although a butterfly had no mandibles, it had a retractable spike on its head. Aura estimated that the power level of this spike should be very high. It should be able to stab into the skulls of his enemies and suck out their brains.

Butterflies had two pairs of huge wings, with one pair rger than the other. Aura felt that it would be effortless to fly with these huge wings that were more than ten meters long. He could also use his wings to send out gusts of extremely strong winds.

Butterflies also had six legs, which was two legs better than having four legs.

Aura, who was fantasizing about his future state after breaking out of the chrysalis, suddenly remembered something. It seemed that there had been four legs on his original body.

However, when he recalled carefully, he still couldn't remember what he'd looked like before, and he couldn't even be sure whether or not he'd had four legs.

  ...

Time passed little by little. Aura was sometimes awake and sometimes asleep, and his strength gradually increased.

He could feel the suppression power this space had on him getting lower and lower, and he felt like he could break out of it at any time. The great one had once told him that it wouldn't take long for him to escape from this space, but Aura felt like he'd been trapped in the darkness for more than one hundred years.

He didn't know that the passage of more than one hundred years was only an illusion. Because there were no points of reference inside the chrysalis, Aura was only going by his subconscious concept of time.

For a butterfly that was undergoing its second pupation, a few dozen days already occupied a rge portion of the butterfly's several-year lifespan. Proportionally, that was equivalent to more than one hundred years of Aura's original dragon lifespan.

It was precisely because of this illusion of more than one hundred years passing that Aura had thought so highly of the "great one." A being who could describe more than a hundred years as a very short time was definitely an extraordinary being.

  ...

However, Aura's dreams had instantly shattered the moment he'd broken out of the chrysalis.

His wrinkled wings were weak and powerless. When he'd looked over at the weeds beside him, he'd seen that his body wasn't even as tall as the weeds.

He realized that a "butterfly" was a weak and tiny creature, while the "great one" was just a garbage monster. It seemed like as long as he blew a breath, the tentacled insect would be frozen into a block of ice.

Aura tried opening his mouth to spray cold air at the garbage insect.

However, he found that he had no mouth at all. He could only stretch out the soft straw on his face, and nothing even sprayed out of it.

  "Tsk."

He didn't know how to express his current mood. In the end, he could only send a disdainful mental message to the garbage insect named System.

If he truly possessed the strength of the powerful "butterfly" that he'd imagined, then the moment he escaped from his prison, that garbage monster would have been killed by him dozens of times over.

Aura regretted everything. He never should have asked that tentacled garbage to help him break out of the chrysalis.

Although being trapped inside the chrysalis had made him uncomfortable, at least he'd still felt like a powerful being in there, not like the weak butterfly he was now.

Perhaps being trapped in the chrysalis until he died was the ending he should have had. If that were the case, he never would have been reduced to his current state.

  ...

Aura kept rolling in the soil.

His wrinkled wings couldn't be opened? So what if they couldn't be opened?! Even if he had intact wings and could fly, wouldn't he still be a rubbish butterfly? What difference did it make whether he could fly or not?

Aura rolled even harder in the soil. He wanted to prove to this strange-looking insect with tentacles all over his body that even if he couldn't open his wings, he wouldn't regret it.

However, while Aura was rolling in the soil, he felt a little pain in his abdomen. An unknown tiny insect had bitten him.

Aura felt a little angry. Even with the pitiful amount of power he had now, it wouldn't be a problem to freeze the tiny insect that had provoked him.

But after a moment, he calmed down.

  Bite me.

  Just bite me to death.

However, even after waiting for a long time, Aura, who was still rolling in the soil, didn't feel that tiny insect bite him again. The garbage monster seemed to have restrained the tiny insect with his tentacles.

Aura soon heard a mental message from the tiny insect. "Why were you so rude to the king?"

  King?

Such a thing could also be called a king?

Aura subconsciously wanted to refute with disdainful words, but after thinking about it, he didn't answer. What did it have to do with him if the garbage monster called himself a king.

  "Tsk."

His response was more disdainful mockery. Aura stopped rolling in the soil and started lying on the ground quietly next to the weeds.

The tiny insect was still saying something to him, but Aura pretended not to hear it at all.

He decided not to think about it and pnned to take a nap.
