Chapter 91 : A Search across Icy Spacetime: The Path to Eterna

The icy winds howled across the frozen landscapes as Glacialix soared through the vast stretches of the Icy Omniverse, her mind tangled in conflicting emotions. The Ice Palace loomed in the distance, a majestic yet eerie structure that had once been her sacred domain, a place where she had stood as its guardian for ages. But now, as she flew toward it, her thoughts were nowhere near its grandeur or the duties she had upheld for eons.

Her thoughts were filled with only one person—her Master, Arfrotian.

Despite her usual composed nature, she couldn’t help but feel an unfamiliar warmth rise in her chest, contrasting with the cold air around her. The recent moments with Arfrotian lingered in her mind—his teasing remarks, his calculating yet effortless charm, and, most of all, how he had always been different with her. Others feared him, respected him, or even saw him as a manipulative force of nature. But to her… he was something else.

"He is my Master… but more than that… he is my world," she had confessed in the depths of her heart.

Glacialix sighed, shaking her head as she pushed herself forward through the frozen winds. She had come to the Ice Palace with a clear purpose—to confirm whether Arfrotian was there.

Yet, deep down, she already knew he wouldn’t be. It was an instinctual feeling, an understanding she had developed through her connection with him. Still, she needed to be sure.

As she approached the palace, her presence alone was enough to stir the energies of the ancient structure. The icy walls shimmered in response, recognizing their former guardian. If any omniversal forces were keeping watch, they would perceive this as nothing more than the Ice Phoenix searching for her supposed master, Zenian. A convenient misdirection, one that could keep unwanted eyes distracted while the real ruler of the Icy Omniverse continued his search in secrecy.

Her heart ached slightly, since she couldn’t find Arfrotian within the Ice Palace, that he had asked about.

  He isn’t here…

She clenched her fists and steeled herself. Then where are you, Master?

Meanwhile, far from the Ice Palace, Arfrotian was traversing the vast, frozen spacetime of the Icy Omniverse. The chilling void around him stretched endlessly, shimmering with icy fractals and cosmic frost, each layer of frozen reality swirling with remnants of timelines long forgotten.

As he moved through the vastness, his movements were precise, almost effortless. Every now and then, he would pause, recalculating his trajectory based on the clues he had gathered. He had deduced the most probable location of Eterna’s seal—a central point between two significant landmarks, the Ice Temple and the Ice Palace.

Despite his usual sharp focus, an unexpected sensation washed over him—an odd sense of drowsiness, as he suddenly sneezed. He blinked, slightly surprised.

"Huh? It’s the first time I have ever snoozed like this… Is someone thinking about me?" he mused aloud.

A small, knowing smile crept onto his lips as he exhaled lightly.

"Guess it must be my Ice Queen… After all, I did tease her a little. I can imagine her fuming, then getting lost in thoughts about our encounters and moments together… Well, that’s probably a guess, but who knows? It might even be true~"

His amusement flickered for a moment before his focus sharpened once more. He was getting closer to his target—the very heart of this icy domain, where the sealed Eterna could be hidden.

This location, a convergence of powerful icy forces, was an ideal place for such a sealing. Not only did it sit between two of the most sacred and significant sites of the Icy Omniverse, but its very nature—a frozen graveyard—meant it was likely untouched for eons. If his deductions were correct, the graveyard at the center could be the very place where Eterna lay beneath deep ice, sealed away by those who had feared her power.

  Arfrotian narrowed his eyes.

"Well, that’s the most probable region. No harm in going to check it out. But… if my assumptions are correct, there’s bound to be an obstacle at the center," he murmured to himself.

Arfrotian was flying through the vast icy space there but as he could sense he hadn't reached anywhere near his destination, afterall,

His final trust in this search mission was his heart as well, for Eterna, had gladly offered herself as his wife and he too accepted her, as what had happened in that dream world forged by Eternal Frostheart and Pandora, it was why there was this mark of an icy crown on Arfrotian's forehead, the sign of the ruler of Icy Omniverse, due to being acknowledged by the divine consciousness of the omniverse,

so this connection that he made with Eterna, is also a big help to him to search for her whereabouts, but then, Arfrotian muttered,

"Did Glacialix go o search for me, in the Ice Palace, well sadly for her though if she went to find out if I were there or not, she wouldn't find me afterall I'm going to the central location in between Ice Temple and Ice Palace,

hmm, though I feel bad for Glacialix, but her search process would be a good cover for if the Omniversal ruler's people ever come to check what the Ice Phoenix was doing, and they find her searching, which they will think she is searching for Zenian,

the so called ruler of ice omniverse and Master of Ice Phoenix, as the omniversal ruler and its people think, afterall it's not like they know of any other ruler interfering with their plans, or that whether their plan is already hijacked, anyway, back to the topic first priority finding Eterna, but well........."

As Arfrotian was travelling to the central place in between Ice Temple and Ice Palace, the storm was brewing harder, and not in a way that only happens in landscapes afterall,

These weren’t ordinary storms—these were fluctuations of spacetime itself, raging like a tempest within the omniversal frozen abyss. The temperature had already dropped to absolute zero, though it was meaningless to him.

Permafrost, (Arfrotian’s main ice skill ability, that control’s and uses ice of Absolute zero) was his to command, and if needed,

he could unleash Pandora (Arfrotian’s forbidden innate Red ice skill ability that manifests ice below absolute zero, freezing entire singularities)—a force beyond mortal comprehension.

But despite his control over the cold, he remained cautious. Something about this place felt off.

His fingers brushed against the mark on his forehead—the icy crown, which had started to glow and flicker its pale blue and white light as he could feel.

  Then, without warning—

  His heartbeat spiked.

Arfrotian's eyes flickered as he placed a hand over his chest, his smirk widening slightly.

  "Hmm, so it’s confirmed… Eterna is here~"

It was a confirmation that resonated deep within him, an unshakable certainty. Yet, the environment grew more treacherous the closer he got. The frozen tides of spacetime surged violently, warping reality itself.

Traveling any further without caution could lead to unpredictable consequences—getting lost in an entirely different dimension, being flung across the omniverse, or worse, falling into a trap set by those who had sealed Eterna away.

Arfrotian’s mind raced through the possibilities.

"The people who sealed Eterna here… They must have had a way to bypass these deadly fluctuations. The Eternal Frostheart could’ve cleared this place if they wielded it, but…

That’s impossible. I am the very first to properly wield and be acknowledged by the Eternal Frostheart. This means…"

A knowing smirk tugged at his lips.

"They must have found another way to navigate through these spacetime fluctuations. The real question is… should I try to find that pathway or break straight through?"

It was a critical decision. He had the raw strength to brute-force his way through, but there was a risk—not of death, but of miscalculation. A single mistake could send him off-course, delaying his search for Eterna. On the other hand, if he took the alternative, he would need to waste time locating the hidden safe passage the mortals had used long ago.

His gaze flickered between the raging, chaotic space in front of him and the possibility of another path existing somewhere in this frozen wasteland.

"Hmm… I could brute-force my way through. The cold won’t harm me, but the problem is the spacetime distortions. If I take the wrong step, I could end up somewhere completely unrelated to my objective… or even worse, get caught in a temporal loop."

He tapped his fingers lightly, weighing his options.

"But if I try to find the safer route, it’ll take time. While I may have quite a bit of time, I don’t wanna waste it. Even though I trust my instincts, this method isn’t exactly ideal either…"

A smirk returned to his lips, sharp and calculating.

"The search is actually becoming quite interesting now. What should I do~?"

With a final glance at the chaotic, icy void before him, he made his decision.
