portal to where?

Jack told Moner that these sky-blue jewels, when used with a request or desire, would make it come true, but not like wishes, as their powers are limited. When used once, they are surrounded by a red color and are destroyed. Moner was astonished by this information, which he had never heard before, and promised Jack he wouldn’t tell anyone. Now, he understood why the price of these jewels was so high and their purpose. Moner began to reflect on all the strange events that had happened recently. He returned home and saw his family filled with joy and happiness. When he looked at Novamelle, he saw that she had finally woken up after two days of unconsciousness. His entire family embraced her tightly, and Moner, deeply moved, asked, "Are you okay? Is everything all right? I’m sorry I left you; I won’t leave you again," tears streaming down his face. Novamelle smiled and replied, "Yes, I’m fine." He responded, "You idiot, don’t put us in such a situation again. I’m glad that someone found you unconscious and took you to the hospital." He winked at her, signaling that he was lying and didn’t want their parents to know. Novamelle jokingly said, "Hey, you’re the idiot, clearly from my voice you should have run. I got so scared, I ran and i hit my head on a tree then i got fainted on my way back." Their parents, concerned, said, "We won’t let you go to the Life Line again. It seems like you don’t value your life. As for you, Moner, you were just lucky to survive. We won’t let you take such risks again. If you don’t fear for your life, we do." Moner responded, "Okay, Mom and Dad, no problem. Also, there’s something I didn’t tell you. I sold the two jewels I found in the cave and got 100 pure gold ingots. Why don’t we renovate the house?" The father asked, "Why didn’t you tell me that before? Do you still have one left?" Moner told him he had no more jewels and that he had sold both he found in the secret cave. He thought it was bad timing to show them when Novamelle was missing. The father replied, "No problem, then. I’ve heard they are rare and special jewels. It’s great that you found them." Moner offered to go back and find more jewels for him, but both parents refused, saying the journey might be even more dangerous. The mother suggested, "Why don’t we renovate the house tomorrow? It will be great." The family agreed to go to the market. The next day, the sun was shining brightly, and the weather was refreshing. They went to the market and bought lots of luxury wooden furniture: beds, wood for the ceiling and floor repairs, a new table and chairs, carpets, curtains, and new clothes. Their living conditions improved greatly, and Moner and Novamelle achieved part of their bigger goal. They returned home in the afternoon, had some roast beef, which was considered one of the best foods, repaired the windows, and fixed everything that was broken in the house. It was a happy, joyful day, which compensated for the gloomy atmosphere their father had maintained for so many years. When night came, Moner and Novamelle sat by a tree near the house. Moner told Novamelle: "what had happened?". She replied that she hadn’t told their parents anything and had heard them say that Moner found her at the hospital. "Is that true, Moner? Since you winked at me, I assume you’re lying to them. Why?" Moner explained that something strange had happened. "That day, the strange girl with black eyes and black hair came to me and asked me to use the blue gem to remove a curse from someone in exchange for her freeing you. When I used the gem, it turned red, and the merchant’s son told me it was used up. After using it, she opened a portal with her fingers as if to another dimension and freed you from it, then left immediately." Novamelle felt strange about what had happened and told him it was true. She explained that when they entered the secret cave and separated, she saw a bear sleeping deeply. She was walking cautiously, taking small steps, and when she started searching for jewels, someone suddenly startled her from behind, causing her to scream. "Then, I saw a person push me into a strange portal. The girl with the black hair and black eyes, just as you described her, was the one who pushed me inside." The place she found herself in was all white, a void-like world, vast and full of millions of people. But these people weren’t real—they were like mirages or dolls, intangible, unlike anything she had ever seen. "I asked, 'Who are you? What do you want?' She didn’t respond but instead asked, 'Who is this boy to you?' When I told her I was his sister, she attacked me immediately and hit my neck, causing me to lose consciousness. I don’t remember much after that, but I woke up hours later." Moner felt chills and said, "If she hated me and attacked you, why didn’t she attack me directly? It’s very strange." Novamelle continued, saying, "I was tied up, unable to move—my hands, feet, and mouth were bound so I couldn’t speak with her. She brought my lantern to me as if she wanted me to know she was holding me captive. I could see millions of people standing still, like frozen figures, but I noticed one person far away, surrounded by energy, though I couldn’t see them clearly. I could tell she was annoyed by that person, but I’m not sure why. She ignored me as well. While I was tied up, she would leave through the portal to the outside world, leaving me behind. I don’t know exactly what she was doing, but when she opened the portal, I saw we were still in the cave, and it was very dark—it was nighttime. Thanks to the portal’s faint light, I could tell. I’m not sure how long I was tied up—maybe days. After some time, she suddenly opened the portal again. I saw that it was almost evening, and the place looked familiar—it was near the market!" Moner realized that the portal could take her outside. When the woman arrived, Novamelle was afraid of becoming like the mirages, silent and standing still forever. "She hit me on the neck, and I lost consciousness. I thought that was the end, but I woke up in my bed at home." Moner looked at her neck and saw marks of blood and bite marks. "That’s really strange. Do you remember the person watching you from afar? I think it was her." Novamelle replied, "Maybe. But what does she gain from all this?" While they were talking, Moner told her that when the bear attacked him and he almost died, a strange power activated, covering his whole body with an iron shield. From his right hand came a steel sword, and from his left, lava and flames. Novamil was surprised and said, "Is this real? Maybe she’s afraid of your power." Moner replied, "Considering what you saw in that void world, I think what happened to me is more believable. How could I have survived without that power? But if she had attacked me earlier, she could have easily defeated me because I didn’t have the power then." They both marveled at the events and thought together, "Maybe we’re involved in something hidden? But why don’t we know about it?" Moner added, "Well, maybe not thinking about it anymore is the best option for us right now." Novamelle agreed and said, "Maybe that cave is the cause of these problems. We shouldn’t go back. Since we’ve found the jewels and sold them, our lives are much better now. We don’t need to take any more risks, right?" Moner agreed and said, "Yes, now we have nothing else to do but train more. I won’t let Siford surpass me. Since we’re almost 16, we have one more year before we can become soldiers for the government. I’ll pave my way to become king, right Novamil? We won’t just improve our own lives, but for the whole kingdom. Will you continue training with me?" Novamelle replied, "You’re right, we’re not that selfish, and we care about the kingdom’s well-being. But isn’t the test dangerous? Most people fail it." She thought Moner was kind and loved justice for everyone, which made him suitable for this task, but the chance of failure was very high, and if he failed, he would die. Suddenly, Moner interrupted her thoughts and said, "There’s something else I forgot to tell you. It’s the royal palace. I think I’ve seen it before. Is it just an illusion? I don’t know. Why don’t we go see it tomorrow together? But let’s buy a cloak for each of us and not show ourselves to the public, because I have this strange feeling about it as well." Novamelle agreed and said, "Okay, no problem. But I think you suspect something. But really, Moner, why don’t you show me your power tomorrow in the forest before we reach the Life Line?" Moner agreed but was worried if his power would activate again and whether he could control it.
