With Johnny missing from school there was only one place and one person left that I had to go to. It had been several hours since we started our campaign, but we would soon be finished with it.
Walking to the principal's office took almost no time. A smaller group of police officers followed behind me, the others were escorting the guilty students from Johnny’s class.
I knocked on the door, to which the unusually happy voice of the principal replied, “Come in.”
“Much obliged.” I responded, a few short memories of our prior conversations flashed through my mind.
No matter the occasion he tried to throw the blame on me. If it was not for my refusal to play along with his schemes and my silver tongue, I would have long been expelled from this school.
“You should know why I am here.” I stated placing no mind to
“Is this about the recent controversy in the school?” He asked almost innocently. The police officers that followed me let out a sigh, they had probably dealt with hundreds of mouthy criminals.
“It is.” I replied, a confident smile forming on my face.
“I see, I was going to make an official statement tomorrow, but it seems you have beat me to it.” He responded with his own fake smile, one that lacked any emotion.
It didn’t take much to see through his facade or his lies, but it might be tricky for the police in the interrogation to get anything out of him.
“I would like to cooperate completely if possible, but first…” he looked over to me, others couldn’t tell but his eyes were hiding a certain depth. He wouldn’t go down easily.
“...I would like to ask about your condition, how are you injuries?” He asked in a sympathetic voice.
“They are horribly bad, but I will have to recover slowly.” I said, no boundaries in my words. However, what was more important was his reply.
“I see, I wish you the best in regards to your health. I will also do my very best to ensure that our campus is free of such acts in the future.” He replied formally. The police were now sweating behind me, whether they would continue standing behind me was becoming questionable.
The principal was saying all these things even though his nephew was the one behind it all.
A sudden thought occurred to me, one of the best ways to get somebody to let their guard down is…
“I thank you for your pledge to the safety of this school, and I believe we could use your assistance immediately.” I replied. The principal looked quite shocked, but hid it well, he obviously did not expect us to actually count on his help.

“P-perfect, how should I help you in your pursuit of safety.” He replied, faltering slightly.
“You see the thing is… no, I can’t expect you to help with ‘that’.” I easily set him up.
“Azure, my boy, I promised to help, just tell me how.” He replied, trying to resume his higher attitude.
“Didn’t you say you would get me burgers, fries, and a shake the next time we met?” I said, waiting for his reaction.
Everybody in the room froze for a moment, and then their reactions each came separately.
The police officers stifled their laughter, the blonde and brown haired officers laughed out loud, and then the principal…
The principal kept his usual fake smile shown on his face, but with my perception I could tell that a vein was sticking out of his head, and he was gritting his teeth.
The principal then tried to laugh it off and responded with, “Good one Azure.”
“I'm serious.” I said, with my face as calm as my words.
The principal continued to laugh off my words.
“Aren't you going to order?” I asked. It was at this time that the principal noticed I was serious in my request.
“I don’t think we really have the time.” He replied, trying to bring our conversation back to focus.
“You can just order it online, after you order we can get to work.” I gave him a simple suggestion.
“Azure, it’s kind of rude to keep the police waiting.” He immediately switched to more casual speech, wanting to sound more personal.
“They're fine with waiting, right?” I asked them. The officers behind me quickly nodded.
“Or does the principal not want to keep his promise with me?” I asked innocently, while bringing a small attention to his honor.
“Didn’t you teach me that men should keep their word?” I added on, the principal was no longer smiling, however he wore a neutral expression on his face instead.
“You are exactly right, I will order the food immediately.” He pulled out his phone and started typing.
I was slightly surprised it actually worked, but only slightly. It wasn’t a huge loss for him, only the cost of a meal.
“A burger… fries… and a shake.” He said slowly while pressing buttons on his phone.
“Ordered, it will be here within half an hour.” he said casually.
“Thank you for keeping your promise.” I said almost poisonously, a normal ‘thank you’ wasn’t enough. I had to tell him it was his responsibility.
“Of course, now let's get back on topic. What was the thing you wanted my help with?” He said a little stiffly, he was starting to break down.
“Oh ‘that’.” I responded like I just remembered.
“Yes, ‘that’.” He replied, his patience withering.
“You see, a kid didn’t attend school today.” I said leaving too much room for interpretation.
“Tens of kids miss school each day, what about it?” He asked, his forehead creasing.
“There is this boy, he needs to be taken into police custody for the recent events that have happened at this school.” I replied long winded. Drawing out the pain for the final assault.
“I see, and what is this boy’s name?” He asked, his face was a deep red.
“I need your help finding out the information of this student.” I added on.
“Just tell me his name.” He almost yelled.
“The boy’s name is…” I started.
I looked behind me, “Drum-roll please.” The officers obliged, banging their hands on their legs. They assisted me in building up the drama for the final blow.
“Johnny Jewel.” I said, a devilish grin now showing on my face.
The principal literally spat blood out of his mouth.
