66. My blood staining their hands.

It took a second for my head to stop spinning, but after it stopped I quickly regained my senses.

The first thing I did after was to check Tracy’s body for injuries. Even if I was protecting her during the fall she could still be seriously injured.

Luckily it seemed only the back of her clothes were cut, without a single knick on her back or neck.

I calmed down more, and felt the pain of the fall. It felt like falling on a bed of nails. I gritted my teeth and stood up slowly.

I walked closer to Tracy and realised what she was saying. Tracy was sitting clutching her knees while whispering to herself.

“Again… Again a man touched me.”

  I had re-triggered her trauma.

I hesitated for a second, what would I do from here, and many mistakes disguised as ideas filled my head. With too many thoughts I decided to just be myself.

I offered her a hand while saying, “Are you okay?” My superficial inspection was not as good as the subject's own feeling of pain.

“Why did a dirty man like you touch me?” she spoke coldly.

However, before I could say anything, “Azure!” Several loud voices shouted at once.

I looked back, everybody was running down the path Tracy and I had just created.

All of them arrived towards me at almost the same time.

“WHY? WHY DID YOU TOUCH ME?” Tracy shouted.

Everyone ignored Tracy, and instead ran up to me. Before I could even say a word Jane pulled off my shirt.

“Even if we asked you, you wouldn’t give us a straight answer.” She quickly said aloud.

A couple yelps sounded from them.

“Quickly get it off.” Haven’s voice sounded from behind me.

Together they quickly pulled off my bandages, and threw them away from themselves. The bandages had large spots of blood red, so I must have been bleeding pretty badly.

Screams this time were heard from the sight of my back.

“What are you doing? Why are you reacting like that?” Tracy asked curiously. She stood up and walked around me.

“A-a f-filthy man like you deserves this.” she said falteringly.

“What do you mean?” Haven asked with a mean voice, “He did this to protect you, didn’t he?”

“B-but it’s his fault I fell in the first place.” Tracy tried to defend herself.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“His fault?” Katy said angrily. “He didn’t do a thing to you.”

“He planned all of this from the start, why can’t you understand he is deceiving you?” Tracy argued even harder.

“You should know Azure’s condition, there is no way he planned for something like this. Plus he isn’t the kind of person to deceive others feelings.” Jane added.

  “His condition?” Tracy asked, confused.

“Haven’t you gone outside in the past week, or at least talked to somebody?” Jane asked, dumbfounded.

“O-of course I have.” Tracy obviously lied.

“Then you should have seen the news article about Azure, right?” Jane spoke obviously.

  “What article?” Tracy asked.

Haven pulled out her phone and showed it to Tracy. Half the girls re-wrapped my bandages and replaced my shirt, while the others just watched Tracy.

I was able to stand again, and I turned to face everybody else. All five girls, Tracy excluded, had my blood on their hands.

It felt horrible to have done that to somebody, my blood staining their hands felt like a sin.

Eventually, the noise of a certain video played out loud.

Finally Haven’s phone was returned to her.

“So you went through something like that?” She said looking depressed.

“But what does it have to do with me?” She quickly followed up.

  “Actually-” Jane started.

“Don’t say it.” I interrupted. If the truth was revealed all I would get was pity.

“And why should I listen to you?” Jane asked. I didn’t have any good reason.

“You are the one that owes me, right?” She continued.

“Yes.” I replied and quickly gave up on the idea of controlling Jane in the slightest.

“So you are fine with me telling?” She teased.

“Do what you want.” I gave up.

“The reason Azure went through all of this…” She paused for dramatic effect. Many held breaths created an exciting silence that heightened the suspense on Jane’s next words.

“Was to find you.” Jane finally finished her sentence.

Tracy froze, and so did everybody else.

“W-what do you mean?” Tracy asked falteringly, and many others waited for Jane’s answer.

“After the false accusation against Azure he could have stayed out of school, or even cleared up all the controversy about Johnny. However, instead he waited, the things in the article happened because he had to find you.” Jane spoke, and nobody dreamed of interrupting her.

  “To find me?” Tracy asked.

“Yes, he did all of this for you.” Jane said, but her wording was definitely weird. Tracy fell deep into thought, and so did a few of the others.

“Wait, don’t we need to call an ambulance?” Kaede finally asked. Everybody snapped out of their thoughts and scurried for their phones.

“Wait, don’t. I don’t want to stay in the hospital.” I said. I could not have any public relation with Amanda. If I was in the hospital and we were found to have some type of relationship, Amanda might lose her job.

  “And the reason?” Jane asked.

“What if I don’t want to say?” I replied.

“I’m using one of my favors.” She said.

“On this? Wait, is this the kind of thing you ask a favor for?” I asked, and then a terrifying thought went through my head. Would Jane use her other two favors to reveal all the secrets I wanted hidden.

I knew from the second I promised her the favors, that no matter what I would keep them. I would not break my word for that promise, ever. What would I do if she asked a question that would lead me to revealing my power?

“Fine, the nurse friend I have helping me, it would be bad if she was found helping me instead of bringing me to the hospital.” I explained as quickly as possible.

“There’s more isn’t there?” Jane asked crazily. Her natural instinct was too spot on.

“I… didn’t want to leave everybody alone again.” I spoke shyly.
