When Mila woke, Aalam was sitting in the center of an array in the corner of the crafting hall, building something in the air in front of him while absorbing primal energy from a few hundred large primal energy stones at once, a series of array formation disks used for spreading Territory, likely for use in a few decades when Earth’s portal to another universe would fully form. But these were complicated high grade array formation disks Aalam wouldn’t have been able to make before advancing to D rank, so he was extremely focused, not yet having noticed she’d woken up, or at least not having shown any type of obvious reaction.
Mila’s focus, on the other hand, with her sensory domain active, was her own appearance, and nothing particularly bad had happened. The same type of changes which had occurred to Aalam had happened to her, her hair becoming slightly translucent and her eyes glowing to magical senses, but there was one big change, and it was in the way her eye skills expressed themselves. Now, instead of having pink irises with sky blue rings around them, her left eye was pink while her right was sky blue.
Having assured herself nothing had gone wrong, Mila then opened up Aalam’s status screen, wanting to see what he’d gained after advancing to D rank.

King’s Command and Primal Heart were both excellent additions to Aalam’s racial abilities, but Mila was also pleasantly surprised to find Minor Soul Lord Battle Armor had advanced a grade as well to Soul Lord Battle Armor, likely as a result of Aalam becoming a soul lord variant. Now, instead of increasing just the base of his physical stats by 25% of his effective Soul stat, it increased the base of his Magic and Spirit stats as well. And, with Aalam having opened 53 acupoints, one for each level up as a D rank, his effective Soul stat had increased a lot, making his Soul Lord Battle Armor even stronger.
Acupoints were the connection points between a soul’s energy channels and the outside world, opening each increasing qi, mana, and psyforce regeneration rates by quite a bit, but, more important, opening them also caused a fundamental change to a soul, strengthening it. And, in Aalam’s case, as he practiced the best cultivation technique in the universe, he received a +6% to the effectiveness of a stat with every new acupoint he opened, 1% higher than even a cultivator practicing one of the recognized six best cultivation techniques in the universe such as Yin Yang Cosmology, and 5.5% higher than a cultivator with an incredibly flawed foundation like Epecteos. Then, given Aalam had chosen an acupoint opening order which would add every single one of these effectiveness increases to his Soul stat, the effects of Soul Lord Battle Armor increased by a lot, to the point he was now running into the racial ability’s limit of only being able to increase base stats by 300%.
Add on how his Soul King uniqueness had advanced to Soul Emperor sometime during his advancement, likely as a result of his soul strengthening due to his becoming a soul lord variant and acquiring three separate classes of the sage line, and Aalam’s effective stats had become ridiculous.
Due to Mila not being able to fully shadow Aalam’s Nascent/Primal Energy Constructor racial ability, he hadn’t used that ability’s effects to increase the size of his 12 medium-sized mana wells to large, as that would have blocked Mila from being able to advance her Essence Chamberlain class, but he had advanced the size of his Elevated Soul Laboratory, and it could now store even a B rank soul, which would be incredibly useful.
With Earth increasing in rank over the years, Diana’s G rank soul could no longer stay its sovereign, so Aalam had taken over direct control of Earth. But it didn’t really matter when it came to Territory calculations. Earth was already an A rank world for the purpose of adding to Aalam’s Territory, way beyond what he’d need for even his C rank advancement, so he’d easily receive the max benefits from his Emperor uniqueness, multiplying all his stats by 6 in a way that had nothing to do with his stats’ effectiveness.
Then, with this multiplier and the insane 900% increase he gained to his Attunement stat from his oath, Villain’s Clean Vengeance, a B rank effect which wouldn’t appear in his D rank status, Aalam’s true effective Attunement stat was already well over six million, while his affinities were already ridiculously high, so it wouldn’t be difficult reaching the required Law grades for him to increase to C rank, Aalam only having to advance his remaining eighteen high grade Law Pupae to peak grade. And this would be made even easier after the next D rank Trial Tower, where Aalam would be looking for the D rank Mythic grade skill Twelve Element Wings of the King as one of his rewards, enabling him to make full use of his Law Wings King racial ability.
Given the eight skills Aalam had had as an E rank, it was already amazing he’d been able to raise them all to Mythic grade even though he only had one Mythic grade class, which only had six skill slots, so he couldn’t awaken to an extra Mythic grade skill during his advancement as his Mythic grade class hadn’t had any open slots.
He’d only been able to advance Elevated Multi-Mind and Elevated Multi-Core by taking advantage of a hidden ability of sage line classes to raise a single skill to a grade higher than the class’s own during a rank advancement, so he’d had no way to raise a ninth skill.
Sure, he could have awakened to a Fabled grade wing skill to make immediate use of if he’d wanted to, but that would have required raising four extra hard to master skills for the skill merge, skills he wouldn’t have access to until the trial tower anyway, so, as they’d discussed previously, he’d decided against wasting his time.
“I gave a good chunk of my extra nascent energy to Nitya so she could have a better race advancement and then used the rest to set up a better future upgrade for the Left Hand of the Runescribe.” Aalam, who had just finished opening another acupoint to increase his level to 162, turned to look at her, his face calm. But Mila could sense the extreme nervousness he was hiding through their bond.
Nitya had gained three extra skill slots from her new uniqueness, just like Mila, so she’d used one of them to gain a knight line skill, allowing her to share resources with everyone and take Aalam’s extra nascent energy. But this wasn’t important to Mila, barely registering in her thoughts.
What was important was, for the first time since their rebirths as monsters, she and Aalam were no longer incarnations of lust.
Sadly, however, Mila only had a few minutes to choose her new racial abilities if she was going to make full use of the remaining energy permeating her soul from her recent racial advancement, so she couldn’t yet make use of this fact.
“Aalam, is it okay if I use the Divine Essence of Love and Marriage?”
“Sure.”
Mila couldn’t stop herself from smiling as she felt the nervousness Aalam was feeling transform into excitement, but she didn’t have time to bask in her own happiness, so she chose her second personal reward from the War of the Chosen and a glowing pink and red ball of some kind of energy she’d never seen before, likely some kind of Law energy, appeared in her right hand. Then, without waiting for anything else, Mila pushed the divine essence into her chest and it entered through the dress she was wearing and into her soul.
Awakening your sixth racial ability as a Sublime Soul Heavenly Spark Primal Soul Lady (D-Mythic).
Please choose from the following three selections.
- Speedster (Fabled): Increase the effectiveness of the Agility stat by 100%.
- Shadow of the King (Mythic): Any Mythic grade or lower skill you are able to shadow will have the same boost as the original.
- Master of the Fist (Mythic): Remarkably increase the power of martial category punching skills.
Master of the Fist was useless as Mila wasn’t her grandmother and would almost certainly never learn any punching skills, so this left Speedster and Shadow of the King. Speedster, with its increase to her Agility stat, wasn’t bad, but, for her, Shadow of the King was much, much better. For any of Aalam’s noble category skills she shadowed for example, such as Ruler’s Domain and its ever so useful sensory domain effect, her version of the skill would still retain Aalam’s elevenfold boost in power for such skills, something she would never be able to achieve herself.
Without thinking too much, Mila chose Shadow of the King. Then she got started on her second choice.
Awakening your seventh racial ability as a Sublime Soul Heavenly Spark Primal Soul Lady (D-Mythic).
Please choose from the following three selections.
- Cultivation Furnace (Fabled): Greatly increase the benefits of dual cultivation.
- Primal Heart (Mythic): Seriously increase the normal flow rate of your qi, mana, and psyforce while greatly increasing their burst potential and ability to break down impurities.
- Yin Yang Soul (Mythic): Increase the effectiveness of the Soul stat by 100% and raise affinity with yin and yang Laws by 200%.
This choice was more difficult. Primal Heart was the same racial ability Aalam had just awakened, and it was absolutely amazing, able to more than triple her cultivation speed and increase her combat power by more than 20%, but, unlike the other two, it wouldn’t help with advancing her Laws. Yin Yang Soul was a weaker version of Aalam’s Heavenly Spark Pure Soul, advancing only yin and yang Laws instead of every Law imaginable, and providing no boost to Attunement, but it was still very strong. The ability which interested Mila most, however, was Cultivation Furnace.
Dual cultivation was a common practice in the universe which pretty much boiled down to cultivating while having sex. Given the mysteries of life and souls, sex created a connection between two partners, allowing them to share their attunement with the universe and speed up their energy flows.
But, more important to Mila, by all accounts it was just kind of awesome.
Nitya, for example, had described dual cultivating with her husband to Mila as the most magical experience of her life. And this was a woman who effectively controlled the weather.
Also, sex.
Sadly, however, Mila was still able to stay rational and chose the Primal Heart racial ability instead, and, just like Aalam, she fell asleep for two days as the abilities truly awakened.
Then, however, when she woke up, there was no longer anything holding her back.
So, she walked over to where Aalam was standing in the center of his workshop, building something, all the parts floating in the air in front of him as he used Runescriber to carve runic arrays into their internal structures, and just directly asked what she wanted to know. “Aalam, would you like to have sex with me?”
Aalam’s face and emotions both immediately showed relief before quickly switching to excitement. Then he moved towards her, took her into his arms, and kissed her, the artifact parts he’d been working on clattering to the floor.
A spatial magic array quickly formed around them, teleporting them to what appeared to be an abandoned villa on some island somewhere on Earth, likely the abandoned vacation residence of some billionaire, and they rapidly started removing each other’s clothes.
