Chapter 47- Not going home yet

"Is he even alive?" Pyra asks while poking at Cole.

"Yeah, just give him a moment." I shrug.

Pyra looks up at me and crosses her arms. She stands up and looms over me. Never noticed how tall she is, compared to me at least.

"It's been three days. We're not going to stay any longer for your new friend here!" Pyra scolds.

"We're not just going to leave him. Besides, I told you he's the colossal. Think about the research we could do on him." I say.

Pyra lightly taps her chin. She looks over at Cole and then back at me. She shrugs and sits down nearby.

"I guess we can stay longer, but just because you begged so much." She huffs.

I never begged though? I was honestly fine with leaving him here, I had just fought Marty too much to quit on him now. I usually wake up immediately from Balder and Loki's dreams, I wonder what's taking him so long? Hilt is sitting across from him. She doesn't come across as a fighter, yet King Yerrie seems confident she can kill Cole. Although... Cole looks really skinny in this form, sure he's ten feet tall but that barely affects strength.

I sit next to Hilt, she doesn't even look in my direction. Her full focus is on Cole, either she's in love or is still mad about the whole... Killing her whole vilge.

"Are you... Good at fighting?" I ask her.

She gives me a side eye and then looks down. I bend down slightly and peek at her face. She has both her eyes closed and is breathing slowly. Is she really asleep! People around here are just assholes! Maybe they should teach elves some manners, instead of just ignoring me. I stand up and walk over to Cole. He's still unconscious but at least he's not avoiding me.

I sit for a while, waiting for anyone to interact with me. I feel a sudden jolt next to me. I look over, Cole's eyes scan the area. He yawns and stands up. His head nearly touches the roof of our inn.

  "Where am I?" Cole yawns.

"We're staying in Gyrie, a nearby vilge." I tell him.

He looks down at me. His eyes scan me, in a look of confusion.

"Have humans always been so small?" he says.

"From the ones I've seen." I joke.

Pyra stands a few feet away from us. Her eyes wide and her hand gripping her staff. She slowly creeps forward as if she's trying to pet a cat. Cole looks at her with a pity, maybe for her size? Hilt moves her head up, squinting her eyes. She's trying to make it look like she's still asleep but t's obviously she's awake.

"Who did this to you child?" Cole says.

He gets down onto his knees and leans into Pyra. She stutters back a step.

"I'm sorry for my father!" Cole says.

He sms his head into the ground. His hands go above his head and goes into a begging motion. Pyra looks over at me, her eyes looking for answers. I tap Cole on the back and move his head up with my other hand.

"Hey man... You never did anything, no need to apologize." I tell him.

"Can't you see it!" Cole says, "She has my father's blessing. The same one I have."

A blessing? Didn't Marty say the magic gods blessing give giants the giant disease? Is that going to happen to Pyra. Hilt stands up suddenly, her cloak floats up with her speed. She stomps over to Cole.

  "Stand up Giant!" She says.

Cole looks up at her, hands moving onto the floor. He pushes himself onto his feet and stands over Hilt.

"You did something to this girl!" Hilt shouts.

"No, it was my Father." Cole responds.

"Father or not, you're reted to this!" Hilt says.

She reaches into her cloak. Her hand grips onto something and swings out from her cloak. She holds a rge red sword. The room gets hotter the longer she holds it. There's a rge grin on her face, Cole doesn't seem very fazed by her bde.

"I don't wish to fight. I was trying to warn you." Cole tells her.

"This is about you, not you're intentions." Hilt excuses.

"That doesn't make much sen-" Hilt cuts Cole off.

She kicks his knees, Cole colpses. Cole puts his hands into the air. Hilt taps Cole's head with her bde and Cole finches.

"If you try anything! I'll fucking kill you, got that!" Hilt says through her teeth.

Cole nods and Hilt puts her sword down. She re-sheaths it and sits down in her spot.

"I'll be watching you giant!" Hilt says, "You'll get what you deserve."

I help Cole back onto his feet.

"We should go see Marty." I tell him and Pyra.

"Who's that?" Cole asks, his leg limps as we walk.

"You two will get along just great!" Pyra jokes.

We carry him out of the inn. Marty, Frank, and King Yerrie are all sitting out front. Frank is still tied up like usual.

"Your friend finally woke up I see." The king says.

"Thanks captain obvious." Marty jokes, "Does that mean we're leaving?"

We gather our belongings into the carriage. Frank and Cole sit in front so Hilt can watch them. We draw less attention now that our whole army died. There's enough for us to all travel in carriages.

We set off sooner than the others. The king has some business to take care of. Speaking of business, I should talk to Marty about going to the demon territory. I can wait a little before I do that. I did just make us take a three day detour.

"What did you mean by 'blessing?'" Pyra asks Cole.

"It's a power, given by the magic god. You're aura tells me everything." Cole says.

"You can see auras too!" Pyra excims.

Does she even car about the blessing? A god gave you special powers and all you care about is seeing "auras?" I guess me and Pyra are friends because she like my aura. I wonder what Cole's looks like. Being half god must make his huge.

  "Hey Marty..." I mutter.

Marty looks over at me. I should just wait! No, I won't wait weeks before I ask him!

"Could we stop in the demon territory?" I ask.

  "No." Marty says.

"What? Why not?" I ask him.

Marty sighs and he sps his forehead.

"This mission has already been long enough and the demon territory is too dangerous for you anyways." Marty tells me.

"I can go alone." I tell him.

"You're not going there alone!" Marty says.

The carriage sits silent for a few moments. Pyra raises her hand.

"I can go with him. I've always wanted to visit the demon territory anyways." She says.

"No, you two aren't going on a date to a demon's dungeon." Marty tells us.

  "I'll join them." Cole adds.

"You don't get to go." Marty says.

"He can go, but I'll have to join them too." Hilt says.

Marty sits silent after this. He leans back in his chair and lets out a long sigh.

"Fine! You four can go." Marty says.

"Can I go daddy!" Princess Teir begs the king.

"Sorry honey, I can't send you off there with a bunch of teenagers." King Yerrie ughs.

The princess slumps back. She crosses her arms and pouts.

"She can come, we can protect her." Pyra says.

The king looks over at Pyra for a second. He turns over to his wife and she gives him a hesitant nod. He sighs and waves at the princess. She rushes over and sits in-between me and Pyra. So this is our new party! Me, Pyra, a child, a demi-god, and a revenge driven elf. This is going to be so much fun!
