Chapter 20 : Jyu vs Orbizo

"Doll!" Orbizo seemed unable to believe that Jyu possessed such a unique power.

"Your power is quite interesting," said Orbizo as he immediately attacked with terrifying speed.

This was the first time Jyu and Kuma fought together in a life-or-death battle. Of course, it was not easy, since their enemy possessed dreadful strength. Even so, Jyu did not waver; he remained focused on facing the incoming attacks.

In truth, Jyu had received training from Master Jenna on how to utilize Kuma’s power effectively. Thus, his way of fighting would be better than when he fought Lucas a few days ago.

"Kuma! Use your illusion power to distract him. If there’s an opening, attack immediately," said Jyu.

"Grrr." Kuma seemed to understand the instruction.

Jyu stepped forward at the front, blocking Orbizo’s ssh. "This is too strong, I can’t withstand it."

Jyu failed to hold back the attack and was finally thrown off, crashing into a building.

"The difference in our strength is far too great."

Seeing Jyu sm away, Kuma immediately ran toward him. But Orbizo had no intention of letting that happen. This time, his target was Kuma, his sword ready to strike the teddy bear doll.

  But...

Orbizo suddenly halted his steps. He was caught in Kuma’s illusion. Now in his mind a cute teddy bear was inviting him to py.

And suddenly, a punch struck his face. Kuma managed to hit him. The attack looked rather amusing, because Kuma was a doll, so his punch seemed to have no power. But a second ter, Orbizo was violently bsted away, flung as far as 500 meters.

After that, Kuma immediately approached Jyu, who y helpless amid the rubble of the building. Even so, Jyu remained conscious and witnessed Kuma’s strength firsthand.

  "You’re amazing, Kuma!" he whispered.

"Grrr." Kuma appeared worried about Jyu’s condition, his head now covered in blood.

Suddenly, Orbizo appeared before Jyu and Kuma. Now he was injured, his temple bleeding. His mouth was nearly crushed, and his jaw shifted to the right.

"Hahahaha! You’re quite great too, ugly doll. Your power is very special," he said, now struggling to speak clearly.

Jyu could no longer stand, but Kuma was still ready to fight.

"Hey, you’re already badly injured just from fighting a newbie," said a woman who appeared from the south.

She was a beautiful woman with gsses and her hair tied back. Jyu did not recognize her, but this woman was a member of DV Army. It was visible on the red robe she wore with the DV Army logo.

"So there are reinforcements after all," said Orbizo.

"Very well! I think that’s enough for today. Next time I will kill you," he said again, and a dimensional portal suddenly appeared. Orbizo returned to his realm!

  ---

Jyu’s escape from the hospital made Wirtz furious. Especially after the attack of a mystical creature of fairly high rank.

"If Taffie hadn’t come, you would already be dead!" said Wirtz, who was scolding Jyu, now lying once again on the hospital bed.

"So her name is Taffie!" Jyu muttered as he listened to Wirtz’s words.

"Forgive me! I just wanted to get some fresh air," Jyu said again.

Wirtz looked even angrier at that excuse. "Did you forget my warning? If you run away, the stake is your life. This is what I meant. Now it is the full moon, and many high-level mystical creatures appear. A beginner like you will die if you face them."

Jyu only just realized that it was now a full moon. He remembered Master Felix’s words, mentioning that mystical creatures would appear in great numbers during the full moon.

"After you recover, you will be judged. Prepare yourself to receive punishment!" Wirtz said firmly.

When Wirtz had left, Jyu began thinking about Kuma’s power. He had seen it directly; Kuma’s punch was so strong that it could seriously injure a high-level mystical creature. If Kuma’s power could be utilized effectively, Jyu was certain he could defeat anyone.

However, his encounter with Orbizo also reminded Jyu of Kuma’s weakness. In the rune, it was clearly written that his demon’s weakness was dimensional portals. Upon reconsidering, Kuma could open and close dimensional portals. That meant he could also enter and exit the realm of Darkent or perhaps other realms.

Jyu grew confused again. This should have been Kuma’s advantage. But unfortunately, in the rune, it was the opposite, considered a weakness. Jyu thought there must be a mystery behind it. And he had to find a way to use Kuma to open dimensional portals.

But before that, he certainly had to recover and face the punishment from the DV Army.

"Joining the army is truly exhausting, too many rules," Jyu said softly.

An idea crossed his mind; Jyu wanted to study the demon powers of others. Since Sizhi was the closest person to him now, she would be the first.

As usual, Sizhi was indifferent; she merely sat on her bed reading a book.

"Sizhi, may I ask you something?" Jyu asked.

With a cold gaze Sizhi looked at Jyu who still y weakly on his bed. "About what?"

"Do you want to ask about my father?"

Jyu just remembered that Sizhi was a noble’s daughter who was greatly hated by the common people.

"Oh no! I’m not interested in asking about your family," said Jyu.

"I only want to know your demon’s power, including its weakness. I mean no harm, I want to understand my friend’s strength. In the future, we will surely fight together to protect each other."

Jyu seemed quite clever at persuading someone, so his hidden intention would not be known. But this reason worked; Sizhi appeared to believe him and finally began telling about her demon’s power.

"My demon’s name is Svider. Its main power is thread. I can control these threads as I wish, making them estic, adhesive, or sharp like bdes. Besides that, my demon also possesses poison."

  "The weakness?" Jyu asked curiously.

  "Svider has weak physical endurance."

Jyu fell silent for a moment. "Your power is very unique. Very effective for long-range combat."

"He is my manifestation," Sizhi said softly.

This statement naturally made Jyu confused. "What do you mean?"

"Have you ever thought that the demon powers of the Surcy are obtained randomly?"

"As far as I know, no! Surcy gains demon powers based on what they truly master. Like me, I love sewing. And my demon’s power is a spider whose ability is thread."

What Sizhi said was true. In truth, demon powers are based on what a Surcy masters the most. It becomes their special ability, manifested as demon power.

Basically, the core of a person’s soul determines their demon power. The two must coexist side by side, thus forming a tremendous strength.

Sizhi’s words were like unveiling the curtain of demon power. Jyu kept thinking about Kuma and what he had mastered all this time.

"If my demon is Kuma, does that mean..."
