Chapter 7

" Are we all ready?,” Salena asked while checking to make sure she had all her weapons. Then looking out at her group. “Right then let's go in. Looks like we have a pittrap at the entrance that must take care of a lot of big animals, pretty good for a beginner dungeon.”

As the group makes its way into the first room they notice mushrooms everywhere of all different types, some with red caps, some with flared caps, some lion's mane, some edible, most poisonous. There is also one lone rabbit lvl zero. The light source is minimal and seems to be coming from the ceiling giving off shadows.

“ This dungeon starts off really really easy.” Jacob says to Steven.

  ****

“Look, look,”Ceselee urges Drake. "We have visitors.”

“ Ah, maybe one small rabbit isn't enough for the 1st room If they are already complaining.” Drake points out.

“We will change it after they leave. Right now we're saving up enough mana to do the rooms for the next level now shush lets watch what they do so we can see what to improve for next time.” Ceselee sighed.

  *****

“One rabbit down. Huh, looks like we git to keep it, that means skins and meat are rewards.” Steven bends down to pick up the rabbit to place in his bag underneath he notices there is a copper coin. “ Well it looks like this dungeon has copper coins with unique pictures of plants and animals on it. This one is a rabbit munching on mushrooms. It will be interesting to see what the next one will be. But at least we git copper.”

The mages look around. Ivy comments, “There are a couple of magical mushrooms in here we can probably use in potions. Let's collect those.”

“I'll collect the edible mushrooms there are a few. We may have to put a guard that knows mushrooms to keep the poisonous ones from being removed. And put up a sign to show desirable ones.”

  ****

“Okay, taking notes, we need to put more edible mushrooms in that room. Not like it will do us any good killing people outside.” Ceselee suggests,” At least I moved my mushroom room to my 1st room.”

Drake moans and grabs a strand of his long hair, “It's our simplest room. But yeah I guess you're right.”

“They're moving to the hallway.” Ceselee points out.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

" Okay, watch your step, there are traps here, here, and here, " Salena points out. " Okay, first one is a trip trap, second is the pressure plate for that trap would have gotten a face full if not watching, third is a pit trap."

The team tip toes and jumps around all the traps. To get to the doorway. It was intricately carved. Nymphs and fairies playing in high fields on the door. Gleaming circular brass handles hung in the middle. The high arch of the door was attached to what looked like realistic trees, their branches over the top.

Opening the door, the group stood looking into the next room. The scene before them was wild. Vines hang on the wall with fruits and flowers on display. The lighting seemed to slowly move from one side to the other from the ceiling spreading out over the entire room. Bright bursts of flowers of all colors and shapes popped up from the floor. The vivid blue, yellows, red, and various shades in between blinding one's eyes. The room was immeasurable because of all the greenery. It deceived the eye. Suddenly a group of snakes popped up and tried to strike one of the mages. In a quick move the mage dodged. Steven and Jacob moved forward in front of the rest of the group. The battle was fast and the snakes were cut down without a second thought.

  They collected all the carcasses.

"This room is an herbalist gold mine.” Salena said in ahhwww.

Everyone started to collect the various plants.

Eve looked around, “So many herbs are used in healing here. I wonder how the dungeon collected so many.”

“ I love this room. I can spend forever here if it wasn't for the monsters.” Ivy enthusiasm overflowed in giddy giggles.

" One for me, one for sale, one for me, one for sale. Oh, even some cooking herbs." Willow said, talking to herself.

  ****

"Eeek, they are decimating my flower garden. At least I'm getting massive amounts of mana otherwise I don't know if I'd be worth having to grow everything back after they leave." Ceselee said in sorrow. "Drake, are the snakes really okay in that room? Maybe it needs to be more powerful."

" This is only our first floor, it's fine. We don't want to overpower anything, killing too many in one swoop, although it will happen, I hope it doesn't happen for many many levels, it just doesn't sit well with me." Drake soothed as he sat on top of Ceselee's hidden crystal body protected by what looks like a bigger core sitting above her in a false pedestal.

"What is that? Someone in the room dropped something in there. Oh! I absorbed it before they noticed it wasn't in their Aura range hehehehe." Ceselee giggled. She quickly tried to identify it, "Humm, must be higher than I can identify but it seems to conduct magic pretty easily. I'll have to try again later. And experiment with it in the meantime. I'll make a copy and give it to the one who dropped it. I don't like stealing things but copying them is fine."

  ****

"Crap" Ian complained, "I dropped my mithril wand. That thing cost me an arm and a leg to get."

Just before he turned around to look for it a small flash of light blinked in and the wand copy appeared.

"Oh, thank the Gods, I thought the dungeon had absorbed it." Ian picked it up and it felt different. Lighter somehow almost as if all the impurities were removed. "Group up we need a privacy bubble."

As everyone joined in and the bubble was formed it shimmered creating an opaque iridescent sound proof bubble.

  ****

"Wonder why they did that?" Drake frowned.

"I think me giving a copy of the the dropped wand that guy called it is what did it." Ceselee lamented.
