Episode 5 - The Cost Of Awareness

  Recap :

  She smile

“That time,” she continued, “you won’t kneel”

  My heart pounded

  “How?”

She tapped my chest with the wooden blade.

  “Because I don’t train cowards”

She turned to leave, then paused “Oh—and William?”

  I replied “Yes?”

She said, “If you want to have a master again,” she said, glancing back, “make sure you earn it.”

  She walked away.

Man why women were always walked away with some complex and hard words.

  Episode 5

In all the fantasy worlds the opposing force to magic is anti magic so what if I'm an anti–magic user.

But it does not make sense in my case

Well I need more proofs to verify my body mechanics is differ from others.

  SATURDAY MORNING

I still can't lift my hands. I wonder how I trained with her. She might have taught me the basics of sword arts but I need to develop my own.

What if both worlds are the same or I might have traveled to the past.

Whatever I will definitely meet Aisha.

As usual I went to Quest hall.

The Guild Hall smelled the same.

Old stone. Laughing all around the place.

  I stepped inside.

The noise crashed into me all at once. Steel clashing. Essence flaring like cheap fireworks. The air itself felt heavy, thick with power I couldn’t touch.

  And near the entrance—Him.

Green cape. Same crooked posture. Same bored eyes that only lit up when someone fell.

  His fingers twitched.

I felt it before I saw it.

A ripple along the stone floor. A subtle distortion. Magic so minor it wasn’t even worth naming—just enough to make someone lose balance. Just enough to humiliate.

  I didn’t stop walking.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

  My foot came down.

The stone softened for a heartbeat.

  I adjusted.

Shifted my weight. Rolled my ankle. Let the trick slide beneath me like water.

  I didn’t fall.

  I stopped walking.

  Slowly, I turned my head.

  Our eyes met.

  His widened.

I smiled “Careful,” I said lightly, like we were sharing a joke. “If you keep using the same trick, someone might think you’re lazy.”

  A few heads turned.

  His jaw tightened.

I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “Or worse—predictable.”

I took one more step forward, then paused.

“Oh” I added, scratching the back of my neck, pretending to think. “Though… I guess I already fell for it twice.”

I chuckled. “So maybe that makes me the idiot.”

  His face flushed.

Laughter rippled behind us—quiet, uncertain, but real.

This is the reality no one cares about strangers and no one is permanent.

I walked away before he could respond.

  My heart was pounding.

  Not from fear.

  From something else.

So this is what it feels like, I thought.

  Not power. Awareness.

  I reached the quest board.

The higher-ranked quests were gone, as always. Gold and Silver never left scraps behind.

  What remained was familiar.

  QUEST BOARD

Bronze II – Wild Goat Wool Collection (10 units from void forest)

Note: Meat may be sold independently

  I took it.

This is the first time I felt that the task is rewarding.

  Signed my name.

The paper felt heavier than it should have.

As I turned away, my thoughts drifted—uninvited.

  Aisha

Her smile at the platform. The way she said my name. The way my chest tightened every time I remembered her.

I will return to her before that time arrive

  I didn’t know when.

  I didn’t know how

But I knew I would see her again.

Time runs so fast when I think about her, I have arrived in the void forest.

The Void Forest was just like a normal hiking forest…

The trees were twisted, barks darkened as if burned long ago. Mist clung low to the ground, thick and cold. The deeper I went, the quieter it became.

  I walked carefully.

Goat tracks were easy to spot. Split hooves. Trampled grass.

  Then—Blood

  I stopped

  A body lay ahead.

A wild magic goat. It's throat torn out. Wool scattered uselessly across the dirt, soaked red.

  Another carcass nearby. Then another.

My stomach tightened. This isn’t hunting.

  I moved forward slowly.

That’s when I heard it, Steel biting into flesh.

  A grunt.

  Then a wet, tearing sound.

  I crouched behind a tree.

A boy stood in a small clearing.

  My age.

His hand waved, pointing the goat Essence flaring faintly around him as he cut down another goat mid-charge.

These goats are Wild and also a typical magical beast but he took them down at ease.

He just went straight into the

  Hall property.

  Reserved zone.

This zone is a place where they do research and reserve animals which are near extinct and rare animals and plants.

He raised his palm upwards, and soon the temperature around him felt hotter. It's suffocating to even stand in front of him.

A bright flash when I blink eyes, there were no animals and even the 2 guards were turned into ashes.

This is the crown level crime, well anything that relates to Hall just went so high for no reason.

I have left without any thought.

I collected the 10 wools from the wild goats and went straight to the Hall.

I have given the wools and got my reward 2 bronze coins, and also I have said about the things I have seen there.

The front desk girl eyes were jumped to Le eyes and shouted “is this REAL!!!” “ARE YOU SURE!!! “

  I nodded my heads,

  Mumurs spread,

A Green robed man stepped “You know the punishment for accusing an adventurer, right?”

  Someone laughed nervously.

  “I do” I said

But idk what they will do, one thing is for sure it won't be taken so lightly.

They put all the top Adventurers into this new quest and the pay is so high they are giving 1 diamond coin.

It will take eternity to earn a single diamond coin for me.

The Hall were so rushed and the man crown 1 whispered near me “If it's fake I will tear you and sell to the slave market ”

I just swallowed my saliva and nodded.

  He smirked “Good boy ”

Man Idk what have I done, I hope they capture him or else I can't meet Aisha.

Man why is this happening to me at a time like this, I just now decided not to die after I meet Luna but….

This day is so stressful for me, I can't do more than this.

I still have lots of time left so after my breakfast I again went to practice.

I meditated for 30 mins and quickly shifted to strike practice.

The main goal is to take the opponent in one big shot and escape.

My hips were wide and my knees bent a bit and my back was straight. I rotate my hip clockwise and then hit the target which is a tree.

This is so impossible to break the tree with one shot then how can I beat the 3 mages.

After a long practice I went to sleep.

  Sunday morning

Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong!

Man what is this sound, is there any war is starting.

When I open my door, the group of people rapidly hitting the bell. I asked one of the person “what's the matter? “

He shouted at me “I can't hear you mulf”

What does it mean by mulf, whatever.

  I shouted at him ”what's happening? , why it's so loud? ”

He shouted back at me “Hall order, are you new? ”

Before I nod he went forward.

As usual I have gone to practice my sword skills and do some physical exercises to make sure my body keeps up with the sword skills.

When I returned home, I saw my card was blinking.

When I picked it there's some virtual message.

“Every Adventurers are ordered to come to the Guild Execution Hall on morning “

Ohh shit this is already near afternoon, when I rushed to the place it was so crowded.

  I can hear the mutters

  “She deserved it “

“sheesh they could have sent her to slave market”

“yoo she's so gorgeous in red I wanted to…. @*%$@’?“

What the hell are they talking about, when I saw the execution platform. Where a woman was kneeling while her dress and skin were torn apart and whip marks all over her body and she's fully covered with blood.

How could they enjoy watching this type of sh*t
