Neon light flickered against wet concrete.

The undercity of Vexon never slept — it buzzed with broken signs, cheap electricity, and the heartbeat of those the upper world had forgotten.

Riven Dax ran through a maze of narrow alleys, boots splashing through puddles that glowed faint yellow from dying lamps.

Behind him came the thunder of armored boots.

“Stop him! He stole the cells!”

Riven laughed — a sharp, reckless sound that bounced off steel and smoke.

“You’re gonna have to catch me first!”

He slid under a low pipe, vaulted a barrier, then kicked off a wall to grab a dangling cable. Sparks flared as it ripped free — energy snapping alive between his hands.

For a heartbeat, the world burned gold.

  The guards stopped, blinded.

When their sight cleared, Riven was gone — only a faint shimmer of static marked where he’d been.

He landed on a rooftop, chest heaving, grin wide.

“Still got it,” he muttered, tossing the stolen power cells into his satchel. “For people who think they control energy… they sure don’t know how to run.”

Above him, lightning flickered — not wild, but patterned, rhythmic.

  Almost like music.

  Riven frowned. “That’s new.”

He gazed over the city — a sprawl of cables and neon scars.

And for the first time, every light began to pulse together. Gold. White. Gold. White.

The pattern formed something he couldn’t read — yet somehow, he understood.

  Then the world paused.

A voice, distorted yet ancient, echoed through every flickering screen:

  “Come to the Academy.”

  Riven froze. “Who’s there?”

  No answer.

Only static — vibrating in perfect rhythm with his pulse.

He lifted his hand. Sparks danced again, but softer this time — humming like a familiar tune.

Electric lines traced his arms, wrapping him in molten gold. His jacket gleamed, leather etched with lightning veins.

His eyes caught the light — wild, alive, untamed.

  He smirked.

“Well… guess I’m invited. And I do love a good rebellion.”

Far east, beyond the smog, the storm clouds split open — revealing a faint shimmer of silver. The same call that had reached Lyra, Seren, and Eira.

He pulled his hood over his glowing eyes.

Electricity danced at his heels as the city flickered beneath him like a living heartbeat.

“Alright, Academy,” he whispered, grin sharp as thunder.

“Let’s see if you can handle a little chaos.”

Then he leapt — and the lights of Vexon flared one by one, laughing with their favorite troublemaker.

#A.ZS ??=The lightning laughed tonight — will you follow its echo?

“Ash and Memory” — where fire remembers what love once meant.
