Chapter 1: Living hell

  Lily Vane, the main girl of this story, the girl who knows giving up wasn't in her list, she knows giving up will only make her fall deeper in the void she was already falling in.

  From childhood, she dreamed of being ‘An Actor’. Her parents were famous in the Hollywood history but soon their downfall started, when Lily was born. Lily’s mother thought that Lily herself stole all her beauty. Lily was an angel looking girl with light brown hair, which shine like gold when in the sun, fair and smooth skin, and eyes like if you look into them you will drown in them. They threw all their stress on her,but..now she's getting used to it.

  Lily Vane, who never complained about living in the hell she was in; because she knew screaming won't give you a lead role. As she turned seven, the shouting in next room grew more in these years, she ignored them, turned on the TV sat in front of it keeping the volume full. They thought she will bear everything because she's a burden and she knew it but who knows how much pain behind the sweet smile of hers and those eyes, that never met theirs. She did the house chores, avoided being with them; she kept her distance to avoid being shouted on. She screamed but in her mind, no one hears her neither they wanted.

  Her father’s heavy footsteps coming towards her room every morning, she already sensed he is not in a very good mood…he never was. He opened the door, she fake smiled he didn't reacted , he took his belt, the walls creaked, silence lingers in the air. She knew what was coming, she was prepared, he started beating her. She did not ounce a word nor screamed neither cried, he continued… after satisfying himself he was gone, he closed the door with a loud thud. For a moment, she just sat there, not knowing what to do now… as she slowly gets up she went in the bathroom, looked at herself and smiled thinking “I am…brave”, it was like a routine now. One day, a thing happened that was likely supposed to; her parents got divorced and separated, no one wanted so they left her with a neighbour, aunt Melissa, she was eighty-five years old kind, sweet and caring old lady.

  When only things were going smoothly life’s cruelty strikes, Lily's aunt had a heart attack when Lily was out for a stroll, she got a call from the hospital as Lily panicked and picked the call. Her voice randomly cracked “He-hello?” A thick voice from responded “Ms.Lily, we’re sorry for…” before they could complete she knew what was coming…no…it had happened. She waited “we can't save your nanny, sh-she’s no more” they completed, for another moment she stood there it's not like she didn't knew what was coming…she tried not to cry but still the tears came, she didn't knew when. She thought she was again left alone…again and she was just fifteen.

  Fortunately, aunt Melissa had a daughter who lived in Los Angeles and was ready to be with Lily as her nanny and sister. Melissa’s daughter name was “Lara Reed”, as Lily was on her way to Los Angeles in the flight, some thoughts came in her mind like “will she treat me good?”, “Is she like her mother?”, “will we get along?”. These thoughts keep coming in Lily’s mind until she reached there, she was looking for Lara while holding her luggage. She was looking for the same girl which was in the picture, she looked here and there, then she saw a girl coming towards her like exactly in the picture. That girl’s long-red hair, big blue eyes and tall, beautiful, she was wearing clothes like she was going to a party or something, she examined Lily up and down. Lily wore a cargo pant with a T-shirt she nervously looked at Lara, “hi?”. They both greeted each other and after few days with Lara, Lily started to feel like Lara was her sister and Lara thought the same, Lara supported her in every way. Lara worked from home and she got enough salary for both of them. Lara knew that Lily wanted to be an actor so she looked for best acting academies. Lily had her vacations; she didn't want to put pressure on Lara, so she insisted on having a part-time job.

  “You don't have to do anything,Lily, I will handle it by my own”

  “Lara, you have done much for me, please I insist let me help”

  “You really don't need to”

  “Please, Lara, please”

  “It is my responsibility to take care of you, Lily, don't pressure yourself”

  “I will not talk to you if you don't allow it!”

  “God…fine you can but only in nearby areas”

  Excited “That's my girl!”. Both laughed and sat to eat the dinner.

  Next day, Lily went out to find a part-time job and after finding so much, she finally got a job as a waitress at Neon Bean cafè. Lily came home and told it all to Lara.

  “Really?, so happy for you, so when are you starting?”. Lily excitedly jumped next to Lara “yes,from tomorrow, night shift”.

  Lara’s face turned worried “are you really sure about that? Creeps wander around at that hour, you know, right?”. Lily startled “huh, yeah of course I know that!”. Silence lingers.

  As Lily entered the coffee shop, her nose was filled with the smell of roasted beans and fresh coffee. She started her work, wore her apron and waited for the customers. As customers arrive, some ordered coffee, some ordered latte, everyone knew that Lily was new in the town, they stared at her as the drank their coffee but Lily…ignored as always. Everything was so smooth, that Lily forgot that what her past was like and what she used to be. But whenever she remembers her past she just smiles, her eyes filled with tears as she says “how cruel life can be”. Then the day came which she hated the most...
