I stifled a laugh as Avarice ignored her.
"We'll take this one down just like the last. First, we should let Raina and the Ryfa Pakt know when we get all the details. Maybe we'll be able to stop him if everyone bands together."
"Take him down?" Avarice shook his head. "Even if that were possible, we don't even know where he is. He finished his recording by saying, 'It's almost there.' And how he needs one more push before the culling begins.... Perhaps wherever he's currently at, he's finishing the final preparations."
"He's not Celestial-caliber, right? Once the whole planet's on alert for him, I doubt there's much he can do," Za'Fia flicked a battle figurine back on the desk with disinterest. "You know? This guy's worse than you, Avarice, but his ambitions are similar to what yours once were."
"Strikingly so," Avarice agreed, slightly annoyed by the similarities. "He's even somehow managed to manipulate key figures with his peculiar power. Only difference is he's choosing to keep his face hidden altogether. I understand wanting to hide his involvement, but apparently, he doesn't even want anyone to know who's pulling the strings until it's too late. It has something to do with his fear of the Celestial returning."
"What makes you think it's that?" I asked him.
"He mentioned a 'him' with fear and disdain in his recording. The Celestial's the only person I can think of capable of making the most powerful being on the planet be afraid. Especially if he's supposedly a Tenshu, making him at least a 5-star threat."
"He could also want to stay hidden because the possibility that everyone rising against him could defeat him," I added. "Remember, Raina said though he's powerful, he can be subdued with sufficient numbers. This is why Raina and her commanders are aware of him and know not to antagonize him, but if need be, they have safety measures to take against him if he directly attacks."
"But if what he said about the army, whoever his grandfather is, gathered, their precautions won't matter if he's acquired enough puppets and outside forces to pose a threat to everyone. Even if they thought they'd have a safety precaution, it was stupid to let someone who's known to be a problem roam free unsupervised," Za'Fia said, following behind us as we left the room and shut the secret door behind us. We watched as everything moved back in place until it was completely hidden again.
"Not if they all believe they're protected by the blood oath he gave." Avarice reminded her.

"Oh yeah, well that explains why, I guess," Za'Fia conceded, still unhappy with the outcome.
After that, we decided to leave before Aeric returned home. Perhaps it was best we not run into him yet. Once we were a distance away, I noticed a curious expression on Avarice's face.
For a moment, it felt like we were being watched, but I don't detect anyone.
I enhanced my vision to look out and see if I could detect anyone, but saw that no one was following us.
Maybe you're paranoid. Afraid the zasshu's going to come? Me too, I teased him as we continued toward Forgeton. I noticed him take one last glance back before continuing with us.
