The Day That Started Everything: Aldreds POV: Part-2

  10:05 PM

" Uhh...good evening, sir!" Aldred said nervously at the sudden appearance of Dunn and Derrick.

" Good evening...Mr Aldred!" Mr Derrick said with a serious look on his face.

Dunn bought a smile on his face and said," Well...I guess you already know the reason behind our sudden appearance!

" We only have a few questions to ask, and then there is something which I want to examine, don't worry, we are not going to arrest you!"

Aldred sighed at the comment passed by Dunn and left space for them both to enter his room.

Immediately, Dunn felt something odd in this room.

His eyes changed their pupil appearance to an ice crystal. Everything was clear now.

He saw an extreme blue spot on Aldred's bag.

  " I see...A book!" He said.

Immediately, Aldred's heart started to beat at an extraordinary rate.

How? He questioned the existence itself.

Dunn opened his bag and pulled out the book, glanced at it for a few seconds, and then rotated it a few times.

" Where did you find this?" Dunn asked without hesitating, trying to expose him.

Aldred knew that Dunn knew about something he was unaware of; hence, he had only one option, and that was to spill the truth. But he hesitated," I...found it in the market!"

Dunn Smith sighed as he said," Fine! But, how will you explain this note?" He pulled out Aldred's parents' note. He read it out loud," No matter what happens, don't tell anyone about this book! And, anyone is spelled wrong."

Aldred's pulse skipped a beat as he sat on his bed beside Mr Derrick.

He knew that Mr Derrick was a kind person and especially cared a lot about Aldred and Kyra, so he looked at him in hopes that he would answer Dunn. Derrick looked back and sighed," Take your stand in this, I am not involved!"

Are you serious!!! Aldred's inner voice screamed.

" I...do..." He was stopped by Dunn, who said,

" It is your parents' note, isn't it?"

How? How did he guess so quickly? Aldred's inner voice started to crash out.

" You think I don't know anything about you, do you now?" His smile faded away as he got more serious.

" Then the reality kicks in..." He continued," That I know a lot about you, more than anyone else, even more than Indhra!" He said while trying to intimidate Aldred.

" Uhh..." Aldred thought about the excuses he could give, but then the reality kicked in. If he somehow saw the book in the bag, he could probably sense lies, too. So he decided to say the truth," I...don't know!"

Dunn Smith smirked at his honesty as he said," Fine! I believe you, but...still, you have to inform the government before reading something like this!"

He continued," If you are wondering whether the contents in this book are true or not, then I am here. It is a hundred per cent fact that is stated in this book!"

Was it really that easy? Aldred said sarcastically.

Dunn opened the book and read a few words, the index. He assumed that Aldred's parents' note was the bookmark.

" I see...You already know a lot! And also that omnipotence doesn't work on you anymore!" he then thought in his mind. Whatever is in his mind is manipulating the omnipotence.

His new ice vision sensed a huge Mana reserve in Aldred's brain. His brain...I see! The vision blurred out for a few seconds, and then the vision changed back to normal.

" Uhh...May I ask you a question?" Aldred asked permission from Dunn. Dunn nodded as he got ready to answer the questions," How did you find the book?"

" You see, every awakener has a special vision mode which is accessible, that is known as the Mana Vision mode. You can sense and see mana reserves with this new mode," he turned back to look at the book which he had placed on Aldred's table earlier," For some reason, this book. Contains its own Mana, which made it easy for me to sense it!"

Aldred remembered the gore movie he had seen earlier, where the main character changed his vision and could sense strong people, and he then killed those people brutally. I hope Dunn will not use his Mana Vision like him! He chuckled at a joke he said to himself.

He looked up to meet Dunn, who sat at the table," Mr Dunn! Does Omnipotence only affect non-awakeners?" He was thinking about this question since the day when Kyra changed her mind to see the massacre area.

" Well...It depends. If there is a non-awakener person whom 47 feels he can trust, then omnipotence doesn't affect him. But, the reality is that even I don't know much Omnipotence myself!" Dunn's smile faded as he thought of 47 in front of Aldred.

" So..." Aldred turned his gaze to Mr Derrick," You're an awakener or not?"

Mr Derrick smiled back and blinked once, and his pupils turned to a dark shogun sword.

" You're from the Shogun clan?" Aldred asked after looking at the sword in his pupil.

" Correct!" There is a reason why Mr Derrick likes Aldred more than any other student, that is because he is smart, cunning, and determined.

" Well, your parents..." Dunn stopped for a few seconds," Never mind!" His looks changed slightly enough for Aldred to understand that something was off.

Dunn nearly forgot the reason he came here; it was not to give Aldred information about his parents, but it was instead to know about his scar.

" Well! I have...some work with Aldred, so...Mr Derrick, can you leave?" Dunn calmly, respectfully asked Derrick. Mr Derrick smiled, nodded, and left the room by shutting the door behind him.

" So...may I know the 'work' that you have with me?" Aldred asked hesitantly while he tapped his feet on the floor repeatedly.

" Can you show your scar?" Dunn Smith asked with full confidence. His blood is the cure, remember that!

Aldred gently removed the bandages and showed the weird diamond scar on his palm.

This scar reminded him of the classic demon possession scars. Since Dunn was an awakener, he was always sent to spirit or demon possession cases, which were generally easy to solve. But this kid in front of him had killed three Lemoyne-trained spies with ease by a mysterious power.

Dunn came forward in front of Aldred. He gently used his hand to lift Aldred's palm to glance at the scar.

It looked a bit different from a usual demon possession scar, like the edges were rougher than usual, with a black, weird shadow.

If Akuma believes this is special, then it is special; there is no doubt about it! He sighed as he gently rubbed his thumb against the rough scar.

He closed his eyes as an aura covered Aldred's palm. Aldred all of a sudden felt strong.

He got a vision of Dunn's point of view. The vision showed him a small, gentle soul training who looked similar to Indhra. Aldred quickly realised that it was none other than Indhra.

Dunn opened his eyes as nothing happened. He pulled his hand and absorbed his own mana.

He heard a heartbeat, and that was when a sharp pain gushed through his head. His heart rate increased as he fell to the floor.

He blinked once and then noticed that his pain was gone, vanished as it had never struck.

He looked up as two large figures, or to say giants, in front of him, with ornaments and armour. One had the symbol of time, and the other had the symbol of space.

With a blink of an eye, those two figures exploded with a shockwave that stretched Dunn's muscles back in this void.

The fragments of those two figures combined to form a tilted monster-like being whose one side was completely burnt, while the other side prospered and in the centre was a diamond symbol.

Dunn's eyes widened as he saw this spectacle happen in front of his eyes.

He blinked again, and with this blink, the monster-like being exploded and formed a grey rectangular table surrounded by grey grand chairs with one huge chair on the end of the long table.

The rest of the monster's body formed a human-looking creature with nice hair, a nice dress, and green eyes.

Dunn wanted to kneel badly due to the sheer presence of that being.

The being with a serious look rested his face on his fist, which was placed on the long grey table.

With a sigh, he said with a deep, intimidating voice," Gazing at a God directly may kill you!" The figure then tightened its gaze at Dunn as it continued," Never heard about it before?" It smiled," Then die!" He said with sharp eyes gazing directly at Dunn's soul.

Quickly, the surroundings started to melt down as everything, including the figure, collapsed. Dunn blinked twice, and then he saw a black hole, then a galaxy, and then infinity.

He blinked again while gulping and saw that he was back in Aldred's room.

Everything felt normal for a few milliseconds, but then the situation escalated.

He felt a sharp pain in his brain, then his heart.

He felt a pain in his lungs as he coughed intensely, with each cough increasing the pain.

Blood came out, pumping from his mouth, his nose, and his ears. Quickly, the room was filled with the smell of saliva mixed with iron.

Aldred tried to help him, but to no avail.

He sharply gazed at Aldred as he formed an ice blade and pierced through Aldred's right arm.

Aldred was shocked for a second as he saw his blood gushing out of the wound.

Dunn opened his mouth and drank the blood coming out of Aldred's wound.

Suddenly, he felt relief as the pain subsided. His head and heart were at rest.

Aldred was confused, but Dunn wasn't; he had understood the lesson given by the mighty God he had just seen, that is, not to gaze at Gods directly without their permission!
