Indhra was moving his car on the roads of Luvinia while listening to a radio running in the speakers of his car. The death of Akuma! The speaker of the radio channel spoke, It is a tragedy!
How big a bastard can 47 be? Indhra thought in his mind as he listened to the propaganda that was being spread by a person whose code name was '47.'
47 was Indhra's mentor during Indhra's days in the army. He was a rough teacher, but at the end of the day, he always had a soft spot for all of his students.
He always wore a mask that had the symbol of a crimson bird. The mask had only one hole for the eye. He always tries to keep his identity hidden even from his close ones, like Indhra and Hidoi.
Indhra remembered the time when he and Hidoi, 47's adopted son, enjoyed the times of teenage years. These days, Hidoi is too busy with his mayor works. Yes, Hidoi is the Mayor of the city of Tokyo.
Luvinia covers the northern part of Japan, which also includes Tokyo.
There are in total seven mayors of Luvinia, including Hidoi. Two of the mayors rule the Japanese part of Luvinia, whereas the other five rule the European and African parts of Luvinia.
Yes, Luvinia not only has parts of Japan but also has parts of Africa and Europe.
Indhra changed the channel of the Radio to run into 'Luvinia Times', which is a news radio channel. In Luvinia, for some reason, televisions and mobiles do not work anymore. Many devices like mobiles are banned in other areas of Luvinia, but are not banned in Japan.
Mobiles only work as a medium for calling. The concept of the Internet has mysteriously vanished.
Indhra remembered the history books he learned from his childhood. It said that Luvinia was not always a communist country, but instead it was a monarchy to begin with. King Charles, who was the fifth ruler of Luvinia, made many advancements. He is also known as the king of technology and machinery. He discovered Nuclear energy, thermal energy, and a lot more. He also invented chess in this world, which wasn't a thing earlier.
Luvinia is an atheist country, but few people think that this was not the case from the beginning. These people also believe in a mysterious god named 'Kamui', whom they believe as the creator of everything. But these days, 'Kamui' is slang in Luvinia. This name or word is banned in this country for some unknown reason.
Indhra believes in Kamui. If he doesn't exist, then why did Akuma fear his name so much that he had to ban the word Kamui? Indhra thought to himself while moving the steering wheel to the right. He pressed the brakes to park beside an enormous black building. Indhra parked the car and got out of it.
One step at a time. He said to himself while exiting the car.
He locked the door behind him with the key. He then looked up to see two enormous creations of humans. The two Taka Castles. Both were completely black, which camouflaged them in the red fog or the red pollution of Luvinia.
The two castles had their own names. 'Asguard', the building of the president of Luvinia. The other castle was 'The Olympus', where the nobles, royals, and the Mayors live. There are in total of seven floors in Olympus, each one having its own specialty. The basement and the first floor were the prison. The second and third floors were for the guards who had no homes in Luvinia. The fourth floor was an area where a few commoners who were rich enough lived. The fifth floor consisted of dining areas and a few flats where a few royals and Nobles lived. The sixth floor consisted of flats only for the nobles and the Royals. And the final floor, or the seventh floor, consisted of multiple floored BHKs for the mayors and their families.
There was no gate to enter Asguard; instead, you have to go through the top floor of Olympus to enter Asguard from the 'bridge of Qliphoth' , which connects the two castles from the top floor of Olympus.
Indhra has come here to pay his taxes. The tax room was present on the third floor.
Indhra entered the castle through a small door that was beside the big gate of Taka. This small door was for the commoners to enter the castle for their own reasons. This time, Indhra was entering the castle to pay his corporate tax. There are four major types of direct taxes in Luvinia that each citizen has to pay for their own type of job. If you are a businessman, then you have to pay corporate tax. If you are a person with a formal job that is allowed by the government, then you have to pay income tax. If you are investing in any business, then a part of the interest is charged by the government, which is known as the investment tax. If you have a property, then you have to pay a real estate tax to the government.

As Indhra entered the castle, the greenery inside caught his eye. This was the reception area of the castle. This area was clean, with AC, which was also invented by King Charles or the fifth emperor of Luvinia. This area was rushing with citizens for their own reasons.
Indhra joined a line that was not very long.
The line ended as Indhra reached the receptionist, Rozane. " How can..." Her eyes saw Indhra. She gave a smile as she stood up with excitement," Indhra!" She shouted. Indhra's cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
" Calm down!" He said silently to her. She quickly realized that she was at work and sat in her chair.
" So... How can I help you?" She asked with a cute smile. Indhra gave back a smile as he saw others staring at him.
" Uhh... Well, I have to pay my tax!" Rozane wasn't surprised since Indhra always came to her for this job.
Rozane handed a paper from the desk below her table to Indhra," Please sign here!" She said while handing a pen to Indhra.
After signing, Indhra slightly bowed to her with a slight respect.
Rozane took the paper away as a map of Luvinia appeared below the paper. Indhra's smile slowly faded as he saw the discrimination. The Taka was divided into three parts: the Plooseeos, the wealthy part, which was located at the centre, with the castle. The Tahksis, the part where middle-class people live. Indhra lives in this region. The Pthokhos, or the poor region. People here are not humans anymore. The world beyond this area doesn't exist, atleast that is what the books say. The pollution gradually increases as the wealth decreases in the regions.
Indhra thought about how the rich use the poor. Around a hundred years ago, a law was introduced in Luvinia that said all the factories would be moved to Pthokhos, which decreased the pollution in the Plooseeos and the Tahkis but gradually increased the pollution in the Pthokhos. The poor people are treated as animals. Many of them come to Tokyo, which is a part of Plooseeos, to work in the castles as slaves since there are no other jobs for them.
He felt pity, as well as a bit of anger, for the nobles and royals who toy with the poor.
Rozane jolted as she saw the angry face.
Indhra noticed the change in her expression, so he quickly, forcefully, brought a smile to his face.
" Thank you!" He kept his fist on his heart. This was how people saluted or thanked a person in Luvinia.
He turned right as Rozane pressed a button on her table.
He started walking in the reception area.
He pressed the lift button. A magical, advanced lift departed from the top floor.
The door was bright orange, which was see-through. The door opened from down to up.
Indhra entered the lift and said," Third floor!" The door closed and moved up to the third floor and halted. The door opened as Indhra stepped out.
It was a corridor with a white carpet spread across it. The corridor had many flats for the rich commoners who lived here.
He walked to the tax area, which was at the end of the corridor. He slowly opened the door to reveal a room with a bright white light. There was a red carpet just after the door.
A person was sitting on a chair behind his table. In front of the table, there was another chair for the civilians who come here.
" May I..." Indhra asked permission from the person sitting in the chair to enter the room. The person was writing something on a paper until he heard Indhra's voice. He looked up and gave a gentle smile. He quickly hid the paper below his desk and closed the pen.
Indhra sat on the chair and said," Mister Dunn Smith!" He continued," I came to pay my taxes!" Indhra said with a calm smile.
" Oh!" Dunn quickly moved his body and took a scanner below his table. He kept it on the table and pressed a button on it. A bright blue light projected from the machine as it scanned Indhra's face. The machine recognized and projected a symbol of thumb.
Indhra quickly placed his thumb on the machine, which scanned it. Indhra immediately removed his thumb. After a few seconds, the machine projected a smile and a text,' Payment done!'
Indhra stood up and bowed slightly at Dunn," Thank you so much!" He said with a thankful smile.
Dunn also stood up and gave a generous smile.
Before leaving, Indhra asked a question. He opened the door. But, before leaving, he asked," Mr Dunn! If there is no problem, then can you please tell where Mr Hidoi Gustav is?"
Dunn, with his usual smile, replied," At the basement, uhh..." He took a sheet of paper from his desk," The interrogation room!" He said while reading the paper.
*
The basement chamber stank of blood and fear, lit only by a sickly red bulb.
" What is Menchent’s goal?" Hidoi asked again, voice flat. The prisoner—naked, chained to a metal chair, skin flayed in strips—laughed through broken teeth. " Why… would I ever tell you?"
Hidoi’s shoulders sagged. A single tear slid down his cheek. Then his face hardened.
He swung the iron rod. It connected with the man's jaw, bone shattered with a wet crunch. Teeth scattered across the floor like dice. The prisoner screamed, a raw animal sound that echoed off the walls.
Hidoi didn't stop. Another swing cracked ribs. Another pulled a knee. Blood sprayed in arcs, painting the mayor’s crisp uniform crimson.
The other interrogators watched in silence, faces twisted with rage—and something darker. Hidoi leaned in close, rod dripping. " Last chance."The prisoner spat a mouthful of blood and shattered enamel into Hidoi’s face. Hidoi wiped it away slowly. Then he drove the rod straight through the man’s thigh, twisting until the scream cut off into a gurgling choke answer came. Only the wet thud of metal on meat, again and again, long after the body stopped twitching.
