Dante found Lucian at his office in the guard house. Dante told him about their encounter with the vampire and where it took place. “That building is supposed to be abandoned but I know that the building is owned by a local lord. Did you find anything that might point to those who were gathering there?” Lucian asked. “No, we found some evidence of the gathering, some papers and signs, but we did not find anything that could identify the people involved. The men we discovered in the building were carried off by the vampire before they could be identified.” Dante said. Lucian stood and looked out a window at the growing shadows of the afternoon. He turned and opened his mouth to speak when suddenly there was a bang on the door. Lucian told whoever was at the door to enter.
A young guard enter the room and snapped to attention as he reported that a young man had entered the guard house and was telling a story about his sister being abducted by a vampire. Lucian ordered him to be brought in, and Dante was surprised when he saw Willow being brought into the office. The guards helped him get into a seat and Lucian told him to tell his story. Willowed laid out a story of how he and sister had been out in the city. They were returning to the inn where they were staying when a pale man with bat wings came out of the air. The monster had grabbed out as he landed, and Iris had pushed Willow over and had been grabbed. He had been forced to watch as the vampire flew away as others had come out of nearby buildings to see what was occurring. Willow looked at Lucian after his story and then at Dante. They knew that they could not leave Willow alone, and Dante said he would take him back to the manor where he should be safe. Lucian offered them an escort back to the Manor. “We will finish talking about the meeting spot later. I will place some guards to watch the building. We will also increase patrols to see if we can find signs of Iris.” Lucian said. Dante and Willow nodded. “All of our stuff is still at the Inn,” Willow said. “I will send some of my men to retrieve them when we get you settled back into the manor.” Dante said, “We will also get your sister back Willow.” Willow nodded and Dante helped him up, and they moved out of the building with their escort.

They moved through the city street heading back to the manor. They did not speak much as they moved though the twilight. They did not see the shadow moving across the rooftops watching them as they moved down the cramped city street.
