Morning.
Yuqeen was still lying in Rayn’s bedroom. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, and she sat up gently.
Soft morning light filtered through the curtains, brushing against her face.
At first, nothing made sense. But as she looked around, realization struck her. Startled, she quickly rushed out of the room. Her breath hitched as her surroundings finally came into focus.
In the living room, she found Rayn sitting calmly on the sofa, watching the news. The quiet hum of the television filled the space, making the moment feel oddly normal.
Rayn turned his head, noticed her, and with a soft smile said in a gentle voice:— “Good morning, Yuqeen.”
But Yuqeen, flustered, blurted out quickly:— “Forget that! First tell me — how did I end up in your bedroom?”
Rayn chuckled lightly, his voice carrying a sweet calmness:— “So this is what you’re panicking about?”
He slowly walked closer to her, placed his hand gently on her head, and with a kindness-filled smile said:— “There’s nothing to worry about. Last night, you were in such a deep sleep. I didn’t think it was right to wake you up. And going into your apartment without permission wouldn’t have been proper either. So, I laid you down in my room and slept on the sofa in the living room myself.”
His tone carried no trace of awkwardness, as if the night before had been the most natural thing in the world.
Hearing this, Yuqeen’s face burned with embarrassment. Her cheeks turned crimson red. Heat rushed to her face, and she avoided his eyes completely.
Rayn spoke again in his calm tone:— “I’m making breakfast. Go freshen up and get ready.”
With that, Rayn walked away.
Meanwhile, Yuqeen stepped outside slowly, her face completely red, not knowing what to do with her embarrassment. She was blushing so much, it was impossible not to notice.
After a while, Yuqeen returned to Rayn’s apartment. Slowly, she walked toward the dining table.
Rayn noticed her coming in, and immediately realized — she was still blushing. From her damp hair, it was obvious she had just taken a shower. Tiny drops of water slid down her hair, catching the light as she moved.
Rayn understood everything clearly. Still, he said nothing, gave no reaction at all. He knew — if he mentioned anything, Yuqeen would only blush even more.
A few hours later, at school. The teacher was giving his lecture.
But Yuqeen’s mind wasn’t on the lesson at all. The teacher’s voice faded into background noise, drowned by her own thoughts. She sat at the front, by the window. Her cheeks were still flushed red as she thought to herself:
This morning… I woke up in Rayn’s bed. That means, last night, it was Rayn who carried me there. Did he… see something? Did I say anything in my sleep? But Rayn acted completely normal, as if nothing had happened at all.
Meanwhile, the teacher called Yuqeen’s name several times, but she didn’t notice. Finally, after the third call, Yuqeen suddenly stood up in surprise:— “Yes, Sir?”
The teacher said calmly:— “Hanabirah, what were you lost in? Did you even notice what I was teaching?”
In a soft voice, Yuqeen replied:— “Sorry, Sir… it won’t happen again.”
The teacher told her to sit down. Yuqeen quietly lowered herself back into her seat, but her cheeks only grew redder. Many of her classmates stared at her in surprise.
Whispers rippled through the classroom, making her sink lower in her seat. Meanwhile, seated just behind her, Rayn leaned forward slightly and whispered to himself:— “This girl is way too sensitive.”
Evening.
Rayn was returning home from school. As he reached the bridge, he saw Yuqeen waiting for him — just like every other day. The river below reflected the dimming sky, flowing quietly beneath the bridge.
When Yuqeen noticed him, she gave her usual sweet smile. But today, her cheeks were much redder than yesterday.
Rayn walked up slowly and said in a calm voice:— “Yuqeen, today you should go back to the apartment by yourself.”
Yuqeen looked at him in surprise and asked:— “Why?”
Rayn replied gently:— “I have some work outside again tonight. I’ll be late coming back.”
A brief shadow crossed Yuqeen’s eyes, gone before she could stop it.
Yuqeen wanted to stop him, but in the end, she said nothing. After a moment, she softly whispered:— “Alright.”
With that, Rayn walked away. Yuqeen stood still, her eyes following his back. Only when Rayn had completely disappeared from sight did she slowly begin to walk.
Even though her face showed no expression, it was clear — his repeated disappearances were breaking her heart.
As she walked, she suddenly froze, slightly panicked, as a thought crossed her mind:— “Could it be… Rayn likes another girl?”
Her chest tightened, as if the air around her had suddenly grown heavier. At that very thought, tears slowly welled up in Yuqeen’s eyes.
Meanwhile, Rayn.
He was standing inside a large shopping mall. His eyes were fixed on a glass showcase. Bright lights reflected off the glass, but his focus never wavered from the item inside.
Staring at the item displayed inside, he smiled faintly and whispered:— “I saw this yesterday… Today, I finally have enough money to buy it. But… will she like it?”
Later that night.
Once again, just like the night before, Yuqeen cleaned and organized Rayn’s apartment from top to bottom.
When everything was done, she sat quietly on the sofa. The apartment sparkled, but inside her, an emptiness echoed. The silence felt louder than any noise she could imagine.
The only thought circling in her mind was:— “Why does Rayn suddenly leave like this? Why doesn’t he tell me anything?”

Just then, the door opened — Rayn had returned. His eyes immediately fell on the spotless, glowing apartment. A quiet warmth spread through his chest as he took it all in.
Rayn murmured with a faint smile:— “No one told me… that I’d get a wife without even marrying.”
At that moment, Yuqeen slowly walked toward the door. But this time, she froze in surprise. Because in Rayn’s hands were a shopping bag and a cake box. Yuqeen asked softly:— “What are these, Rayn?”
Rayn, with a gentle smile full of warmth, replied in a calm voice:— “Come inside first, then I’ll tell you.”
Saying this, Rayn walked in, and Yuqeen followed him quietly.
A little while later, they were sitting side by side on the sofa. In Yuqeen’s hands was a long dress — deep blue in color, decorated with shimmering golden embroidery.
The thin sleeves and flowing lower part swayed lightly with the breeze. Around the neckline, tiny pearls were set, glimmering softly as the light touched them.
The fabric shimmered softly, as if made to catch her attention alone. Yuqeen looked a little flustered and quickly raised her voice:— “Why did you buy this?”
Rayn answered calmly:— “You do so much for me, yet I’ve never done anything for you. That’s why… I bought this dress for you.”
Yuqeen frowned slightly and said in a half-angry tone:— “Do you think I do all this expecting something in return? And besides, this is way too expensive!
Rayn replied gently, but with steady calmness:— “Why are you so angry? Am I not allowed to give you something? Do I not have the right to give you anything? I didn’t know what you’d like, so I chose what I liked. Don’t you like this dress?”
Yuqeen softened a little and quietly said:— “That’s not it… I really do like this dress.”
Rayn smiled faintly and said:— “Then it’s decided. This dress is yours. And let me tell you now — I’ll keep bringing you gifts like this every day.”
Yuqeen immediately protested:— “No! You won’t bring me anything else!”
Rayn, calm but slightly serious, replied:— “I will. If you don’t want them, you can throw them away. But I won’t take them back.”
Yuqeen looked at him quietly and asked in a soft voice:— “Why are you speaking so rudely to me?”
Hearing that, Rayn chuckled faintly, placed his hand gently on her head, and said:— “Because if I don’t act a little rude, you’ll never accept my gifts.”
Yuqeen asked again, softly but with emotion:— “Why are you doing all this?”
Rayn looked into her eyes with affection, smiled gently, and replied:— “I don’t even know why. All I know is… I’m doing everything for you.”
Hearing such heartfelt words, Yuqeen grew emotional. Her eyes shimmered with tears, yet a sweet smile bloomed on her lips.
Before Rayn could say anything more, Yuqeen leaned closer, rested her head on his chest, and wrapped her arms tightly around him.
She could hear his heartbeat — steady, calm, and strangely comforting. She could hear his heartbeat — steady, calm, and strangely comforting.
Rayn was startled for a moment, but seeing Yuqeen like this, he calmed down. With gentle hands, he embraced her back warmly.
And so it went on. Every day, Rayn brought something new for Yuqeen — sometimes a wristwatch, sometimes a hairclip, sometimes even a teddy bear.
In this way, two whole months passed. Time slipped by quietly, turning small moments into shared memories.
Sunday.
Rayn was quietly sitting on the sofa, watching the news. The light from the TV illuminated half of his face, leaving the other half in shadow. Meanwhile, Yuqeen was alone in the kitchen, preparing lunch.
With a slight smile, she whispered to herself:— “Really, Rayn is different. At this age, other boys watch anime or play games… but he… watches the news.”
A little while later, the two of them sat together at the dining table. Yuqeen carefully served the food in front of Rayn. Her posture and attention made it seem as if she were Rayn’s wife.
Just as Rayn was about to start eating, the phone rang. He picked up the phone and looked at it. Yuqeen, curious, asked softly:— “Who’s calling?”
Rayn replied calmly:— “Dad.”
The atmosphere at the table subtly shifted the moment he answered the call.
He answered the call and listened quietly to his father. After hanging up, Yuqeen immediately asked:— “Uncle, what did he say? Is there a problem?”
Rayn, in a calm and steady voice, said:— “Dad said I have to return to the house in town today.”
Yuqeen was surprised:— “Return to the house in town? Why suddenly?”
Rayn, serious and composed, said:— “I can’t explain now. Just know that I have to leave by tonight.”
A light emptiness settled in Yuqeen’s chest. She felt sad, but she didn’t let Rayn notice. Instead, she forced a small smile and said softly:— “But… when will you return?”
Rayn paused for a few seconds before replying:— “I’m not sure. But I hope it won’t be too long.”
A few moments of silence passed. Then, Yuqeen, her voice tinged with shyness and hesitation, said softly:— “Rayn… can I come with you?”
Rayn lowered his eyes, closed them briefly, and then slowly opened them. Looking at Yuqeen, he said calmly:— “I want to take you with me too. But this time, I have to go alone. I promise, one day, I will definitely take you with me.”
Her fingers tightened slightly against her lap as she waited for his answer, Yuqeen couldn’t say anything. She lowered her head and sat quietly.
Evening.
The sky gradually darkened from deep red into night. Rayn adjusted his clothes, slung his bag over his shoulder, and opened the apartment door.
Yuqeen stood silently at the doorway. Her eyes reflected a kind of invisible pain, her lips trembled, but no words came out.
Rayn looked at her once, smiled faintly, and said:— “I’ll come back. Don’t worry.”
Without looking back, he walked away slowly. Each step he took felt heavier than the last.
Yuqeen stood at the doorframe, silently watching him leave. Her chest ached with heavy sorrow, yet her face remained quiet — this was her silent protest, the unspoken way she felt that she didn’t like Rayn leaving like this.
Night time… Rayn come his home town.
Moonlight spilled through breaks in the clouds, silence filled the air, and the sky was scattered with glittering stars. In the midst of that stillness, Rayn’s Town house stood tall.
A high black wall surrounded the house. The place carried a cold, dignified silence — nothing like the warmth he had left behind.
At the front stood a black gate, carved with an old royal symbol. On either side of the gate, electric lamps glowed, casting a golden light that made the entrance look mysterious.
Rayn noticed the gate wasn’t locked. He understood — his father had already left it open, just for him.
He stepped inside slowly. A long stone pathway stretched ahead, lined on both sides with trimmed trees and gardens filled with imported flowers. Here and there, fountains trickled with water that shimmered under the moonlight.
The house was three stories tall — its pure white walls accented with blue and black frames.
The windows were fitted with thick glass, their curtains swaying gently in the breeze. The main door, though made of old wood, was secured with a modern electronic lock.
As Rayn reached the front, he saw the door wasn’t locked either. Smiling faintly, he whispered softly:— “Father worries about me too much.”
Inside, his eyes fell on the vast hall room. White marble flooring stretched beneath a crystal chandelier that cast a soft glow. Paintings and the family crest hung on the walls.
Late at night, Rayn returned to his Town house. To the right stood the library — rare books arranged neatly behind glass walls. To the left, a luxurious drawing room with leather sofas, a fireplace, and antique weapons mounted on the wall.
On one of the sofas sat Rayn’s father, waiting. Hearing the sound of the door, he rose to his feet, looked at Rayn, and with a gentle smile and calm voice said:— “Welcome back, Rayn.”
Rayn smiled faintly and replied in a quiet tone:— “Father, you didn’t need to wait up for me so late.”
His father slowly walked toward him, speaking softly:— “My son was coming home—how could I not wait? Anyway, no more talk now. Freshen up first, then join me at the table. I cooked dinner for you.”
After some time, Rayn finished his bath and came down to the dining table. His father personally began serving him food.
Rayn tasted it. The flavor was indeed good, but somehow his heart didn’t feel the same. Something familiar was missing, and he felt it with every bite. So, without giving any reaction, he quietly continued eating.
His father noticed that unlike before, today Rayn’s eyes carried no real spark of excitement. In a calm voice, he asked:— “Rayn, is the food not good?”
Rayn immediately understood why his father was asking that. In a soft tone, he replied:— “No, Father, it’s not like that.”
Lowering his head, he thought to himself:— “How could I tell him… I’ve already grown used to Yuqeen’s cooking.”
His father looked at him, saying nothing — just offering a gentle smile. After finishing the meal, Rayn went upstairs.
On the second floor was his private chamber. Inside, a personal study room — equipped with a computer, old maps, and on one side, a collection of swords and firearms.
Rayn’s bedroom was a blend of royal and modern — complete with a king-size bed, soft silk curtains, and a balcony from where the entire city could be seen.
Standing on the balcony, Rayn thought to himself:— “It wouldn’t be right to call Yuqeen now… Better to wait until morning, before she leaves for school.”
As the city lights stretched endlessly below, his thoughts drifted back to her.
