Storm/To Speak with the Past

As the not so sweet amber flowed out of the bottle, Shammus wept. This was not for the compatriots he had ruthlessly slaughtered to reach this point, but rather for the life he knew he’d fully abandoned to reach this stage.

“What good is the godlike power I wield if I cannot protect my own independence?” He mutters to himself.

The pendant was all that answered in reply, “Oh, Clara, this is but in Draconic! It talks as if it knows Common, but is just inable to speak it.”

“What?” The pendant had gone silent once more, Shammus had long since given up speaking in Common, but maybe, just maybe, other people entered the tower who didn’t want him dead, and didn’t seek out his Experience.

Maybe, just maybe, he would be freed from this endless desert, with small connections to his home world scattered about. After years stuck here, and endless battle, maybe he’ll have someone to talk to.

These others only need reach Floor-

The ship finally reached its destination, or maybe only neared it, as the weather worsened greatly. Pallad and Bariton were both left to help keep the ship from falling apart, with Clara using her spells to buff everyone on the ship.

Sornid and Judine left their studies to also help, although the help Judine could apply is minimal, compared to her friends. Judine didn’t let her doubts creep up upon her; however her leading skills were greatly appreciated by the Navy’s captain, who was busy helping with the tasks the crewmen were too weak to accomplish.

Everyone’s help allowed the ship to get closer to the island, but that was definitely all the crew was capable of reaching, over a mile from shore, the large ship would be destroyed. They set up a small boat for this case.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Bariton would’ve brought up the oddity of using such a small boat, had it not been capable for them to swim the whole way. In fact, the small boat was far more dangerous for these fools of Level 75.

To even reach Level 50 was a feat that made you far greater than an entire nation's military in a world without the system, and that included hightech capable of something most can only think possible with magic.

One upon reaching Level 60 would quickly learn that after level 50, it scales exponentially. One would be capable of surviving a device capable of flattening a city in an instant, vaporizing those close by.

At reaching Level 75, the mere feat of swimming a mile in the toughest of seas seems like wading water. A challenge to some, but the average Level 75 is capable of it without too much effort.

Of course, since Pallad poured all of his stats into Strength, he had to carry Sornid, who had avoided physical stats like the plague. Bariton made it first across the sea, unsurprising to everyone else. He had put most of the stats he had into Dexterity to avoid most combat encounters, and if he were to fail, he could draw in the attention as a bard and then dodge the actual attacks.

Clara herself simply cast a waterwalking spell on herself and Judine, avoiding the tides of the sea, and Sornid cast winds stronger than anything the sails would’ve handled if they were faced the wrong way.

Sornid sends the ship far far away from the island, well out of view. The Navymen don’t scream, but it’s clear Sornid refused to discuss this plan with most of them, and the captain didn’t have the time to explain the directives to turn the sails away.

The island itself was beautiful, a small oasis in the eye of the storm. There was thick jungle approaching the center, but it wasn’t anything too difficult to traverse, with an already well pact path.

It was rather odd, the lack of wildlife other than the plants, and even the plants refused to get anywhere close to the dirt road. Not even a root or two, common among hiking trails. But then the answer is revealed with the temple at the very center of the island, the dead silence sort of emanating from the shadow within.

An Evil energy, similar to a devil’s, found usually in A rank gates, within which only Level 75 or higher is recommended for a party clear, and level 80 is recommended for a Solo clear. These heroes knew what they were getting into, but they also knew they were capable, and were well balanced as all of them had their own strengths and weaknesses covered.
