Gilbert stared at the screen with an inhuman focus. He put everything he had into watching the other Gilbert on the screen. It was his only chance for survival. Right now, if nothing changed, Gilbert was going to die after mid-day tomorrow. He needed another supply of stability solution vials desperately and this Gilbert in front of him could make it happen.
Other Gilbert didn’t do much in the day other than run the water plant and stare blankly at the wall when nothing else was required. Regardless, Gilbert wrote everything down just in case it was useful to finding the vials. Only if it wasn’t Other Gilbert acting, would it not be written down.
At one point, a man Gilbert recognized as his original leader appeared on camera and dragged the body of a woman into the women’s restroom and into the out of order stall where they both headed down a secret stairway, but Gilbert didn’t write it down. He didn’t see how it could help find Gilbert’s secret stash of vials, so it went undocumented.

Part of Gilbert regretted running away at the insistence of Merrin. At the time, when she handed him so many vials, it felt like he could live forever and take his life into his own hands. After they were down to the final vials, Gilbert realized far too late that he was not meant to be free, surviving was the best he could possibly hope for.
Suddenly, Other Gilbert lifted a painting on the wall in his office to reveal a safe in the wall.
Gilbert sat up straight and watched with the hungry anticipation of a stalking predator. He wrote down the code to the safe after watching carefully.
Other Gilbert opened the safe and inside was the only thing that mattered. Several cases of vials there for the taking.
Gilbert watched in jealousy as Other Gilbert drank one and closed the safe, covering it up with the painting once again.
With a shaky hand, Gilbert picked up the phone and dialed Special Agent Holly. He needed to tell her everything he wrote down.
