A low sand wall formed a semicircle like a sandbag defensive position.
Sitting inside this defensive perimeter, Yu Zhiye reeled in another chest and put it away cheerfully. “Great, eight fish plus a chest! What a great harvest today!”
There was also the quick-save earlier in the morning. That earned him a hefty sum of cobble as well!
“Now, I should have enough to build that... should I head back now?”
Yu Zhiye glanced over his shoulder. Beyond the low wall, he immediately noticed the lady in red spying on him from the shade of the store.
When their eyes met, Miss Yoona flashed him that teasing smirk, then went back inside the store.
Even so, Yu Zhiye knew she’ll be back to haunt him like an evil spirit.
“Bleh. This fox spirit really has nothing better to do, huh?”
If his looks were better, Yu Zhiye might’ve fantasized that this sexy model had a thing for him, but sadly… he knew his own weight.
Even that timid loser collecting stones had a better chance than him!
“Meh. Whatever. Stare all you want. It’s not like I’ll lose anything.”

A little Miss Highschooler waved towards him excitedly while skipping down the dune and Uncle Jack wasn’t far behind.

“Sheesh, Steve, ya can’t get enough of fishing, can ya? Bwahaha!”
Looking at their happy faces, Yu Zhiye knew their harvest was definitely not bad. “Looks like your adventure went well.”

Jack dropped a chest and flipped open the lid. “Let’s split the loot!”
Yu Zhiye saw all the various new items from the desert temple loot temple and grinned. “So I get a share?”
“Of course! If it weren’t for the ax you gave us, we would’ve slept with the skelees tonight! Not to mention all the stuff we would’ve missed out on! Here, look!”
A chest cube appeared in Jack’s hand and he handed it over. “Your ax let us pick three of this baby up!”
Yu Zhiye accepted the fist-sized cube and immediately put it into his inventory bar. His eyes lit up when he read the tooltip.

A rare blue item—same as his fishing rod and ax! Just this alone already recovered all his investment!
What made him more excited was its function!
“This… is it the same as in the game?”
Jack grinned. “Ya betcha! 27 grids of storage! Triple the size of our inventory hotbar! I say this is one of the most valuable loots in the ruins this time! Just place it and you can use it!”
Wow! Yu Zhiye almost couldn’t help jumping for joy! It’s real! An actual spatial storage device that functions like a game inventory!
Being an angel investor… was completely worth it!
Of course, not everything was sunshine and daisies.
“Oh, fair warning though. Once placed, only the ax can break this baby and… Steve, I’m sure you know these chests don’t have locks.”

But he had no such worries!
Still, Yu Zhiye suppressed his overflowing excitement and thanked the man with a nod. “Don’t worry, Jack. I’ll find a place nobody will think of to hide it.”
“Yeah? If ya say so.” Jack chuckled then fished out a vibrant-green gem. “Oh right, there’s also this. We found three of these. Dunno what it can be used for right now, but one of each of us—just right!”
“Sweet.” Yu Zhiye accepted the emerald with a smile. Investment return +1!
Jack: “We also got a whole bunch of other stuff. Have some bread, or take a pick of whatever ya want, Steve!”
Here, Yu Zhiye finally politely refused. “No, no, do I look like the greedy type?”
“Bwahaha! Don’t be shy, Steve! You really deserve it! Without your lifeline, I wouldn’t even have today! Go on!”
Jack slapped him on the back to encourage him, but Yu Zhiye glanced at his full inventory bar and could only refuse.
“Hey, hey, next time, next time! This is already more than enough! You two bore most of the risks, and deserve more! If you must insist, then just take it as my further investment to the team.”
“Yeah? Bwahaha! If you say so!” Jack didn’t push it and put away the chest with a smile. “Aight, let’s head inside before it turns dark! I worked my bones today and should get some early rest.”
Yu Zhiye offered, “Need me to take over your shift?”
“No, no, sheesh. I’m not that old! Bwahaha!”
Blinking her clever little eyes, Xiao Shuling nommed on an apple and skipped after the two men walking back like comrades-in-arms.
Back in the store...
Xiao Shuling: “Eih! This miss is gonna find a spot to place her chest!”
Jack: “I’ll go bury mine somewhere. You, Steve?”
Yu Zhiye pointed at the men’s bathroom. “Same old. Gonna head to my secret stash.”
“Aight, then see yall later at dinner!”
The party split up and Yu Zhiye went back to his base.
First things first, Yu Zhiye quickly collected his wood from the generator and dropped those off in the shed. “That’s 16 wood! All the resources have been gathered! As for core energy...”
Add on the daily +2 to the fishing points he earned and he got a total of 11!
Entering base management mode, Yu Zhiye focused on the lone construction site in his pocket dimension.
