Vol.5- Chaper 1: A plant?

  "Oh... that."

  "Well?" I asked.

"To... simplify it, Limbo's ambiance is... it's like a tumor."

Wasn't her tone a little hesitant?

I asked- "How do you know about tumors? Never mind. Just what was THAT supposed to me?n?"

She sighed which was weird for a ghost to do, and then she continued-

"You see, spirits of dead people who never went to the underworld either because of deep grudges or curses can somehow resist Limbo and remain in the overworld... for a while."

I stayed silent prompting her to continue-

"But Limbo will forcefully pull them down but... if even this forceful pull doesn't work, Limbo.... will come to you."

  I stumbled!!

I took a deep breath then I composed myself and resumed walking.

  "So...?"

She took a few moments to reply-

"Look. Limbo is an abstract world." Whatever this shit means. She continued- "And for it to exist in the overworld... that'll play malignant tricks on the world itself... a patch of it at least."

I almost gasped at that if it wasn't for me suddenly seeing a gorgeous woman naked sitting near a small lake.

I thought for a few seconds then I said- "Definitely a monster of some kind." And so I began to walk around the extra obvious trap.

She said- "Oh you have no idea."

  What a cheerful tone!

I asked- "what do you mean?"

She replied with the same cheerful tone- "that's a male... and it's actually a plant."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

  I stumbled this time.

'Huh! Male! Plant! The hell is wrong with this world? One wrong thing isn't enough for you??!'

I sighed and asked- "Let's go back to talking about death and ghosts pl?ase, the tumor in the spacetime fabric sounds like fun."

She chuckled which was surprising that she understands humor... not that I was joking.

"Well, let's continue then. You see, in such places it's easy for things like play on time or play on space to happen, not to mention turning a living thing into a ghost... forever."

I shivered- "Yeah... I kinda know how it feels."

She stayed silent for a few seconds then

she muttered- "I'm very sure you don't know how it feels."

I didn't bother replying to her.

A few minutes went by in silence despite the pile of questions I had in mind to be honest I have questions about everything, but something tells me that even she probably has no answer or vague answers, because that's mostly the answers she'd been giving.

I can't blame her this world is a mess and I have no idea what everything is, it's as if the world is just big junk of patchwork and scrap.

After about a kilometer of walking something weird was happening, as I walked I could smell the faint scent of rotten flesh.

It didn't even bother me but it was weird to say the least.

The trees seemed to be less green as I went further with less leaves, and the smell of flesh seems just a little bit stronger.

'Avatha probably do?sn't have a... good answer to this. I can probably deal with it alone.'

I went even further without a detour and as I was walking the atmosphere grew more annoying if not disturbing.

The trees seem more dense but also less green, the smell of flesh grew just a little bit stronger.

After a while more I suddenly saw a tree with markings on a tree bark, deep... and bleeding.

I got closer to the trunk with worry in my eyes this was the red flag that I needed to immediately get out or walk around this shit.

But for some reason Avatha was quiet, I

  spoke-

"What is this? And how can I go around it?"

After a second she replied- "that's a theater, and by a theater I mean something like a limbo ambiance, but entirely different.

Worst? You can't get out, you saw the mark, you're trapped."

I scowled, this was definitely not a good thing not in the slightest.

The scribbles didn't seem to mean anything either so that's another problem.

  - "Can I fly off?" I asked and she replied calmly- "You don't fly off; you'll just fall back down."

  I sighed...

I took a deep breath a very deep breath then I exhaled with my mouth closed, forcefully.

As my airo wings appeared I crouched and then I jumped up...

I flew off the ground slowly picking speed, the air roared in my ears until I could see the forest from above.

  - "What is that?"

In the distance I could see the trees seem to become more organized, and there is a wide clearing with !!

I saw it, mannequins put on spikes and each mannequin was drenched in blood.

There was a movement, a shady figure wearing an animal fur on its body, and its head obscured by a skull, not a human skull but similar to it.

As I stared, the figure stopped for a few seconds then suddenly turned its head straight towards me, the eyesockets stared right towards me...

The figure didn't move... but, a second later I felt nausea and then my vision blurred.

  .

  .

  .

  I opened my eyes slowly...

'I was in the sky a second ago... when did I get in a tree?'

My thoughts seemed slower than usual and my head feels so damn heavy.

Avatha spoke with a quiet worry - "Now he knows where you are, damn it. Why didn't you listen?"

'Oh... so that's how it is.'
