041 CONSPIRACY ABOUT SANO AISAKI

Though it looked like the truth. To me this whole thing did not feel like the truth.

The dad I had was a mentor not a murderer.

He taught me everything he could teach me. Nurtured me. Gave me education and lessons. Brought me to places while my mother was running away from me. He was there for me when I needed it. Stayed by my side.

That is my dad Sano Aisaki. I know him by my experience not the version they are trying to paint me. My father isn’t someone inhuman with no remorse for a human life.

The person they are describing isn’t him.

“You’re mistaken.” I now turned to say to Reigen.

We both stood and stared at each other. Piercing stares like knives.

“I am sorry to tell you this but it is true.” Reigen replied. “The victims were Mrs. Ichigo and her unborn child.” He informed me.

I recalled reading that article that Yuji…Yukari Winters sent me.

Killing a mother and unborn child? That’s against everything my dad stands for.

“That is not true.” I did not believe this.

“Sadly. It is!” Reigen confirmed solemnly.

“And you want me to do what?” I asked. Almost laughing. “To lead you to my dad for you to get revenge on? To someone who is the only person that was truly there for all my life? He isn’t the person you say he is!” I said a painful irony clear in my voice.

“That man is pure evil.” Reigen spoke bluntly.

I shifted my gaze. “Say it again!”

Reigen was pressing the buttons sharply. His words cut into me like knives. I had to pull myself together to not explode on him.

The anger in me towards this guy intensified every moment I was in here. My intuition told me to leave here. And curiosity wanted to bite back.

“We can exchange the glares forever but it won’t change a thing.” Reigen said as if he was exhausted by this. Letting out a tired breath. He picked his hand up and brushed it through his hair. Then he looked at me again.

“Rory Aisaka…I have no obligation to explain anything to you. Looks like you have convinced Yukari and my brother that you are just a simple ‘student’. And know nothing.” Reigen sarcastically quoted the word student.

“Even if you yourself think you are one you’re just lying to yourself. In no way your study level is what you show off.” Reigen said to me.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Think whatever suits you…Reigen!” I replied wanting to roll my eyes.

I understood what he meant but he was way off. Projecting whatever was convenient from him on me.

“I see you as a mere guard dog.” I said wanting to dig at him.

Reigen laughed out loud at my insult.

“Every word and action you do screams you know what is going on.” Reigen replied.

So…He is actually a guard dog? Who is he guarding?

My nose moved as if I just smelled something foul.

  “Whatever..”

I wanted to move on and leave. This guy is insufferable to be around.

“I read the article Yukari sent to me…about that tragedy of Ichigo’s family.” I said.

“You did?” Reigen perked up hearing me address this.

  I nodded.

“It said it was a tragedy. Never mentioning that anyone was responsible for it.” I said.

“It’s bad publicity if we announce that someone actually killed them. The story rolled out like that.” Reigen rolled his eyes at this version.

“Are you saying that the article was written as an accident on purpose?” I was baffled.

“Of course! We cannot deal with any type of conspiracies around here.” Reigen replied. “News are tweaked to reform the world how it must be. Not how it is.” He said to me as it was obvious. “The rules in Akasia are as standard to that.”

I blinked. Processing what Reigen was saying to me.

  “You…this is…” I couldn't find the right words.

Reigen only smiled at my reaction.

"Doesn't it make more sense to get the truth out there when it happens to close the guilty part by suppressing them socially? To outcaste and putting it in the position where they cannot deny it? If you say it’s an accident and now after years trying still to catch them…” I was getting a headache over this obvious stupidity.

“I told you that is not an option here.” Reigen did not explain it to me. Continued to speak. “It was Sano who did this. He simply outplayed us all and is still many many steps ahead.” Reigen said. “The reason we approached you this way was because he never leaves any trace of proof. Leaving the game layout at the fault. Every other player. Which all of us is just a pawn in the bigger scheme of things.” Reigen ranted out things I did not understand.

“And you think I am involved in whatever this is?” I asked curiously.

“Anyone who is involved with him is involved.” Reigen said this as certainty.

I know Sano is a very talented individual. I saw him in action firsthand and he was my mentor from a young age. I have always idolized him. That’s why I wanted to be like him. But the way Reigen was describing him. As if he was someone so great. In my eyes it made Sano more dazzling and impressive.

I took a long breath. Taking my head in my arms and looking up. The white ceiling stared back at me. Sano is amazing… Making people fear him to this level of troubling me like this. I saw the glimpse of the power he had. He was not present here for at least twenty years but his presence was still strong. So strong in people’s eyes. In his hometown Akasia!

I took my hands and slapped both of my cheeks. The slap left a fresh and hot sensation. Stinging my cheeks.

This motion steadied my emotions over this. My cheeks are rosy and red. I looked back down at Reigen smiling.

“I don’t believe he killed anyone. But I am interested in whatever secrets you want from him!” I smiled widely. A colour in my eyes sparked for the first time since I arrived here in Akasia.

Reigen watched my changing reaction intrigued.

“You…are more complicated than we thought.” He said seemingly amazed. “You look like you’re insane.” Reigen insulted me.

Nothing could bring my mood down now.

“Can you tell me what Sano was like when he lived here?” I asked. Curiosity. I wanted to know. Know every bit of him. “What kind of family did he grow up in? What did he achieve here?” I kept asking questions. “Is his family still living here?” I asked. “Can I meet them?”

“Oh...wow.” Reigen looked over at me realizing something.

“You truly may know nothing…” He said taken back.
