VOL 2 | CHAPTER 89: | THE DESTRUCTION OF ATLANTIS | 10

  CHAPTER 89: | THE DESTRUCTION OF ATLANTIS | 10

  ---

A water dragon soared through the sky, or perhaps through the current below the sky ocean.

Well I preferred to call it the sky, or the 'sky ocean' if I may be presumptuous.

Since calling it simply 'above the ocean' felt too awkward.

Now, let's focus on the more urgent matter, how should I deal with such an unkillable entity?

Closing my eyes, I activated 'Void Step' once, then twice, then thrice, turning into a blur.

I raised my hand, which transformed into a claw, and smirked as I rushed forward.

Then in the next moment, I slashed my claw at his shoulder, slicing through his waist as I appeared behind him, muttering coldly.

“Modified Tripod Barrage: Tripod Devil Claw.”

The sound of flesh tearing apart, along with bone cleaving in a clean manner, echoed throughout the entire space as blood and gore exploded from his body, his insides spilling into the water.

But I only smirked at him.

This draconian was no ordinary being, he was a half-elemental that relied on mana rather than his physical body to live.

As long as they had any mana remaining in their core or contractor, they would be able to regenerate their body endlessly.

"Just like this lizard who has already recovered from those grievous wounds in a split second."

It was impressive to think that I would have such a great punching bag to test all of my new theories.

So, pardon me for being rude.

My skin rose grotesquely, connected by flesh-like tentacles that attacked his body.

But the draconian just stood there, taking my attacks without an ounce of fear.

He could simply recover his body using the water all around us, since we were a few hundred thousand meters deep in the ocean, after all.

He gazed at me with a bored expression as he manipulated the water, turning it into swords, chains, or a palace that switched into a hundred-thousand-ton seal, sending me spiraling to the ground.

"You bore me, mortal... but in honor of you being as tenacious as a sea roach, I shall grant you the right to know of this god's name... The name is Varuna, with the meaning of 'water,' given to me by my birth father. So appreciate it."

I gazed at him, then closed my eyes.

I smirked, then chuckled, as I couldn't help but find this guy quite funny.

‘Do I want to kill him for being funny? Yes, I want to kill him this instant. But how do I kill him when he’s basically an immortal? Should I drain the water? Maybe not, since it would take billions of years just to do that. Then maybe I should rip him to shreds until he's broken, or just directly devour him with my authority? Nah, that would be boring...’

I pondered for a solution that would interest me.

As i pondered, I took a step and vanished from sight, beginning to imagine all of the dragons I'd encountered, their essence, their movements.

I thought of creating a series of attacks based on those movements.

Clenching my hand as if holding a heavenly pearl that a True Dragon usually carries, I took a stance like a wyrm.

I then charged forward, vanishing in a single step then reappearing in the next second with my claw piercing through his ribs and into his back.

As I held his heart, smiling coldly, I muttered.

"Distorted Emperor Mimicry: True Dragon Style Heart Snatcher."

As I clenched my fist, Varuna gazed at me and placed his palm on my head.

He menacingly muttered as his blue eyes turned into a deep sapphire, as it gleamed coldly.

"Abyssal Palm Technique: Abyssal God Palm."

But before he could release the energy he channeled in his palm, I was already sending a sweeping kick.

I then activated 'Void Step' then reappeared behind him, my feet sweeping through the water like a dragon sweeping its tail.

"Distorted Emperor Mimicry: True Dragon Style Swipe."

The water all around us trembled violently.

Varuna, noticing the human about to unleash something devastating, controlled all the water around him to form into an enclosed dome as he muttered coldly.

  "Water Palace."

I gazed at the palace caging me in place, then smirked.

As I focused all of my strength into the tip of my toe, then unleashed hell on the wall blocking me as I muttered.

"Distorted Emperor Mimicry: True Dragon Style Point Strike."

The palace trembled as its walls caved in from my powerful attack.

In the next second, cracks spiderwebbed on the palace as Varuna gazed at his spell breaking with a stiff face.

He tried to repair it, but it was too late as it broke into thousands of pieces.

  Crash!

I then smirked as I took a step and vanished from the spot.

Varuna tried to locate me through his affinity with water, but couldn't find me.

Then he opened his eyes as he saw a foot smashing into his face.

He muttered, eyes wide with disbelief.

  "Impossible..."

His face contorted from the impact of the flying kick, and in the next second, his neck snapped as his flesh was ripped apart grotesquely before his head flew across the sky ocean.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

  Squelch!

  But I wasn't finished yet.

I struck his chest with a focused point, 'Bull Gang' that wouldn't pierce through him but would destroy his body from the sheer impact.

I smirked, as I placed my palm on his abdomen before muttering coldly.

'Modified Bull Gang: Decimating Gang of the Bull Demon.'

My palm flared a golden orange.

As I unleashed the modified technique on him, his body broke down in the next seconds, his flesh, bones, and insides spilling across the ocean sky.

As it covered my vision with blood and viscera in the next second, but it was useless.

I saw him, no, his head, forming a body through my field of perception as he smirked.

"To think that a mere human could unleash such a powerful attack... Impressive, but before the might of a god, it is futile."

Then he cast a spell that he had been preparing since the beginning of the battle, as he smirked with the face of a victor.

"Now, take this, human. Ascension V Spell: True Water Dragon!"

?A monstrous silhouette of churning water and power loomed behind him as the sea dragon appeared, more imposing than ever before.

Its elk-like horns, now twisted like gnarled coral, were both majestic and demonic at the same time.

?A deep sapphire in color, its eyes gleamed with a power so undeniable it seemed to fill the air.

The narrow slits of its pupils was fixed on the human with a look of pure, regal dominance.

Clenching a heavenly pearl in its claw, the dragon let out a thunderous roar that sent tremors through the deep.

  "HOWWLLL!!!"

As I watched the dragon tear through the currents, a cold smile formed on my lips.

Then I clenched my fist, and the water around it violently evaporated as my fist ignited into a molten golden color.

  ?

?I smashed my fist into the currents, and the resulting shockwave sent bubbles surging up around us.

They billowed into a thick smokescreen, blinding the dragon for a critical second.

In that moment, I extended my index finger toward the dragon, which was now tens of meters away.

?As I channeled a hundred units of my mana to the tip of my finger, an ember sparked into existence, as it quickly coagulated into a pitch-black molten ball.

  I smiled, then muttered coldly.

  "Torrent of Extinction."

Ejecting from my index finger, it vanished in an instant, like a torrent of destruction, a hurricane in a field of wheat.

It easily phased through the defenses of the 'True Water Dragon,' without any resistance then settled at its center within seconds."

?I glanced at the dragon and a smirk spread across my face.

The strings of Varuna's intent, the very essence that commanded the 'True Water Dragon,' were now within my grasp.

  "This is too easy."

Then I flicked my hands as the 'Torrent of Extinction' inside the 'True Water Dragon' body exploded.

I guided its energy to infiltrate the intents that allowed varuna to control it, corrupting and pushing his commands away from it for myself as I smirked.

"Now, what will you do, Varuna? Show me how powerful you are!"

Varuna, hearing the human's provocation, ignored him.

He was too focused on regaining his control over his 'True Water Dragon' that the weird human had hijacked.

He bit his lips, then waved his hands at the human as he commanded the water all around him to coagulate into swords.

  He shouted.

  "Heavens' Sword Rain!"

He was hoping that this set of flying swords he'd created in his earliest days while serving the Dragon Emperor was enough to distract the human.

But to his dismay, the human vanished in a single step, nowhere to be found, as he reappeared right below him in a kicking motion.

  "Dammit!"

Varuna's eyes winced with pain as his eyeballs exploded from the human's foot striking his chin.

That single kick shattered his concentration.

With a sickening lurch, more than half of his intent was ripped from the 'True Water Dragon,' an irrevocable blow that made expelling the corruption all but impossible.

He trembled, ashamed of having his greatest spell, the 'True Water Dragon,' being hijacked by a mere human.

He smirked then activated another spell he created in the past, when he was a hundred years old, and a spell that he polished until he was a thousand years old in the Level-less Era, also known as the Era of the Gods.

  He muttered calmly.

"True Sovereign of the Abyss: Water God Form."

Varuna's eyes took a shade of deep sapphire as his entire form turned into pure water, revealing a sapphire gem floating at his center.

The water all around him converged into his core, transforming in a terrific way as his presence surged rapidly at an insane rate.

Then, in the next second, a blue cocoon could be seen at where he was a few seconds earlier, lounging in the currents nonchalantly.

I gazed at his transformation as I continued to infiltrate the 'True Water Dragon' body.

He, too, was fighting me for control.

Even now, in such a delicate state of transformation, he was still fighting for his pride, for his ego that none can steal his spell.

  But I disagreed with him.

My ego was as big as it could get.

I could fight him in his transformed form in melee, without relying on anything, as long as it satisfied my ego.

  So I cackled.

"Transform all you want. Burn your essence to elevate your existence. Only then would you become something worthy of my time."

Closing my eyes, I began to feel the elemental of the waters.

I looked for Sylphid, the summon of Keshlock, and smirked, then waved my hand as I found her, a small fairy, then I activated 'Sylphid Summoning.'

Using the skill I’d devoured from Keshlock, I used the 'True Water Dragon' as a medium to summon an elemental, thanks to my 'Torrent of Extinction' infiltrating it.

I then chuckled, looking at the notification before me.

  ---

[Would you like to bind the spirit of the water: Sylphid?]

  [Yes] / [No]

  ---

I chuckled, since it was quite a shame that I couldn't summon the spirit of the earth that suit my affinity.

But nonetheless, it was still okay, since I could just transmute this elemental to earth in the future.

I glanced at the magic circle in front of me as a realization hit me.

  I smirked.

"Why wait for the future when I can summon it right now?"

Waving my hand, I then activated 'Sacred Earth Affinity' as I stroked my index finger in the magic circle, then redrew it.

Then I searched for an earth elemental as I then used my authority, 'The Will of the Distorted,' and shouted.

"Heed my call, the element of earth, and serve me!"

Just as I expected, an earth elemental appeared before me.

Then my success was confirmed by a notification that flashed into existence.

  ---

[You have successfully modified a water elemental summoning circle.]

  [You have gained a title.]

  ? [Master of Summoning.]

  ---

[Would you like to bind the element of the earth: Tellus?]

  [Yes] / [No]

  ---

I cackled at the familiar name as I couldn't help but understand why that earth god, or mortal, could transform his body into earth.

So he truly had undergone the transformation of becoming a half-elemental, and after his death, he would become an elemental without any of his memories.

  "How ironic..."

'Truly. And do I even have an option but to accept you, Tellus? Oh, Tellus, the one who gave me this heaven-sent blessing...'

Then allow me to repay you and make this remnant of yours into a true god of the earth that far surpasses the primordial god of earth, Gaia.

Closing my eyes, I then accepted the contract as a chain of causality bound our souls.

With Tellus becoming a part of me, my own personal elemental, I gazed at another notification.

  ---

[You have successfully bound yourself to Tellus, the Lesser Earth Elemental.]

[You have now reached the maximum number of elemental contracts.]

[Further bindings are impossible unless your existing contract is nullified.]

[You may now command the earth at will.]

  ---

"I see, so I could only contract a single elemental? Quite the shock, since I've only just figured it out now."

I was quite shocked about this, since from what I've read in the old books, it's that no person could have a limit on summons.

It was this passage of the book, 'no being should ever experience the loss of only binding to a single elemental as the supreme heavenly dao is merciless to all.'

"But to hell with this generous, merciless advertisement! You fucking Heavenly Dao, how dare you limit my elementals to only one?! Fuck!"

'I couldn't help but lose my composure. How could I not? An elemental could increase my combat power by a lot. What if I had a hundred? A thousand? And hell, it didn't even give me the time to fantasize before I summoned another.'

'Hah, forget it. It's really not my style to be surrounded by wasps following my command. Let's just be satisfied with this one elemental named Tellus.'

Waving my hand, I activated 'Sylphid Summoning' to anchor Tellus in the body of the 'True Water Dragon' and transform it into a 'True Sacred Earth Dragon.'

A magic circle pulsed into existence as per my command, as it spread to encompass the 'True Water Dragon' and bathing it in an incandescent glow.

In that moment, Tellus became stabilized within the dragon's body.

  I then waved my hand.

As thousands of meters below, the ground trembled frantically, and jagged mountain peaks erupted from the ocean floor.

Like a great worm, the earth rose to meet the dragon, not to attack but to fuse with its body.

With a colossal roar, the 'True Water Dragon' became an Earthen Dragon.

  HOWWLLL!

The surroundings quaked violently as the ground below began to shift, raising jagged mountain peaks from the trembling earth.

Tellus announced his presence to the world, not as the god of the earth, but the lesser elemental having been called by his master.

As he gazed at the form of his master, that was as tiny as his eyeball, he swayed his majestic whiskers elegantly.

Then his mouth opened as all of the survivors, soldiers, nobles, gods, and the Emperor gazed at the dragon above the imperial capital.

?"I, Tellus, the servant who embodies the sacred earth, shall serve you for all eternity."

Maybe give it a try? ??
