CHAPTER 68: | THE DESCENSION OF THE EVIL GOD
---
? Abyssal Depth — ??? — ??? ?
The abyssal depth, a void known to only a select few, felt a sudden, crushing pressure.
It was an invisible weight that pressed down on their very souls.
The eyes that littered the sky began to grow violently, pulsing with a deep crimson light.
Cracks spread across the heavens, splintering the celestial dome like fragile glass.
A low, grinding groan filled the air before the sky exploded.
The eyes throbbed crazily, and glassy shards, each one humming with malevolent energy, began to fall like a lethal rain.
Then a monstrous presence descended.
The air grew thick and metallic, smelling of fresh blood.
The servants of the evil god, Xu Tie, exploded into a shower of flesh, their bodies collapsing in a repulsive mist.
The gory mass then gathered, hovering in the abyssal depth where the ancients lay asleep.
The flesh writhed and twisted, joining together into a sphere.
The emperors watched, their faces grim and unmoving.
The sphere turned into a cocoon, throbbing gently, then violently, as a muscular hand, as white as bone, protruded from it.
The followers of Xu Tie, whose bodies had been destroyed, turned their souls into abominations called zergots that began to heavily plague the world.
Holy Knights serving their emperors appeared and subjugated those abominations.
Adventurers all across the globe hunted these beings, as nobles, kingdoms, and empires spared no effort to get rid of them.
The emperors, meanwhile, fought the evil god deep in the abyssal depths of the abyss.
The world trembled from their fight as the ocean levels began to decrease significantly.
The sun god, Surya, now resembling an Asura with his burning rage, summoned thousands of gigantic white suns across the sky before throwing them at the evil god, Xu Tie.
The suns exploded, devouring hundreds of thousands of miles of the ocean in their wake and leaving only an empty, searing vacuum.
Surya's power didn't stop.
He pointed his hand at Xu Tie and muttered coldly.
"Thousands Vermilion Wrath."
The residue of his attacks gathered inside Xu Tie's body with ease.
Surya flicked his hand, and the built-up yang energy on Xu Tie's body exploded violently, ripping through his flesh in blinding flashes of light.
Meanwhile, the emperors in the back, who were preparing for something big, clenched their hands with dread as Xu Tie's tentacles lashed toward them, moving with an impossible speed.
"Sword immortal Xie Chian, protect us!"
But instead of the sword immortal Xie Chian, who was preparing a sword formation, the divine emperor Sylvia stepped forward.
Bzzzzz.
Time stopped for everyone except for Elara and the divine emperor.
Elara herself lounged on her bed, floating in the sky, while the divine emperor glanced at her nonchalant attitude.
He closed his eyes, then gathered his divine energies in his palm.
It shifted, then transformed into a sword of pure, luminous energy.
He swung it at the tentacles, a crisp, slicing sound echoing in the temporal stasis, and then slowly deliberately took his teps.
Elara flicked her hand, and time resumed.
Bzzzzzzzzzt...
The afterimages of the divine emperor, projecting his sword and walking into the air as he cut through the tentacles, appeared.
Xie Chian only smirked as she brandished her own emperor-grade sword and muttered.
"Heavens Net."
Her sword split into billions of swords, which hovered in the sky like needles.
Elara snapped her finger, and time distorted to a halt again.
Xie Chian smiled, her eyes filled with deadly focus, and pointed her index finger toward the evil god, Xu Tie, unleashing the true power of the sword formation.
The sky darkened, then turned white.
The billions of swords hovering in the sky turned into a streak of white light, barraging the handsome figure.
Xu Tie's black eyes followed her swords even with time pausing his body.

Elara, displeased, snapped her finger, then formed a hand seal with time engraved on it.
The hand print was engraved on Xu Tie's back, and time resumed.
Bzzzzzt...
Xu Tie's back exploded, then turned to dust from the constraints of time.
The sword formation that the sword immortal Xie Chian unleashed was blocked in an instant by Xu Tie's tentacles.
But Xie Chian only chuckled.
"..."
Then, silence ensued as a colossal entity soared across the sky.
His wyrm-like form, with halos hovering across his back like a massive magic circle, flared violently.
Lierium, now in his dragon form, gazed at the evil god with contempt and muttered coldly.
"WORLD ENDING FLAMES OF THE DRAGON GOD."
The world turned into a searing white for a moment as flames that could end the world devoured Xu Tie's visage.
Akarim, floating in the sky, slowly descended with small, deliberate steps.
The world-ending flames of Lierium were confined to a space along with Xu Tie from a single snap of Akarim.
The world itself trembled from his very pressure, but then the sound of glass shattering echoed as Xu Tie finally spoke for the first time.
"Emperors of this world, I, Xu Tie, have come to this small world to acquire believers. Follow me, the God of Omniscience, and I shall grant you eternal glory."
But Omniscience himself, hearing Xu Tie proclaiming himself as the God of Omniscience, smiled with restraint as he transformed into an abomination of all the aquatic life in this world.
Xu Tie, shocked, murmured.
"Child, follow me, and you shall obtain omniscience."
But OOmniscient feeling the irony of his words, chuckled.
He was named Omiscience because he was Omniscient, not a being who would follow someone just to become Omniscient, for he was already Omniscient.
The world distorted as an avatar appeared, as massive as a million miles.
The beings and invaders from the Mara world shuddered at the sight as Omniscience fused with it.
His form evolved as he became a mass of floating eyeballs.
He then painted the world with magic circles that fused into a singular one and muttered.
"Limitless Omniscience."
A golden eyeball, crying with blood, painted the sky as it fused with Omniscience.
He then unleashed a ray of energy on Xu Tie, whose face was a mix of surprise and disbelief.
But before it could hit Xu Tie, Akarim appeared inches above his head.
Then he kicked him down to the bottom of the abyssal depth.
The two ancients, the primordial Cthulhu and the sinful demon of the depth whose appearance couldn't be seen, wrapped their tentacles around Xu Tie and restrained him.
As the ray of light that Omniscience had unleashed struck Xu Tie, Akarim smirked and muttered with pride.
"PRIDE OF THE PRIMORDIAL EVIL'S DESCENSION."
A massive avatar that spanned millions of miles appeared on the world.
All the beings shuddered in fear, and some fainted to death from a glance at Akarim's glorious avatar.
"..."
A deathly silence erupted in the world as all bowed their heads to worship Akarim's avatar.
The world turned white for a split second as the avatar of Akarim pointed its finger at Xu Tie.
Extreme purity gathered at the tip of his avatar's finger as Akarim himself muttered coldly.
"Perish."
Then a small, compressed energy, like a black hole, touched Xu Tie's skin.
The sound of its explosion, like that of a Tsar bomb, echoed all across the world.
The body of the evil god, a hundred times stronger than the Cereum emperor's exoskeleton, exploded upon contact.
It devoured the evil god into a sphere with contempt.
Before it could reform its existence, the divine emperor closed his eyes.
He absorbed the pure divinity that the other emperors had been preparing earlier as he unleashed his own avatar.
The world was bathed in light as a saint of purity appeared all across the world.
It bowed to the divine emperor, then its body disintegrated and reformed into a sword in the divine emperor's palm.
He smiled, then muttered softly.
"DIVINITY OF PURITY."
All the citizens of the Mara world heard his voice.
Akarim nodded his head and vanished from the spot, as did all the other emperors.
They knew the battle was over when sixteen emperors shared their divinity and mana with the divine emperor to manifest his strongest skill, an [Ascension X] [Tier 10] [10★] Spell that reached the very zenith of what a mortal could possess.
The evil god, Xu Tie, gazed at the divine emperor hovering in the sky, taking his stance with finality.
He closed his eyes, then smiled as he muttered before his existence was ripped apart.
"How wonderful for a mere mortal to defeat me... but know that this isn't over yet, child..."
Then his vision split into billions of pieces as the divine emperor casually swung down his sword made of primordial light.
The world shook and was pushed thousands of miles away from the sun it was orbiting.
The divine emperor's final strike nearly cut through the core of the world, and he collapsed from the overload.
The divine emperor was falling at an impressive speed, descending from space into the sea, but he only smiled as he muttered.
"Finally, the world has regained its peace..."
But before he was about to crash into the cold water, the sword immortal Xie Chian smiled softly.
She caught the divine emperor at the last moment before softly saying.
"Thank you for your hard work."
The divine emperor smiled at her words as he closed his eyes and said.
"No... we all worked hard for this to happen."
The sword immortal Xie Chian giggled at his words.
She knew that without the divine emperor making a great sacrifice along with the others, the destruction of their world would have been inevitable.
Her billions of emperor-grade swords were now on the brink of destruction after she unleashed a single sword formation, so she shook her head.
"No... truly, thank you for your efforts, as always, Sylvia."
The divine emperor smiled.
It had been a long time since someone called him Sylvia, except for his wife, Claudia.
He chuckled.
"Hahaha, no need to flatter me, sister Xian. You're making me blush."
The sword immortal Xie Chian let out a soft laugh as she gazed at the divine emperor with a smile, then exclaimed.
"Perhaps I would have married you back then if I'd known you were this cute, Sylvia~"
But Sylvia shook his head, with a wry smile on his face.
"I didn't know that I was that popular."
The sword immortal Xie Chian giggled,
"Are you being sarcastic right now, Sylvia?!"
Sylvia nodded, and Xie Chian shouted.
"Hahaha! Then I will tell your wife that you're quite a cute, sarcastic bastard!"
Lierium appeared behind Xie Chian.
He patted her shoulder, and she glared at him with pure venom, muttering with disgust.
"Touch me one more time, you fucking lizard, and I would skewer you."
Lierium only chuckled at her words.
He gazed at her with affection, as a deep sadness was visible in his eyes, then muttered in her ears.
"But didn't we vow back in the academy that we would be husband and wife in the future, my dear wife?"
The sword immortal Xie Chian snorted.
She gazed at Lierium with the intent to kill as she shouted.
"Stop spouting nonsense, you dirty scumbag!"
Lierium sighed as he spoke.
"But didn't I tell you that I would only mate with that girl until she bore my progeny so that our clan would secure my inheritor? Tell me, Xie Chian, what did I do wrong? Did I mistreat you? Did I abandon you? Tell me, what am I lacking?!"
Xie Chian, seemingly flustered, shouted with rage.
"You damned bastard! You promised that you would only marry me, that I would only be your woman, but what did you do? You fucked a fucking lizard, and that's not the worst partof it, you even impregnated that bitch! So please, have some self-respect and leave me alone!"
Lierium grinded his teeth as he clenched his hand.
But he sighed, turned his back, and muttered before leaving.
"Then let's see this through to the end."
As he vanished, the divine emperor, hearing their conversation, smiled bitterly.
He looked from the furious Xie Chian to the empty space where Lierium had just been.
It pained him to see his best friends, who were once inseparable couple, were now in such a broken, love-and-hate relationship.
He sighed as he muttered.
"Xie Chian, why torment yourselves when you know that he loves and prioritizes you? So why hurt yourselves?"
Xie Chian's expression was gloomy, and tears glistened in her eyes, though she held herself back from crying.
As she carried Sylvia to his castle before turning her back on the broken conversation.
Maybe give it a try? ??
