C24 - Wang Tians lie

A heavy silence fell over the Wang Family Hall. Every eye was fixed on the strong, healthy form of Wang Jian. Surprise and confusion mixed in the air as all tried to comprehend the sight before them.

Wang Chun was the first to break the silence. His voice warm and gentle, he asked, “Xiao Jian, why are you here instead of resting? You must take care of yourself and not wander so much. Do you need anything?”

Though Wang Chun did not question Wang Jian’s presence, his concern was sincere and deep. Except for Wang Tian and Feng Mei, who already knew of Wang Jian’s recovery, all others showed genuine care and worry.

This kindness made Wang Jian happy. Even Jian Feng, resting quietly inside the bracelet, felt the warmth and sincerity from the family. It filled him with respect and hope.

Wang Jian bowed respectfully and said, “I greet all the elders and my brothers and sisters.” Then he added reassuringly, “Second Elder, thank you for your concern. I have fully recovered and will not fall ill again.”

His confident words shocked many, sending waves of disbelief through the hall. The Fourth Elder, Wang Ning, stepped forward with a serious look. “Xiao Jian, if what you say is true, this is welcome news. But how did you recover from your illness?”

All the elders shared that question. Wang Jian looked toward Wang Tian and calmly said, “My brother found the cure and the medicine to heal me.”

All eyes turned toward Wang Tian, who sat composed and commanding like an emperor. Sensing their doubt, Wang Tian explained, “The nature of the illness and its cure were explained by the Jin Dan. As for the medicine, I found pills inside a storage ring during a recent journey.”

Though some doubted his words, no one challenged him openly. They understood that if Wang Tian withheld some truth, there must be a reason.

Sensing their thoughts, Wang Tian shifted the topic. “Second Elder, please send a message to the First Elder at once. Tell him to return immediately.”

“As you command, Patriarch,” Wang Chun said solemnly, then went calmly to take his seat.

Wang Tian looked toward Feng Mei and the others, beckoning them forward. They approached and stood respectfully before him.

Wang Tian regarded them with satisfaction and asked formal questions about their training, easing the tension in the hall.

As Wang Tian spoke, Jian Feng quietly reached out to Wang Jian through voice transmission. “Jian’er, is that truly your brother?”

Wang Jian was caught off guard by the question but answered honestly, “Yes, Master. That is my elder brother. We share the same mother and father. Master, is something wrong?”

Jian Feng was silent for a moment, then said mysteriously, “Child, your brother is not as simple as you believe.”

Wang Jian looked toward Wang Tian, curiosity and confusion flickering in his eyes.
