“Well, that definitely helps. Due to my fighting style Endurance is important. My Vitality can heal a lot but breaking a bone or getting bitten in a fight could really get me killed. Although Intelligence can help to but it is minor.” Well talking to himself Helo slides back into the cavern and starts killing the slimes and rats on the left side. He is no longer underestimating them and is using his aura blade to make quick and clean kills from stealth. “Eventually I am going to have to learn to fight outside stealth though.”
While moving he finally gets to his destination. The river flowing through the cavern. Taking another thirty minutes to kill monsters on the other side of the river Helo clears himself a place to clean off. Stripping out of his shirt and pants Helo washes himself. Looking at his torn and ripped pants he tears off the pant legs leaving only shorts. Doing the same with the shirt Helo tears off clean strips and puts them in his bag for bandages.
After leaving the river Helo continues sweeping the cavern while avoiding the columns that are filled with spider webs. He was told that he would level up quickly but this is taking forever for him. So, he plans on killing all of the enemies in the area. But he wants to wait to fight the spiders due to their numbers and venom.
Finally clearing the last of the rats Helo takes a torch from the exit and lights the spider silk on fire. Hoping that it is flammable Helo is disappointed when nothing really happens. Taking the torch to a clump of silk he tries again and it finally catches.
Watching the fire spread it isn’t very fast but it is causing a lot of smoke that is agitating the spiders. Once the smoke or fire reach a portion of the ceiling the spiders start spinning a web toward the ground. Thankful that his idea worked Helo conceals himself and starts hunting through the rock formations. Whenever he seems a spider climbing down, he goes over to it kills it once it is in range.
After a few hours it is time for Helo to move on, looking at his notifications and is excited for the next floor.
Class: N/A Level: 1 (1434/2000)
Entering the sixth floor Helo looks around only to not see a single thing. This cavern is completely dark. Awakening his bloodline in his body Helo’s fangs grow out and his nails sharpen. What is important now is that his eyes start glowing a feint red allowing him to see in the dark.
Entering stealth Helo moves into the floor looking for the enemies. He is on a bit of a time limit because awakening his bloodline draws energy from it. While being in stealth this is like have two constant streams flowing out of the pool that is his bloodlines energy. His Vitality and Will can only regenerate so much of it at a time. Eventually he can have these things activated indefinitely but right now it takes effort.
Making his way down the twists and turns of the dark tunnel Helo hears a noise a head. It sounds like the rats from earlier but this time it is much larger. Finally seeing his opponent Helo isn’t sure how to feel. The previous rats were knee high and about four feet long. They were definitely large rats. This one is chest high and 10 feet long.
Deciding that his best option is to attack from stealth Helo back tracks and finds a rock. Once he is around a corner, he tosses the rock hoping to draw in the rat. The sound of the rock clattering echoes through the cavern. Helo winces at the loud noise and starts to worry he made a mistake. To his relief it works and the rat starts scurrying over. Carefully climbing onto the wall Helo waits with a blade drawn ready to leap onto the rat.
As the rat rounds the corner he leaps from his vantage point and swings the weapon down. Only for the rat to notice him at the last moment and move its head out of the way. His blade grazes down the rat’s face and cuts one of its eyes. With a bellow of rage, the giant rat swipes it paw connecting with Helo’s abdomen and sending him into the wall.
Striking the wall Helo is out of breath and dazed from the attack. Thankfully for him the rat is pawing at its face confused from its one eye. Once the beast regains its sense it starts heading toward Helo. Getting up from the ground Helo waits for the rat to swipe at him and jumps back only to duck as its powerful tail barrels toward him.
With its left paw forward this time the rat lashes out with its right and Helo dives under the swing to come up on it right and blind side. Slashing out with his blade he draws a long cut around its flank. Jumping over the rat when its tail coming in for another hit, he drives his knife into the leg of the rat on the left side.
Jumping back form the snaping teeth Helo moves back to the front of the rat and waits for it to strike again. With its left front leg immobile from the blade and its right-side blind Helo waits for it to lash out. Once it does with its right leg Helo moves forward and drives his blade under the rat’s chin.
Breathing heavy from the excursion and the hit that he took Helo watches as the rat slowly slumps to the floor. Once it is down, he moves to retrieve his knife. With his knives back in their sheaths Helo continues forward looking for more enemies.
This floor seems to be filled with giant rats. Because of the lack of vision, the rats seem to have very keen instincts that cause a lot of trouble for Helo. Because of this he starts aiming to cripple before he goes in for a kill. It prolongs the fight but as long as he is patient, he can maim a limb. Then he dodges the fangs and tail, because of the rat’s reduced movement.
Finally getting to the end of the tunnel Helo sits down to recover. Checking over his status Helo is surprised by the exp that he gained from the rats. He fought 34 rats and from each it seems he gained 21 exp. That is far higher than the 14 he got for the slimes and 16 from the previous rats.

Excited about his level increase Helo jumps right into the next floor. He can feel his larger reserves of energy. He also is moving fast and with more precision than before. Reaching 10 in agility and dexterity means that he is moves with the speed of the fastest athletes on earth while placing his blade and feet with the precision of the best archers firing an arrow.
This new strength is exhilarating and Helo flies through the seventh floor. It is a mix of large cavern with tunnels. The tunnels are wide and have rock formations mixing up the flow of movement. Giving Helo the room to move freely while fighting but also only having to worry about what it in front of him. The rats come in groups of three with one large and two small. While the spiders and slimes are like wheat before his blade.
Coming up on a group of rats Helo coats himself as deeply in shadows as he can than he leaps from stalagmite to stalagmite like he is trying to show off for his family back home on American Ninga Warrior. Being near the roof of the tunnel Helo is covered in darkness and drops onto the unsuspecting giant rat.
He still cannot figure out how to completely hid himself from their senses. The rat flinches at the last moment but this time Helo is moving so quickly that it doesn’t matter. Landing with both dagger first on the head of the rat Halo plants both feet onto its head and rolls his body down its back while ripping out the daggers.
Smiling because of how cool he felt just now Helo lets out a laugh of joy before dropping onto the next rat. This one is small and on the left side of the giant one while its brethren is on the right. Reacting too slowly Helo slashes a blade across its eyes, blinding the creature before drawing his final blade in a reverse grip along it neck.
Taking a deep breath Helo listens for the next rat. Hearing it making its way around the front of the giant one Helo grabs his Kukri by the tip and prepare to throw it. Once he can see the rat and throws the blade only for the handle to strike it in the forehead dazing it.
“Tch. I have to work on that.” Helo says while running forward and slamming his final knife into its scull with a swirl of darkness. With his agility and dexterity increase he has no trouble hitting the rats. But even through his speed increases his momentum he still doesn’t have enough strength to pierce the rats without help from his aura.
Making his way along the seventh floor Helo keeps practicing throwing his blade. “I really need to get a set of throwing knives as soon as I leave here.” While his kukri is nice and great for slashing, they are meant to be practice blades. They are made from a metal that is conductive to dark attribute energies. It helps Helo practice coating the blades in his aura. This is the main reason he stabs with them so much, normally they are not meant for stabbing but Helo’s aura helps with penetration.
Continuing to practice Helo is getting better incredibly quickly. With his peak human dexterity and abnormal perception, he can learn a skill like this easier than he expected.
Watching his blade fly through the air Helo can’t help but smile as it lands point first into the head of the monster only for it to pierce the skin and stop before piercing the bone. Thinking back Helo cannot help but wonder why he thought a thrown blade would do better than one in his hand.
After this Helo spend the rest of the time on the seventh floor trying to pour enough aura into the blades that they maintain their penetration while reaching the target. This isn’t working very well. As the blades are thrown, he can watch the trail of shadow as the blades leak their aura in the air. This even allows the rats to hear the blade once the aura dissipates, so it doesn’t even do anything productive.

Taking a break due to his over use of his aura, Helo checks on his level before going to bed.

Waking up a few hours later Helo thinks he has about 5 and a half days left. Realizing that he wasted enough time Helo decides that this is another thing that he can experiment with once he is out of the dungeon. Going to the eighth floor Helo finds that it is very similar to the seventh expect that the rat packs have more member of large rats and the spiders are larger this time and they will even attack while he is fighting the rats.
This came as a huge surprise that almost got his killed. Thankful he decided to stop messing around earlier. Because instead of pouring as much energy into his blade to throw it. This time Helo had his aura extended and was using it to perceives all the extra rats around him while fighting so he didn’t get blindsided.
After his initial attack to kill the Giant rat with a shadow coated blade he would main and slash the last rats. This let him feel the torso sized presence drop from the ceiling onto his head. With a deft movement he jumped over the rat in front of him and slashed his knife back taking out three of the spiders’ legs.
After that he methodically maimed and killed the rest of the monsters. Not over extending and leaving wounds on their shoulders and flanks until they were defenseless. This meant so that once he was done all he did was walk back along the path that he trained the creatures finishing off those that were still alive.
Finishing the eighth floor Helo stopped before the ninth to recover. He didn’t use as much of his mental energy on using his dark attribute but he did move around a lot this floor and his physical energy was drained. This is a down side of his endurance. Thankfully taking a bite of blood every once in a while, helped him keep moving. But after hours of non-stop running Helo was tired.
Looking at his level Helo groan into the air. “Seriously, this has got to be a joke.”
Class: N/A Level: 2 (3942/4000)
Looking at his level with glossed over eyes he fakes wiping a tear before starting to meditate. Forty-five minutes later Helo moves to the 9th floor and is surprised to find that he is in another large cavern. This one is far more open then the last and has water running all through the cavern. Seeing a ground of slimes huddled near the entrance Helo extends his aura the max that he can which is a few meters and he starts to slash his way through the slimes after killing about half of the group he hears a familiar notification.
“Bing”
Quickly finishing up what he is doing Helo kills the last slime and leave all of their cores. Retreating to the entrance he opens his status.

“This is starting to take so much time, how in the world is level four 8000 experience. This seems like it is way too much. Eventually there has to be some kind of cap…. I really should get going. If this is what it is like then I’ll have to kill everything I can get my hands on.”
Stepping back into the floor while lugging his already full bag Helo looks around himself and sees a plethora of cores that are a higher level than the ones he has. Groannig in irritation he dumps out his bag and Helo collects the better ones and moves on.
Alright, so I need to move fast and kill everything. While conserving energy. What do I know the rats are dumb but the giant ones can sense me even if I go all out with my concealment. The slimes are easy and the spiders like to try and get the drop on me while fighting other things. “So, I will do it like I do in the woods. Move fast, conceal my noise, and hit hard.
Taking this to heart Helo dashes toward the first group of enemies he sees. This is a group of spiders. Weaving through their webs, which got easier because the spiders got larger, Helo sense eight in front of him. Moving fast and silently he kills three before they know he is there. As the other five all face him, he is already moving toward the center of the group. As soon as they are about to jump, he leads all the spiders on a train while cutting off the legs of any that come near.
As soon as they are all down Helo makes his way back through finishing off any that are alive. This process completes itself over and over again. He found a fighting style that works well for himself. Conserving energy for a big entrance and a solid retreat. Helo makes his way through the cavern. Killing the spiders first so he doesn’t have to worry about them while he fights the other monsters. Helo only fights the rats to replenish his endurance or heal and injuries.
Once the spiders are done, he does the same thing with the slimes. In the end Helo has killed at least fifteen groups of spiders and ten of slimes.

Looking around all that is left are the rats. There are only six groups but each one has at least ten members and the one near the exit has two Giant rats.
After looking around Helo decides that it is best to rest first. Going back the entrance of the cavern Helo washes himself in a stream while waiting for his regeneration. Thirty minutes later he is ready to go. Starting on the left side Helo starts using his regular tactic and working his way to the right. An hour later all that is left is the pack near the exit.

“Well, here is go” Helo says to himself with a hint of melancholy in his tone. He isn’t used to being alone. Usually, Lelai is always by his side. Even in a situation like this she would have taken aggro and given Helo a clean kill on the second Giant Rat. With a sigh he stealth’s his way toward the second group. Climbing a stalagmite Helo makes his way over the first giant rat and drops on top of it. The same situation plays at like normal. The rat notices him but it is to late, its already dead. But this time there are twelve other rats and another giant one all staring at him.
“Well. Shit.” Helo says as the second rat is running at him, flanked by the rest of them. Feeling a spike in adrenaline Helo can’t help but smile. “Huh. I guess I was getting a little bored.” After saying this he jumps and plants a foot on a column to his left propelling himself to the right over the top of giant rat barley dodging the tail the breaks the column in half.
It whisked by his head missing him by a few inches. Dragging his blade over the back of the giant rat it sinks deep as it is swirling with energy, drawing a huge gash along its back from left to right shoulder. Landing on the other side Helo jumps into the air stalling out as a massive tail sweeps underneath him, only for him to tuck into a roll and land smoothly.
Smiling to himself he leads the rats on a chase. Avoiding the giant rat and crippling the large ones until it’s only the giant rat left that can move freely, even if it is bleeding from all over.
Grinning with a fang filled smile at the smell of blood that is all over the carven Helo can feel the vitality wafting into the air from all the spilled blood. Breathing deeply, he feels as his eyes transition golden for a brief moment. It was a flicker of color, like a shadow of what Helo was supposed to be if he wasn’t cursed as a baby.
“Huh… so it doesn’t have to be drunken directly?” Helo asks the golden whisps only he can see floating in the air, as the bruises and sore muscles from his jumping around start to fade.
It wasn’t enough for him to be completely recovered. But it was enough for him to keep going in this prolonged fight without being so tired he started making sloppy mistakes. “Although, that did interrupt my stealth.” Helo says while crossing his knives in front of his face. “And stop my aura from covering my blades.”
Looking up he sees the Giant rat that he was trying to sneak up on turn around because of his dropped stealth. “While this is just another thing I have to look into once, I’m out of here.”
Running forward Helo recovers his blade, sliding under a claw swipe he rolls to dodge the tail slamming down and slides his blade along the rat’s throat. “Well, there’s that.”
Looking up he sees all the maimed rats laying on the floor of the cavern. Walking around he finishes them off before looking at his stats.
Class: N/A Level: 3 (6054/8000)
“Well, it is going up faster than I expected.” Helo says while shrugging and walking toward the exit. It has been a few hours and the fifth day is probably almost over. With this Helo decides that he is going to take a look at the tenth floor then decide if he wants to continue or sleep.
Getting to the tenth floor Helo’s mouth drops open. “What the fuck.” Looking around its like he is in an under-ground forest. Taking a few cautious steps forward while sighing in delight Helo smiles. It even feels like a real forest. Brushing his hand across the bark of a tree he can feel all the tension leaving his body. “Ahhh. I didn’t realize how much I missed my woods. It has only been a few days.”
Easily getting back into the swing of things Helo activates his aura nullifying the noise of his movement and starts to climb the tree he is next to. Climbing to the peak Helo can even feel a slight breeze in the forest that moves a little from his right diagonally to the left. Transitioning to the left Helo moves along the edge of the cavern until he is down wind. Then he starts to hunt.
Smiling he can smell the rats that he has gotten used to but their scent is muffled like they are underground. He can also smell something... Moving closer he can hear something moving in the trees with him. Waiting he finally sees it move onto a branch in his view. “Identify”
Rabid Squirrel
Tier: 0 Level: 10
Quick and mean but easy to catch. Kill on sight. They are like angry chihuahuas that can climb trees.
“Why is it easy to catch? It’s a squirrel with levels.” To his surprise the squirrel’s head whips over to look at him and its beady eyes are filled with madness. “Oh… Fuck!” Helo says while the squirrel starts running at him through the branches. Watching as the angry squirrel charges him Helo doesn’t know how to feel. That was until the branches started shaking all around him and he heard the squeaking of more. “Shit.” Looking around he sees five more enter his vision. “SHIt.” Then another ten. “SHIT!” Helo yells while turning around and diving at the ground. The first squirrel already grabbed onto his bare chest and bit into his shoulder. Grabbing its head he can tell that its endurance isn’t very high, the problem though is that so is strength isn’t high aswell. With a resigned laugh he decided to add his next level to strength.
Letting his bloodline fuel him he is covered by a wave of shadows. As the shadows recede his eyes are glowing red and his extended claws are smoking with a dark light. His features also look a little sharper and his fangs are extended further. Digging his nails into the head of the squirrel Helo can feel when he pierces its brain. As it dies two more land on him. One is running up his leg the other is on his back. Jumping into the air and slamming his back onto a tree Helo can feel the squirrel crunch before he is grabbing the one on his leg. Another squeeze and three more on him.
He isn’t in any danger but their nails are sharp and their teeth hurt. Realizing that this isn’t going to be a pretty fight Helo grabs a squirrel and bites it. As the blood flows, all his cuts start to close and his eyes flash golden. With the increase in physical abilities even though his nails are no longer wreathed in shadows Helo can now squeeze them to death.
Flailing around, the next thirty minutes is a gruesome sight. Covered in blood, squirrels and fur. Helo kills a squirrel and drains its blood. While the vitality as flowing through him, he kills a few more before biting another.
In the end Helo doesn’t know how many squirrels he has killed. But the forest floor for 15 meters all around is covered in dead squirrels. The last ten minutes Helo didn’t even have to drain their blood, breathing deeply he absorbed the vitality that was leaking out of all the blood and bodies around him.
Sitting down while looking into the branches above him he says, “Well. There is a weakness of mine. Numerous enemies that he cannot run a train on. They really were like angry rabid chihuahuas. If I wasn’t able to absorb vitality I really would have been dead.” While looking up his notifications open.

Going back into the ninth-floor entrance Helo decides that it’s time to rest. Going back into the ninth floor Helo find a stream that is crossing the cavern and washes off all of the blood and fur. Once that is done he grabs his bag, eats some food and goes to bed.
Waking up Helo has about four days left. A bit over half his time. Heading back into the 10th floor Helo starts by hunting down the rats that he smelled the earlier. Finding them wasn’t difficult and killing them was as simple as leading them from their burrows into the forest and finishing them off.
Scouting out the rest of the floor Helo realizes that the main enemy wasn’t the squirrels. Which he assumed were, but wolves. As he was scouting, he found a wolf pack eating the squirrels that he killed. ‘Identify’.
Forest Wolf
Tier 0 Level 10
Average Wolf that is on the cusp of acending to tier 1.
Forest Wolf Alpha
Tier 1 Level 1
A wolf who leads its pack using mana infused howls to lead and disorientate.
There were a lot of wolves. He counted four alphas. This probably meant there was one pack in each direction. But they all gathered around the bodies of the squirrels. The alphas were eyeing the others and there was some tension but everyone was eating. Watching them for a few hours from the trees they all eventually went back to their den.
Following one of the packs Helo saw how they split into groups of 3-5 and went to hunt in their territory. This made things easier for Helo. While watching he counted how many split off and it was 11 groups. Which meant there were about 200 wolves in total.
Starting quickly Helo went after a group of three wolves. He has watched wolves hunt before and Helo knew that they were more than capable of using tactics. Dropping from a tree Helo surprised two wolves. The third howled before lunging at him. Hearing the returning howls Helo dodged left to avoid the jaws and slashed its right shoulder. Moving around the tree he came down from he came up on its wounded side using a blade slash to block the teeth he used the other to bite into its neck.
Hearing the other wolves coming Helo leaped into the trees and headed for another wolf’s territory. Looking at his status he learned that the wolves are worth about 60 experience. If he cleans up this floor, he might make it to level 5.
