Broken Marvels Update: The mess ahead, and the mess behind.
Hello Everyone,
So where do we go from here? Well, I just wanted to take a minute and give everyone an idea about how the Broken Marvels story will continue after our hero’s leap of faith.
First, we’ll continue the adventures of Foster, Justine, Joseph and Hoover in Broken Marvels: The Consciousness Protocols. Or as I like to call it: the mess ahead.
In this part of the story, we’ll discover more about the Arbiters and their motivations by visiting Joseph’s home planet of Solon. There, we’ll meet a new set of characters that have been waiting a very long time, relatively speaking, for the prodigal alien to return.
And we’ll finally learn what happened 30 years ago that led our big kitty cat to end up on the prison known as Earth.
We’ll explore the Forge. Known as the greatest shipyard in the universe, the Forge is full of an eclectic set of aliens seeking space craft to explore the unknown regions of the cosmos. Aliens that know all too well that seeking is a lot harder than receiving. Especially when the Arbiters have final say on who can do the exploring.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Finally, our intrepid explorers will learn exactly why the Consciousness Protocols exist and what they mean for our smart-ass AI.
Still, the journey won’t be all doom and gloom. Justine will see wonders she’s only dreamed of. Joseph will be reunited with his precious past. Foster will get some of his answers. And the team will welcome another member to the party.
Heck, we might even get to watch the team get to build their own UFO while trying very hard not to get caught up in a planetwide revolution.
At the same time, Broken Marvels will branch off and deal with the mess left behind.
Here, we return to a world where passwords and encryption are a thing of the past. Where technology leaps forward and back at the same time thanks to a certain healing machine.
But such a grand leap in technology comes with consequences. Specifically in the form of a shift in power between the alien prisoners and their arbiter overseers. A fateful shift that allows once hidden prisoners to step further into the light. Ones that have been walking the Earth for a very long time.
Still, not every alien prisoner is as peaceful as our curmudgeon deputy. In fact, those enemies may even seek out a little world domination.
Still, enemies need heroes. So, we have Samuel Mosely.
Still reeling from his time in Elmira, the not so young scientist must bring the gang back together to deal with the varied and unsettling problems this new world has to offer. Of course, it won’t just be the old gang. He’ll have new allies to help him with his mission.
Namely, a slightly neurotic artificial intelligence who happens to be an unwanted gift left behind by our old friend Hoover. And, to help with his neurosis, a young psych grad who’s trying her best to treat the untreatable.
This story will be a separate fiction called Broken Marvels: No More Secrets.
And that’s it for now. My plan is to post a chapter a week for both stories if everything goes according to plan. But we all now about things going according to plan.
Don’t we?
