Fenix gazed at the eight different races that surrounded him, each one mirroring his appearance. The races were: Human, Siren, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Beastman, Dragonkin, and Dryad. Each had its own unique set of advantages and disadvantages. Although Fenix already knew which race he wanted to choose, he decided to check out the characteristics of all the races before making his final decision.
First up was the Human race. This race was a staple in every VRMMO, so much so that it would be strange to find a game without it. The avatar standing before him looked exactly like his real self, with short wavy bck hair, gray eyes, and pale skin.
The game's description highlighted their great potential and ability to learn skills faster than other races. They were known for their creativity, which granted them extra experience and bonus stat points when leveling up their crafting skills. However, their drawback was that they had lower intelligence compared to other races.
The Siren race was a bit different. The avatar depicted him with short, vibrant blue hair and shimmering scales adorning his body. Sirens have affinity for music, a trait that extends to both vocal performances and instrumental prowess. Because of that Sirens are coveted by idol singers and performers.
Sirens gain additional experience and deal enhanced damage with musical skills. Their racial skill, Siren's Song, allowed them to hypnotize monsters, though they were notably vulnerable to fire-type adversaries.
Next, was the Dwarf race. The stout avatar was a perfect representation of the race known for their expertise in mining and craftsmanship with stone and metal. It showed him with a short muscur body, medium-length red hair that was neatly combed back, and a meticulously braided beard that reached his chest.
The fine details of each braid spoke to the Dwarves' skill and precision. They were a race renowned for crafting durable and intricate items, making them invaluable in fields such as bcksmithing and jewelry making. Their only weakness is that they are not magically inclined.
Continuing on, Fenix turned his attention to the Elves, often regarded as the fair folk. His avatar, which resembled his human form but with elegantly pointed ears and long silver hair. Elves possessed superior intelligence and dexterity, traits that bestowed them with a natural aptitude for magic and archery. However, their defensive capabilities were acknowledged as a weakness amidst their many strengths.
Next, Fenix directed his focus towards the Halfling race. Standing at a mere 3 feet tall, they were the smallest of all the races in Haven Online. However, their diminutive size was complemented by their charming appearance. His avatar possessed rosy cheeks, curly bck hair, and resembled a character straight out of "The Hobbit" novel.
One of the most notable abilities of Halflings was their innate agility and mastery of stealth, which they demonstrated through their racial skill called Shadow Step. This allowed them to quickly blend into the shadows and reposition themselves during intense battles. Despite these strengths, Halflings faced challenges in physical combat due to their small size and ck of endurance compared to rger races.
The Beastmen are renowned for their distinct appearance, boasting pointed ears and bushy tails that resemble those of various animals. His avatar took on the form of a majestic silver fox. It had long white hair cascading down its back and its piercing silver eyes radiating power. Intricate markings adorned its skin, adding to its otherworldly beauty.
Beastmen are skilled hunters and trackers, and have an innate connection with nature that is unmatched by any other species. They could communicate with animals and even call upon them for help in times of need. However, the energy to do so came at a cost - they required more sustenance than others to fuel their powerful abilities and boundless energy.
There were a great number of people who chose this css. However, after an update that served as a prelude to the Golden Pot event, people stopped selecting this race. He remembered that there was a rge uproar among those on the forums, who were dissatisfied with the changes made in the update.
Dragonkin were a race that struck a bance between human and dragon-like features. His avatar stood tall with a humanoid physique but retained dragon wings, scales covering parts of the body, and razor-sharp cws. The avatar looked menacing and powerful.
Dragonkin were descendants of dragons and were known for their high intelligence and mastery of fire-based magic. They had a fierce and regal presence, with their scales glistening like gemstones. However, they were vulnerable to water attacks and suffered greater damage from them.
Finally, there was the css Fenix had set his heart on: the Dryad. His avatar for this css was truly a breathtaking sight. It had dark green hair falling in gentle waves down its back, like the majestic trees that graced the heart of ancient forests. The color resembled the rich emerald leaves of dogwood trees, and upon closer inspection, each strand seemed to be intricately crafted from delicate leaves and colorful flowers woven together seamlessly.
The skin of his avatar was like rough bark, with a textured surface that mimicked the real thing. Intricate vine-like tattoos snaked their way around their neck and other parts of their body, adding to the overall impression of being one with nature.
Which was true, as the Dryads in this game had an innate connection to the world around them. They are able to find and grow rare pnts or items effortlessly, whether on nd or at sea. Crafting with materials from nature always yielded superior results compared to anything created by another race. However, there was one drawback: their defense was quite low, and they needed to regurly soak their feet in a water source every twelve hours to replenish their energy.
Dryads were often looked down upon in the virtual world of Haven Online, considered the "trash race" due to their seemingly useless skills. However, Fenix knew that with the upcoming update in a few months, Dryads would become one of the most valuable and profitable races in the game.
The creators of Haven Online strived for complete immersion in their virtual reality world, which meant making every skill and item as useful as they are in reality. However, they soon realized that two skills were not in high demand among pyers: cooking and potion making. With no need to eat and potions easily bought from NPC's, these skills were seen as a waste of valuable stat points.
To address this issue, the creators decided to update the game. Soon, avatars would require food three times a day, and purchasing basic potions from NPCs would only restore 50 points of health or magic. Additionally, like with all crafting skills, recipes could only be obtained from monsters or hidden treasure chests scattered throughout the world.
Luckily, Fenix was fully aware of some of these highly sought after locations.
