As all three sides cshed, the fights all around the city were also ongoing. The two other most prominent fights were two quite familiar pairs to me and Sos.
On one screen there was a crowd of various different creatures that all were attacking at full force. At the center was my dad on a giant throne of made of stone and petrified bdes as a giant serpent circled around it. From the serpent's eyes, a golden glow fshed and all the church personnel and werewolves in the path of its attacks were quickly petrified. Various other creatures were around including a familiar deer like creature and a crocodile that was able to swim through shadows.
Next to him was my mom who condensed her own blood into cannon like objects that constantly fired at various enemies as well as chains that suddenly tightly bound enemies that were trying to sneak around.
On the other end of the city, was Sos's parents with her mother showing a simir form to her before with a blood moon above her head. She quickly dashed about quickly sying any targets in her path.
Her dad on the other hand, was suddenly slipping through shadows and quickly reached out various shadowy tentacles that quickly corrupted those in contact with them.
All of the fights were all ongoing at the same time while various guard vampires were facing the remaining other attackers.
The fights were significantly more gruesome as bodies kept falling all over the city. Whether it was the church or werewolves or vampires, a river of blood flowed through this city already panted red. This scenery just served to give a glossy look to the city that made it look more and more terrifying.
The battles went on for hours as more and more bodies fell. Suddenly, a loud crashing sound echoed as the group of church personnel suddenly fell from the sky. After a few of the people in the group formation fell, the formation colpsed which gave the prince an opportunity to severely injure the padin at the forefront.
Although the giant wolf got the chance to nd as blow, the padin was significantly more injured and was unable to withstand the barrage of the remaining floating war ships.
With the padin group out of the picture, the prince could focus his full attention to the wolf and was able to quickly injure the wolf in single combat.
With little other option, the lead padin suddenly blew a whistle and immediately began their retreat. While they retreated while being bombarded by the duplicated war ships, the wolf was entangled by the vampire prince and was finally unable to escape as Sos and my own parents had finished their fights and joined in besieging the wolf.
The three sides quickly beat the wolf back into their original form and quickly go back to support the guards the city.
With their participation, the chaos was quickly quelled and we were finally led back to the arena to wait for our parents pick up. Mifune came to pick me up as my parents were still out there checking for stragglers.
When I saw Mifune I quickly ran over and gave a hug as she patted my back and soothed me while walking me back home.
Mifune: There there, the battle is over you can rex.
She picked me up and patted my back as I walked back. When I finally returned to our manor I quickly dived to my bed headfirst.
Although I may have kept my cool while commanding and fighting back there, that was the first time where people were going after me when there wasn't anyone absolutely reassuring around to protect me. After ying on my bed I could feel the tension in my body loosen and I quickly fell asleep.
Some time has passed and I awoke from my deep rest. After falling asleep, I can feel the tension in my body disappear and my body has fully rexed and I felt refreshed.
I went ahead and washed up before heading over to the training ground to exercise early in the morning. This time while training my swordsmanship, I felt I could understand every swing of my sword better. After some brief other exercises, I decided to stop momentarily to eat.
When I went to the dining room, my parents were there and after a little bonding I finished my meal and decided to read a little to pass the time before going back to training.
While training, I summoned my skeleton swordsman as usual and competed with it till I finally ran out of stamina.
Time quickly passed and a month has passed since the previous situation. My parents were finally able to tell me about what is going on currently.
Warren: The prince has informed all vampires of every faction of the movements of the werewolves and the church. Now, the princes are all going to prepare for war. They have informed the races subordinate to us and now we are all in a state of combat readiness.
Melissa: We are likely to be sent to command the various forces. Because of this, we are going to send you to a safe location to grow until the war is over. When the time comes, we will arrive to pick you up.
Since my parents have already prepared my schedule, I nodded before asking them an important question.
Celine: Where is this so called safe pce.
Warren: We are going to send you to a different world. Originally, we would have time while you were still growing to teach you about world travel, but the situation is quite troubling so we decided to send you ahead of time. Let me keep this brief. Our universe is split into various different worlds. Think of the universe like a bubble bath with each bubble representing a world. Our world is one of the bigger bubbles, but its size makes it so the walls are thinner and it lets invaders in. Now we are sending you to a smaller bubble that has a thicker wall. The walls are so thick that we can only let you and those of your level in.
Melissa: The world is a little dangerous as there are silver level natives, but those are rare enough that when you add the tools we will give to you when you enter, you can definitely find a pce there. Because the walls of the world are so strong, Mifune is too strong to enter that world so we will be giving you a selection of a few people to bring with you to take care of your own life there.
After saying this, they told me to get ready to go back home since the capital was attacked, the stragglers from the raid could pop up randomly and attack me.
My parents went and called some servants to help with my packing.
When it was time, my parents as well as Mifune and I were all on a carriage heading back home. The servants who have somewhere else to be will leave on their own while those with no pce to go will be protecting the manor here in the capital until further notice.
Now that I was on the carriage I had the time to think back on all of the craziness back in the capital. The competition happened and I got to learn how to use my fighting spirit while gaining combat experience. Afterwards the big attack happened and now my parents are going to send me off to another world to stay while the war in this world is on going.
All of this happened in the span of a month or so.
Some time has passed and we were now in our own territory. From what I heard from my parents, various areas throughout the vampire territories have been raided including our territory. Thankfully, the attack wasn't major and Carlos as well as the other guards were able to repel the invaders. This only served to heighten everyone's wariness as we all began preparing for the battle ahead.
After a few days at home, my parents then took me to my dad's office. After grabbing and turning one of the decorations on a shelf a portal suddenly opened up behind the bookshelf. After moving it, my parents led me into the portal.
After leaving the portal, I found myself in an underground holding facility. I decided to ask my parents where we were going since I was in an unfamiliar location.
Celine: Mom Dad, where are we?
Melissa: We are in the underground holding facility of our family.
Seeing my probably confused expression my dad decided to expin the matter to me.
Warren: Like your mom said, this pce is where we temporarily keep things like pets and servants before they are sent to where they need to be. Think of it as a private transit station that belongs to our family that we handle. You may have noticed that you haven't seen any other family members while you have lived here. They are all present here. This pce is also the connecting pce where all the worlds we own are connected to our world. But you are not going to another world just yet.
We all stopped here and I looked at what we stopped before.
Celine: Vodol Family Servant House?
Melissa: All the people we have trained from the worlds our family owns are sent here and are their destinations are decided when someone comes needing a servant.
Warren: We are going to go in and see if anyone their fits your eyes.
After saying this we all went into the building and I close my eyes as the lights in the room were quite bright.
When my eyes got used to the light, I saw my parents talking to an older looking vampire who looked simir to my dad. The room was arranged like the entrance of a fancy hotel and was full of bright lights. After heading over to my parents, I heard what my parents were calling him.
Warren: So that is the situation, can you show us any goods you are hiding here Old Leon?
Leon(?): Oh what an eventful season, alright I'll show you some of the more valuable goods. Is this your daughter? How adorable.
Melissa: Yes indeed. Celine, this is your Elder Leon Vodol, he is your father's uncle. You can call him grandpa Leon.
Celine: Grandpa Leon!
Leon: Oh how energetic, it almost reminds me of when you were younger, young Mel.
Leon then squeezed my cheeks for a bit before getting back to business.
Leon: Ahem, you have come at quite a wonderful time. I have just procured some servants that may fit your bill. Follow me.
He then lead us over down a hallway. On the sides of the hallway were various pieces of art as well as several fancy decorative objects.
After walking a while, we came to a wide and expansive space.
In that space there were several doors that lead to various pces all over the room. Leon then went ahead and expined to me how the pce works.
Leon: Each of these doors leads to different sections with different levels of strength. While you were out of it, your parents had already told me of the requirements so we will be heading into this door.
He then led us to the third door on the left. After a closer look at the door, I saw that the door had a bel that stated the word Bronze.
I looked over at the other bels and saw that they were all beled from left to right in ascending order of strength.
After a moment of gncing about I snap back to attention and head into the bronze door. Once heading in, I saw that there was a lounge like area in a huge hallway with doors regurly pced on the right side of the hall.
Leon then went to a staff member standing about to get an updated list. They scurry off and after waiting in the lounge for a while they return with a tablet like device in hand. They hand the tablet over to Leon before taking a step back and awaiting further instructions. Leon then just waves his hand and the staff member goes off to one of the rooms on the side.
Leon: First should be strength and then caretaking ability. Next would be obedience and finally gender.
I see that Leon goes into a sort of filter area and filters out some options before handing the tablet to me and my parents.
My dad then takes the table and takes a gnce through the options. After scrolling through them all, he hands the tablet over to my mom while commenting on what he thinks of the selection.
Warren: From the options avaible, I can see about 10 options for possible servant. Numbers 83, 62, 997, and 45 all stand out in their own ways. They are my highest recommendation for you Celine. Although you can choose others, these have the most complete skillset for their work ahead while also being presentable.
After my mom finishes her gnce through she nods in agreement to my dad's assessment and adds on for me.
Melissa: Many of the servants here are more or less problematic in their own ways except these four so you should choose from among them unless you truly dislike all four of them.
My mom then hands me the tablet. The tablet showed the four that they talked about at the top and I was able to see what exactly they meant when they said what they said.
45: Dragon Girl, bronze tier (High levels of physical strength and endurance) Knows housework and is proficient in melee combat. Has a slight venomous tongue and fierce expression.
62: Human, bronze tier (Very dexterous and stealthy) Excellent housework ability and is proficient in tracking and anti reconnaissance ability. Has a morbid obsession with stealing and sneaking about.
83: Fox Miko, bronze tier (Good at summoning and performing rituals to strengthen allies) Perfect housework ability and proficient in buffing and summons. No major shortcomings, very fearful of strangers.
997: Slime, bronze tier (Can transform and use a variety of abilities and tools) Perfect housework ability not as proficient in combat. Almost no combat ability and has minimal intelligence. Will absolutely obey instructions exactly as they are told.
After seeing all of the options given, I decided to scroll through the other options. After a while, I decisively returned to the top four. Although I didn't see much, what I did see was enough to disgust me to my core. Insect legs, mispced limbs, and even things like having eyes everywhere and tentacles galore.
Only after gncing through that bit did I know my parents good intentions for leaving these four options at the top to see. Since there are so many worlds out there, not all of the natives will look appealing for us.
What my parents want to choose for me are those who can both fight and take care of my life. I definitely agree with that sentiment so the options chosen by my parents would definitely be those that fit those criteria.
After some time I finally asked if I could meet those four in person and after a moment of thought Leon agreed. He pulled a device out of his pocket and after some time he nodded and waited while looking at the doors on the side. After a minute four doors opened revealing the four candidates that were chosen before.
The four saw us and moved towards us all eventually standing before us in a line.
After introducing themselves I got to see exactly how all four of them looked in person.
In front was a dragon girl. She was specifically a bronze dragon. Dragons are mostly split between metal and color dragons based mostly on their morality. Bronze dragons are metal dragons and are usually wful and follow justice. They are also excellent at swimming and aquatic combat. She is a great choice as a caretaker and as a combatant, but her nature as a wful dragon might cause her to interfere when doing things that are considered not wful.
Second in line is a human girl in a rogue thief like outfit. She has a skin tight suit that covers almost her entire body. She is better at tracking and anti reconnaissance which, although useful, it is not the exact things I am looking for. In addition, the report on her said she has a morbid obsession with stealing which may cause more trouble than it is worth.
The third option is the one that is most favorable in my eyes. She is a cute little fox person who is not only of a simir height to me and wears a cute shrine maiden outfit. She is quite timid and would likely be the most obedient of these options. That and the fact that she can strengthen others means that she could likely even strengthen me and my summons in combat. This could prove useful as well as having her own summons as a distraction in combat.
The final option is a slime which has already turned itself into my appearance. Unlike the others, monsters like slimes have less intelligence and make up for it in various other ways. The slime has a basic proficiency in almost everything and can even condense into a small space like a bottle of water for easy concealment. The only problem is as I said, it is unintelligent and thus I have to constantly give commands for it to do things.
Of these four options, I think that I might take the fox miko as my servant in the other world. If she does well, I can even recommend her to work with Mifune in the future, but that is a future situation.
I then inform my parents and Leon of my decision. My parents give a firm nod in affirmation and Leon then calls the other three back and leaves the fox miko here.
Leon then takes the device he used before and after a few presses, a staff member comes with some paperwork. Leon then calls my parents to sit at a table before discussing various precautions.
After a while, I start feeling a little sleepy as they chat for a while. Some time passes and I can feel myself being picked up and carried around. I take a gnce tiredly and see it is my mom carrying me. Seeing this, I felt relieved and went back to sleep with a slight chuckle heard from my mom.
When we finally returned from the portal, my dad quickly moved the book shelf back and locked the mechanism back in pce. The portal closed and now I was being carried back to my room by my mom. When we finally arrive back at my room, Mifune greets my mom as she looks at the new servant next to her. She kindly greets her and all three leave the room with me sleeping inside.
Time passed and my biological clock woke me up from my rest. When I came to I heard an unfamiliar voice in my ear.
???: Umm, Good morning Lady Celine.
I rose my head groggily and gnce at the source of the unfamiliar voice.
The figure flinched as I gnced over and after a little squinting I could feel the cogs in my head slowly turning as I was getting a little more awake.
Celine: You are my new servant?
The fox girl gives a quick nod before she thought it was a little rude and quickly bowed before speaking.
???: I'm sorry for disturbing you! I am indeed your new servant who will follow you into the small world of Egis!
I shake my head to wake up a little more before asking a very important question.
Celine: What's your name?
???: Back in my tribe I was called Lu.
After Lu answered, she looked a little sad. When I thought a little, I realized that since she was offered as a servant by my family her fate was likely more unfortunate.
I then shake my head. It wasn't done by me and it had happened all in the past so people should always look forward. At least, that is what I think.
A little chat ter and I asked her to help me wash up before heading to the training ground again. Now that someone was coming with me on my next journey, I should really familiarize myself with how she fights and how we can work together.
During our little chat before, I asked about the small world of Egis that she talked about before. From that conversation, I learned that the world is set in a sort of medieval setting with a church on the bright side as well as a dark side full of various races like vampires. As for notable forces, the church has 3 silver level fighters while the dark side has 4 silvers. The only reason they are currently still in bance is that the dark side does not cooperate unless attacked by the church's silver level. Otherwise, they always compete amongst themselves.
The important thing once settling in that small world is to first secure an area as a territory. Although there are the 7 silver ranking people there, most of the nd is undeveloped due to the occasional attack by a tide of beasts. I can either take over a territory owned by another bronze level fighter or I can pioneer and take an area to defend and build for myself.
Although the tter half sounds difficult, with my family backing me it shouldn't be too much. However, since there is already a war going to happen soon, I should just take over a previously owned territory.
Knowing this information now means that both my parents have been preparing this small world for quite a while. With all of this advance time for research means that they should have all of the preparations to conquer the small world are ready.
All that is left to do now is to get used to fighting with Lu since she is here not just as a housekeeper, but also as a fighter. After thinking this, we finally arrived at the training ground and after looking around I then went and asked her to use all of her various abilities for me to see.
Lu: Shikigami Summon - Origami Soldiers!
A set of paper soldiers appeared. Although weak and flimsy, the edge of the paper is actually quite sharp when chopped on an object. Their main use is as messengers as well as to track people.
Lu: Shikigami Summon - Ghost Calling!
Now, a group of ghosts appeared that can phase through walls and can self destruct dealing mental damage to the spirits of anything in its way.
Finally, the main reason that I chose her of the bunch.
Lu: Ritual Dance - War Dance!
According to Lu, her tribe had the ability to do various dances that did various things. Although she only learned one of them, Leon had written down the methods and dances for various other techniques so she will eventually learn them. The War dance is a special dance that comprehensively boosts the targets overall speed, strength and endurance. The boost itself isn't rge but it wins in duration and the fact that it can easily boost multiple targets at a time.
Seeing these various techniques, I then summoned a variety of my summons to see how strong the boosts will be for each type of summon.
First of all is the mass weaker skeleton summon. Originally, these mass summoned skeletons are all fairly weak and fragile. A moderately healthy ordinary person with no combat experience and skill could defeat one head on. With the boost, the skeletons went from unable to beat an ordinary person to requiring either a skilled fighter or a pretty strong person compared to an ordinary human.
When the skeleton duo of my cw wielding skeleton and the archer on the side get boosted, not only are they naturally comprehensively strengthened, even their weapons are improved so now they can fight a target that has barely reached bronze when alone. As a pair, even regur bronze level fighters will struggle in the fight.
In comparison, the skeleton swordsman gets an even bigger boost to it's stats then the skeleton pair. The sword of the skeleton swordsman also improves quite a bit in performance.
Finally, The giant skeleton summon gets a massive boost in stats making it an even stronger shield than it already was. There was also a change in its weapon as it grew not only longer, but it also grew quite thick and sturdy. It can also add its fighting spirit to the mix and reach near silver level combat power.
The actual strength comparison was made by Mifune who happened to be there to watch Lu's performance as both a caretaker and fighter.
The reason that Mifune ruled the boosted skeleton as not yet reaching silver level is due to the attacks of the giant skeleton not being strong enough to deal with a silver level opponent, but is far superior to the average bronze peak attack.
When all was tested, I asked Mifune to help test and train our cooperation before we get sent to that world of Egis. She agrees and pulls down her strength to the level of silver to suppress us.
Although she says that she has suppressed her strength to silver, she was still able to crush us due to her combat experience as a gold rank as well as the main quality difference between the Silver and Gold level.
She was able to fairly simply summon fme spirits that quickly pressed us back in a confrontation. I concentrate on summoning my giant skeleton as Lu distracts the fme spirits with her self destructing ghosts. After I summon my giant skeleton, Lu stops summoning ghosts and begins her ritual dance.
Although the buff from the dance is impressive, the time needed to cast it is several seconds long. When all the ghosts were gone, the fme spirits all bsted the giant skeleton with several blows. I had already instructed my skeleton to set up a sort of armor made of fighting spirit. With my own fighting spirit melded in, the armor was made to endure various blows.
After the dance was complete, my skeleton giant's basic defense was enough to block the spirit fme's advances so I summoned my blood weaponry and we started dispelling the spirit fmes. When we were finished, Mifune had already cast a new spell toward us.
Unlike before where she suppressed us with summons, now she was constantly casting various spells with fire magic till the giant skeleton's fighting spirit was eventually all consumed. The remaining attacks smashed through my summon and stopped before they nded on me.
After the match she started to talk about our deficiencies in that match.
Mifune: You should know that sole defense can't get you anywhere when faced with a target stronger than you. You should either pn a method of escape once you can't win or find a way to distract me from going all out on a solitary target like your skeleton giant. With your fighting spirits advantage in recovery, deying your opponent is your best option besides running.
After nodding, she then let us rex and recover our energy before getting us back to training. After a few rounds, we were both starting to get used to fighting together. Although it is my first time really fighting with others, the fight against the raiding werewolves got me to understand a little about teamwork. That and how obedient Lu was about everything gave me a firm foundation to train our understanding in teamwork.
Training like this went on for a few days until it was finally the day of departure. In front of me was that same portal I went through before. After heading in with Lu and Mifune, we walked over to a different section than we did before. The area we were in looked almost like a gazebo with a teleporting formation in the center.
On the side was our parents talking to a staff member there. When we arrived they turned around and saw the three of us. After gesturing us to come over, my mom handed me a ring shaped object.
Melissa: This ring is a spatial storage device. Inside of it is enough supplies to take care of a city for about ten years as well as various books to learn blood magic. In addition, the ring only recognizes one user and can't be opened by anyone weaker than me. When you pour your blood on it, it will be connected to you and you can always find it even if it is lost.
My dad then came up and gave a bracelet like device.
Warren: This is a protective item and it should not be taken off under any circumstance. It can block a silver peak fighter for an hour at a time. It takes a whole day to recover so you should still be careful even with it around.
They then said their goodbyes as the staff turned on the teleportation device and opened up a portal. In front of me now was a portal that was bck around the edges with a purple center. After saying goodbye for now, Lu went ahead first before I went in.
From behind me I could almost hear an inaudible voice telling me good luck. Before I could turn around to see it, I was already sent spiraling through space as the portal took me to my destination.
