“Hmm, what a beautiful girl…” A slimy, wet feeling licked her neck, jolting her awake. Jun woke up feeling uncomfortable and hazy as a strong, unpleasant odour overwhelmed her senses. She wanted to pinch her nose, only to realise her arms were pinned down by another pair of hands.
Before Jun could realise what was going on, she felt a nibble on her ear, followed by a loud pant.
At that instant, a shudder ran through her, and Jun felt her mind cleared instantly.
Jun immediately struggled, but she was no match for the man’s strength. The more she resisted, the more forceful he became. His grip on her wrists turned tighter and tighter, causing her pain.
Without a choice, Jun forced herself to calm down and analysed her current situation. Right now, she was lying on a sofa, pressed beneath a stranger. His hands restrained her arms while his knees dug into her thighs, making her resistance futile. In this position, using force against the man was not an option. Instead, she must use another tactic to get him to rex his vigince.
Noticing Jun had fallen silent, thinking she had resigned herself to fate, he smiled, perceiving it as her fear and submission. Growing bolder, he began to sniff her all over, not realising that she didn’t evade his advances, nor did her eyes hold any fear.
Under the dim lightning, Jun coldly watched the lecherous man acting on his desire. Like a predator hunting its prey, she was quietly waiting for an opportunity.
And the opportunity presented itself when he began tearing Jun’s clothes.
Just as almost all her clothes were gone, Jun suddenly began crying. Tears streamed down her captivating blue eyes, silently tracing paths down her cheeks. Although it was a familiar sight for the man, the way she cried held a peculiar sweetness that moved him, evoking both pity and a strange sense of satisfaction in him.
“Oh, my lovely girl, don’t cry. It hurts me when you cry… so, wipe those tears. I’ll take good care of you.” He offered words of comfort, but he was clearly pleased at her meek attitude. He unconsciously released her wrist, brushing his fingers across her eyes as he etched her beautiful yet pitiful image into his mind.
“If you satisfy me well, I’ll make sure you can live like a princess…”
Like a princess?
A dangerous glint fshed past her eyes as Jun secretly sneered at the absurd nonsense he was spouting about. While the offer sounded awfully tempting, it was something he couldn’t readily achieve, but it didn’t matter because he simply wanted her to obediently give herself up like a delicacy for him to partake in.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know, with her hand free, there would be hell to pay.
“Really? You’d really do that for me?”
Then, as if tempting him, Jun deliberately let out a soft, breathless moan.
“Be gentle. It’s my first time.”
Just as she expected, her innocent act quickly made the man excited and impatient.
Without uttering a single word, the man’s other hand moved down, his eyes darkened with lust. He was fully focused on taking her innocence.
Jun’s smile slowly widened. Carefully, she pced her hands around his neck while she endured his caresses.
Just as the man was about to seize her lips, a sharp pain suddenly pierced through the back of his neck. Jun drove her sharp nails into his fragile neck, quickly rendering him powerless. Within seconds, she sat above him, forcing him to the ground with his neck under her grasp.
In an instant, their positions changed.
The man widened his eyes in horror and pain. He struggled, raining blows upon her, but Jun remained unyielding, her strength strong and resolute. He kept gasping for air, his desperate breaths stifled by her unrelenting grip on his throat. In the end, his ragged breathing slowed, eventually becoming shallower and weaker, until, finally, he lost consciousness.
When the man’s body went limp, Jun let go, casually wiping the sticky blood from her fingers onto his clothes. She slowly stood up, picking up whatever remained of her clothing scattered across the floor. After putting them back on, she gnced at the unconscious man lying on the ground and then ruthlessly stomped on his manhood with her high heel.
The unconscious man made no sounds of pain, but his trousers quickly became soaked in blood. From then on, he would never be able to indulge in his lust again.
Seeing this, Jun revealed a cruel smile. She felt no guilt over her actions. If she had been an ordinary girl, she would’ve been vioted by this vulgar man.
And there would be no one to save her.
Just then, Jun felt multiple eyes on her, each one sharp and cold. She gnced around, looking at the ambiguous surroundings filled with men and women in suggestive positions, before locking eyes with those who had been watching her.
From afar, a group of men sat in the rgest lounge with beautiful women nestled in their arms.
Without hesitation, Jun approached them.
Even though they appeared unconcerned, she could still make out their fleeting interest towards her. Since their curiosity hadn’t disappeared yet, she might as well take this chance to make a sting impression. After all, among them, there was one who she had taken notice of — the one who especially orchestrated this whole eborate affair.
“Avery,” Jun looked questioningly at the amber-haired man, “What is the meaning of this?”
Avery thought Juna was ready to drop the innocent act, confront him with her accusations, and end their retionship. Instead, she acted oblivious, feigning surprise at his sudden appearance, as if she had just caught her boyfriend in an unpleasant situation.
“Did he force you to come to this awful pce?” Jun gnced at the arrogant-looking man on her left.
“Or was it him who made you come here?” Then she gnced at the seemingly harmless-looking man on her right.
With no one giving her an ounce of attention, Jun continued on speaking, ignoring the impact of her words. She gasped, looking troubled. “…You wouldn’t be here to sell yourself, would you?”
As soon as she said that, a hush fell over the room. Immediately, everyone turned to look at her as if she went mad.
Of all the absurd things she could have said, how could she have made that assumption? Was she an idiot?
After all, as the most powerful among them, the thought of him selling his body to make a living was utterly ridiculous and unthinkable.
In fact, at just 21 years old, Avery became the leader of one of the most accomplished mercenary organisations. With his immense strength, sharp intellect, and uncanny abilities, he effortlessly performed miracles that defied all expectations. He might appear nonchant and easygoing, but he wasn’t someone to be trifled with.
Anyone who met his ire would meet a terrible end.
As such, even though she was his girlfriend, he wouldn’t spare her either. Under the guise of a loving man, he was the one who personally lured her with an invitation to this club, setting the stage for her downfall.
Whatever she had pnned to do, seducing men or alike, he wouldn’t get involved. But now…
Being stared at, Avery shifted his attention to Jun. He looked intently at her, then fshed a helpless smile. “Now that you know everything, would you still bme me?”
“But,” Avery hooked his finger, gesturing for her to come closer, “It was still wrong of me to keep things from you. Come here, I’ll help you tidy up. I want to earn my forgiveness.” He sounded affectionate, but it couldn’t hide the detachment in his tone.
Just as he wanted, Juna walked towards him, their distance gradually narrowing. He assumed she would start acting coquettish, but became stunned when red wine unexpectedly drenched the woman seated next to him. He saw how tight Juna held the woman’s wrist, the wine gss shaking as it tipped, spilling wine all over the woman’s pristine dress.
The woman wanted to humiliate Jun by spshing wine at her, but her pn backfired. Embarrassed by her own scheme, the woman’s face instantly flushed, anger bzing in her eyes. She opened her mouth, wanting to retort, when Jun’s sharp gre silenced her.
In a self-righteous tone, as if protecting her boyfriend from danger, Jun excimed, “Avery, look at her! How dare she bully you? You’re only doing your job, and she’s already giving you a hard time. Thankfully, I was able to react quickly and help you.” Then she let go of the woman’s wrist and looked at Avery with a concerned gaze, despite knowing fully well he was the one who allowed the woman to harass her.
Hearing her words, Avery was briefly stunned before a smirk tugged at his lips. If there were no witnesses, just based on this conversation alone would lead anyone to believe he was bullied at work. A hint of ridicule appeared in his eyes. Although he didn’t know what she had pnned, he pyed along, curious to see how her scheme would unfold.
With a faint smile, Avery said, “Oh, Juna, what should I do? Since we offended her, I’m afraid I will be fired soon.”
Unfortunately, because he cooperated, Avery fell right into Jun’s trap.
Pleased by his act, Jun followed along. Disregarding the shocked expressions around her, she confidently took Avery’s hand and csped their hands together. She could faintly feel Avery’s struggle, but she refused to release him.
“It doesn’t matter. I will find a way to support us,” Jun comforted him, giving his hand a squeeze.
As a result, the familiar gesture instantly triggered painful memories, igniting Avery’s hatred. He couldn’t forgive her, the one who would cruelly cast someone aside once they outlived their usefulness. In his eyes, she could never be sincere. Only a selfish, heartless person.
Noticing Avery’s furious gre, Jun’s wicked smile grew wider. Satisfied by her devoted performance, she decided it was time to deliver the final blow.
“Avery, trust me. I will definitely find a way for us. I promise.”
Avery stared at Jun as if he could burn a hole through her. Contempt, disgust, fury fshed past his dark eyes, threatening to spill forth at this moment. He didn’t believe a single word she said.
“Sure, I know you won’t let me down.” Avery revealed a gentle smile, masking the sarcasm dripping from his voice.
Jun chuckled.
Afterwards, as if nothing had happened, Jun and Avery left, walking away, hand in hand, back to their home that they had worked for weeks to buy. They maintained a deceptive show of affection from start to finish, acting like a simple couple facing difficulties.
Avery’s friends became speechless, disbelief etched on their faces. They were dumbfounded that Avery would choose to py along with Juna. Uncertain of what he was plotting, they decided to watch and observe as they imagined Juna’s miserable outcome.
…
By the time they reached their dipidated house and unlocked the door, it was already night. Jun walked in, only to find the inside almost bleak and empty. With just a thin mattress on the cold ground, a half-eaten loaf of bread beside her, and a pile of clothes folded neatly in the corner, she sighed, finally understanding her plight.
Without a choice, Jun stepped towards the mattress and id down, as if she had done it countless times. Then she beckoned for Avery to join her. But he didn’t move.
Avery’s gaze fell on Jun, his expression unreadable, then he said, “You should sleep first. I’m not that tired yet.”
As such, Jun yawned, nodded sluggishly, and turned away from him. Before he could react, she said, “Good night, Avery.”
“…”
Avery didn’t answer her, but stood as still as a statue. Not long after Jun’s breathing became even, Avery didn’t hesitate to turn around and leave. He walked away soundlessly and quietly, as if he hadn’t been there.
Moments ter, Jun opened her eyes. Lying on her back, she looked at the empty space beside her before a faint smile appeared on her lips. Although her expression was pleasant to the eye, no one but her knew the ugly calcutions hidden deep inside her heart.
As darkness surrounded her, she couldn’t help but ponder about the difference in Avery’s attitude. Even though they were supposedly dating, his eyes were cold and indifferent, devoid of any affection. Instead, within his intense gaze held a deep-seated vengeance, a desire to destroy her.
But why?
Yet once Jun read through the mission again, she suddenly understood everything. No wonder her supposedly devoted boyfriend had changed so drastically because — the real story had only just begun.
In this apocalyptic world, where zombies ran rampant, she was known as Juna, a 21 year old woman who has yet to awaken an ability.
A month ago, the world was suddenly plunged into chaos when an unexpected meteor storm appeared. Countless meteors pummeled Earth, not only obliterating cities but also unleashing a terrifying virus that turned the dead into zombies.
By the time the countries had taken action to contain the virus, it had already spread far and wide. The speed of corpses transforming into zombies was faster than what they could prevent. Supermarkets, stores, and warehouses became a battlefield where people fought, robbed and killed for food and supplies.
Everyone thought it would be the end of the world until one started gaining abilities.
From maniputing fire to gaining superhuman strength, the virus forced everyone into a brutal fight for survival, either to perish as mindless zombies or evolve with newfound powers.
Unfortunately, not everyone had the same potential.
Some were significantly stronger than others, while some never developed any powers at all. Without powers, the ordinary could only struggle to survive, unable to fight back. More often than not, their only option was to beg in order to survive.
As for Juna, she was deemed as one of the luckiest ordinary people. She didn’t have to beg or ftter anyone. Even without an ability, she would still be able to live well and be protected, simply because her boyfriend, Avery, was a part of a powerful mercenary group.
So, up to this point, what was the problem? Why was Juna considered a “vilin”?
It was all because Juna abandoned her boyfriend, the protagonist of this world, Avery to his death. His ck of strength made her turn against him.
In their first lives, because Avery’s abilities emerged much ter than others, he had to face a constant struggle for scarce resources in his early days, which hindered the growth of his powers, leaving him at a disadvantage. This also meant that they often starved, barely able to obtain food and other necessities.
However, despite his difficult circumstances, Avery was not someone who would surrender to despair. He was tenacious, hopeful, and disciplined, refusing to be broken. With a firm goal in his mind, he would work longer and fight harder than anyone else, all so he could give his girlfriend and himself a better life.
Sadly, Juna wasn’t someone who was willing to bear the same hardships as Avery. Coming from a wealthy family, she was accustomed to a life of luxury where every whims were catered to. Falling into poverty was her worst nightmare. While she feared death, she feared poverty even more.
So during the day when the base was relocating, Juna returned to her wealthy family, who found her and took her away. She wanted to slip away secretly, but was seen by Avery entering one of the cars.
Unable to understand why Juna was leaving him behind, Avery rushed up to question her, only to be shoved away by her bodyguards. Ignoring the pain in his heart and body, he demanded an answer, but Juna offered none, and instead averted her gaze.
That dismissive gnce immediately pierced Avery’s heart. Long before he could regain his composure, he was thrown back to the base and locked up, where he waited for death alongside the old, the young, the disabled, and the sick, whose bodies would be used as a meat shield and their lives as a tool to divert the enormous zombie tide.
With his heart numb and cold, Avery watched bnkly as the entire pce became flooded by the waves of zombies, and his blood, body and love crushed under soil and bones.
Then Avery was reborn, carrying his hatred for his heartless girlfriend from one life to the next.
As such, when Avery found out he had been reborn on the day the apocalypse had started, he was determined to give Juna a hell to remember.
Just like he did, he would deceive Juna with his fake devotion, then be abandoned and die a wretched death. He would keep his other powerful identity a secret from her, acting as if every day was a struggle for survival. The hunger and poverty she so dreaded became his weapons, forever tormenting her with their harsh realities until she died.
In the end, he would achieve the ending he wanted, his revenge complete with her demise.
After recalling everything, Jun sighed with some pity. While Juna’s cruel choice was inexcusable, it was understandable.
What Avery didn’t know was that an ultimatum was given to Juna. If she had chosen to stay with Avery, her family would have severed ties with her. Therefore, for a self-centred woman like her to escape the suffering she loathed, she would obey her family’s wishes if it meant that she didn’t have to suffer anymore.
After all, Avery was too weak to give her what she desired, so she chose to leave him.
To Juna, only her own survival mattered.
Jun closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep. As a vilin who lived through her hundreds of reincarnations, she already thought of an interesting method to deal with this world.
Although her current situation seemed tough now, she never pnned to walk down the path of destruction the system id out for her.
Using this life, she would give the protagonist an unforgettable love.
Her lips curled into a deadly, bewitching smile.
Loving someone was never fair.
