7. Game Exit

“By the way, may I get a hint who you really are?”

”Sure. Some would say that I cloned myself to reach immortality.”

”That was much more straightforward then I thought.”

”You see, Honey, I didn’t confide in my secret for a looong time. And by keeping such a secret being I naturally built walls around me. I kept myself away from people and people distanced themself from me. I thought at that point I created the optimal condition for my research.”

  ”Let me guess, a block?”

”Yes. My best invention in those years was paint that isn’t visible until sprayed with a special reagent. The only reason Gerald uses it, is because we don’t have any better dyes for wooden puppets. And he likes the challenge.”

”So you got more open about your secret?”

  ”Yes.”

  ”And your clones?”

  ”All connected to me Honey.”

Lorelei paused for a moment, thinking about something.

”I take it you have some kind of “main server” which actually manages your thoughts, instead of every clone being able to think for oneself.”

Olga flinched at that, before putting on a half nervous half way smile.

”Indeed Honey, otherwise I would go crazy. At least I believe so, since I don’t have the resources to make an artificial brain smaller then my current body.”

”How is it called? Horcrux? Phyctery?”

  ”… Honey, that’s a very impolite question.”

  ”I am sorry.”

  ”You are forgiven.”

  ”…so?”

  “I named it Central Mind.”

”Next Question, what is your radius of activity. Lets say the shortest distant from right here. Unreted to the question if it’s even the central point.”

”I believe you skipped a step.”

”If I compare your “Central Mind”-technology to W-n of my world as I now, you probably have a “router” somewhere in this city or at least the surrounding Forrest. Naturally, I also assume that your clones are all over the nation, maybe continent.”

”Bold of you. May I ask why?”

”Prejudice and Logic. Your mind isn’t in your body, but mind M and Body B still have to communicate. So there is a connection between M and B. If the connection would be anything materialistic, I would have already seen it, so the logical conclusion is that, at least the st spurt to your body, happens through something invisible. Like magical radio waves or something. Everything clear so far?”

”Who do you take me for?”

”So, no matter what you use, it will inevitably deteriorate with distance, at least I firmly believe so. So how could you move your body so human like, if there is a from of deterioration between the communication of M and B? Simply because there isn’t. By either having cables rund underground or some kind of receiving and transmitting station in between, the individual distance shrink and lessen deterioration of the accuracy of information which get exchanged.”

”That’s roughly the principle, yes. But as one could guess from the name, Central Mind isn’t the only one.”

”Task division, right? One close to you as a personal mind only for your body, which then gets managed by the Central Mind. Reaction speed would otherwise drastically drop. And Central Mind probably manages the findings of all the clones and adjusted the “mentality”, also the policy in which your own mind Untis works, so that you don’t go crazy.”

”Good enough for now. I have to but warn you, that understanding is fairly ymen compared what it truly does.”

”Understood. Last would be why I think the Central Mind is t just in this City with other clones. Because it would be nonsense. To much workforce gathered at one point not needing it. As I already said, I think you have a limited radius of activity. So why would you need two or three of you in this city? It’s not even that you would gain much new insights from yourself.”

  “Everything good so far.”

”Well, everything was just an assumption, in the end.”

”Don’t look down on yourself. Do you know how long it took to expin even less then that to the others?”

”I want to remind you, I referenced it on something I already know and is deeply entangled in my daily life.”

“Do you often say so much stuff at once?”

  ”Pardon?”

”First, the n is silent, second, you seemed to be used to it. At least pausing in between.”

  ”Kind off?”

”You also had the smug aura around you, a mix of “well, am I right or am I right?” and “praise me!”.”

Am I some kind of dog? Does this game simuted increased blood flow? I feel a bit more heat on my cheeks. And why does she look so smug?!

  ”Sooo, how old are you?”

  She flinched. Haa!

”I also heard that Wanderer live their life in their original world for around a day after the moon sets and the sun begins to rise. For us only a moment, but for you a whole day. So use the reaming time wisely. Bye!”

  *Bang*

…Wait a moment! I was a moment ago seated at the table, when did move right before the house? And why did the door closed so noisily? Why was it even open? She isn’t secretly Sonic or Fsh, right?

Ah, a quest window popped up. Collect flowers for the dye of your cape. Ask the alchemist for suited flowers. …

Well, I wanted to visit the library anyway!

  Forums:

  567: God, why? Just Why?

568: Stop whining, the forums are already full of that.

569: 568, you don’t even know my plight!

  570: Here comes another one.

571: Let me guess, you are a craftsman but can’t learn Leather craft?

572: Funny thing. Because the skill isn’t avaible anywhere.

573: 571, how did you know?

574: The tanner of Galmend resigned and now now one can take his guidance.

  575: Huh?

  576: Huh?

577: 572, please eborate. As 574, mentioned, my hardship stems from a local problem. So why does everyone experience it?

  578: Huh?

579: ^ Lol, someone is slow to type.

580: You can only learn tanning. Craftsman all over the game are distressed because of that.

581: All over? Why, it isn’t that Important.

582: Don’t exaggerate, Lol. I am bcksmithing just fine!

583: 581, 582, your ignorance is admirable. Leather Goods are the very foundation for adventurer. Iron Goods are very expensive for the poor Wanderer just staring out. Hold a moment, I will expin it fully in a minute.

  584: Writing an Essay now?

  585: I still don’t understand. Can’t we buy it from a store?

586: Nah, the Company already stated that they are pushing for pyers supplied by pyers. That naturally will reflect in-game.

  587: Ignorance my Ass!

588: There are four starting csses to combat, which won’t change for a while, as far as I can conclude from the Beta. The three types of Armours are Heavy, Medium and Light, each referred to being made from Metal, Leather or Cloth. Real Heavy Armour needs skill, time and material to create, making it very pricy. A quick question reveals, the cheapest iron breastpte would be more expensive than standard leather equipment for chest, legs and arms. So for starting adventurers, heavy armour is an impossibility. Light Armor just isn’t the way to go for Vanguards, no discussion. But what about the Magic-using csses? They will have a quick death alone in the Forrest, same as with armour-less Vanguards! So, they need armour. It was confirmed in the Beta, it was confirmed by the pore sobs cursing right now in the Adventurer Guild. It’s mandatory. Now, do I have to expin supply and demand? The supply is adjusted for the locals, give and take a bit. So we Pyers will have to mostly provide for ourselves. Weapon, consumable and armour. But who is supplying the armour? Also, bindings for weapons or pouches for consumable all need leather! Leather will always be part of the equipment of adventurer, so unless you have an alternative for Defensive, you armour-less fools will have a quick death once you leave the city!

589: 587, there is now shame in admitting one’s own fault, only in denying them!

  590: That was quick.

591: Wait a minute, the basis of your cim is the absolute need of armour until Craftsman either learn Leather working or the pyers can afford heavy armour, right? Can’t people just fight with the beginner clothes with which they fought rabbits?

592: Someone did already read it all!

593: Go in the Forrest for a minute, and you will find out.

594: Fine. I am pretty good, you must know. I have a score over 120,000 in Sword Fight master.

  595: Yeeesss, good luck.

  596: He will die.

  597: 596, yes, he will.
