5. Quest Clear!

  “So, mind expining what happened?”

This time, it’s a simir setup as before. Just with everyone this time standing intimating before four kneeing guys. One of them is Gelbert, and the other are Pyers. Brock has his Arms crossed, Olga is intimidating enough by standing in the middle with a cane and the Tailor has one of her hand on her check while smiling with her eyes closed. And I am also there! Leaning against the wall near the door and giving them a scrutinising gaze!

”You see, we thought, since no one was here, and it, ehm, was empty?” (Pyer 1)

”DON’T LISTEN TO THESE THIEFS! THEY TRIED TO ROB ME MY STUFF!” (Gelbert)

”Silence.” (Lorelei (am I not cool?))

”So you three are thief’s?” (Olga)

  ”No, ma’am, we are humble…” (Pyer 1)

“We caught you at the act, don’t deny it.” (Brock)

”The Guards are close.” (Me again!)

“No, you misunderstood, we are innocent! We…” (Panicking Pyer 2)

”Tried to steal my stuff? Well, bad luck for you!” (Gelbert)

”Gelbert, we still didn’t clear up why you are so loaded with goodies that we produced, but you barely give anything. We are all ears.” (Tailor)

“No, no, that’s a misunderstanding…” (Déjà-vu?)(Gelbert) “Excuse me, Miss. What happened?” (Guard)

“I go clear up the circumstances.” (Lorelei) “Thank you~.” (Tailor)

With an acknowledging nod of Olga and thanks from the Tailor, Lorelei goes outside. The Pyers were caught with an unfortunate timing. I don’t think they will get away. Anytime they said something, even when asked, they got interrupt. One could conclude that this is one of the safeguard against interruptions, and they don’t have any way to turn the table against the crafter. Against the guards, maybe, but I don’t think they have anything in their hands.

“The three guys there kneeling on the ground are guilty of attempted theft. Not Gelbert, he would have been the Victim.”

“Okay, ahem, what I happening right now?”

“Sorry, but this isn’t your business. About the Thieves, they tried to take away the tanned skins there, one of them broke through the window and opened the door from the inside. Together they carried some of the goods out of the tannery. They walked put as if it’s was normal, probably to avoid suspicion. Additionally, there is a high chance they have some in their pouch too. Over there is the open window, and everyone here is a witness. Anything else?”

”Yes, please give your testimony in the guard station.”

  ”Understood.”

Instead of being further confused, the guard switched to a professional attitude. It seems like she said all the right keywords.

Soon enough they stand before a block-like building with a barricade next to it, retive in the centre of the city. She saw a barricade also near the gate, but this one is rger. After they entered Lorelei was led by only two guards, which soon turned to the nearest door, leading to an interrogation room. Desk, chairs, magic mp (presumably) and cold stone. Not much more.

“Did you see the Thieves stealing the items?”

”No, only after they purloined them did I saw them.”

”Why are you sure that they stole them?”

”They walked put of the Tannery with the goods and Gelbert, the tanner, screamed at them being thieves and having stolen them.”

”Did you only see that much?”

  ”Yes.”

”Why did you know how they broke in?”

”I inspected the surroundings. Additionally, on the forums exclusive for the Wanderer, someone proudly messaged and sendet picture of how he broke in.”

”… sooo, one of the thieves was boasting about it at the weird Wanderer tool?”

  ”Yes.”

”I don’t know if we can use that as an evidence.”

”That’s fine. All the circumstance point at them being thieves.”

The guard contempted something, before walking out of the door while giving Lorelei a hand sigh to stay seated. Some half a minute ter he comes back.

“Can you testify that the three of them walked out of the tannery and were accused of theft by Gelbert, the owner of the Tannery?”

  ”I can.”

”Can you testify that you were truthful and revealed the whole truth.”

”I can testify that I have a clear conscience.”

”Then, thank you for your cooperation Miss.”

  ”With pleasure.”

Lorelei gave the Guard a handshake and left through the door she entered. A feeling of tiredness settles over her, so questing is unlikely now, unless there are some very easy ones. Apropos questing, I should register in the guild by now. … wasn’t there a registration fee? But I didn’t exchange my Rabbit drops for money! Meat gone, skin and brain to. Should I sell the shortsword? Nonono, don’t panic. Maybe I get a Monterey reward for the Quest. Oh, wait! I wanted the diluted potions, but there was still left over meat for which I got money! Is that enough?

After having gone through many different poses and expressions, all while being watched by the residents, she finally made her mind up.She began to run to the guild, which she sees from the street, to find out. Ones inside, she hurries to the reception table.

”Excuse me, I want to register.”

”Please fill out this formu and pay the fee.”

  It’s in my Budget, Yessss!

  ”Understood.”

  Name: Lorelei

  Job: Warrior

  Style: Defense

  Expertise: (bnk)

  Martial Experience: Yes

  Aspiration: Knight

A minute ter Lorelei holds her F-Rank card in her hands. Broke, tired and happy. What a good combination.

I think I am well integrated into the city community.

  ——————————

Lorelei filled out the formu in hurry, so she missed out some things. Style is for preferred Weapons, like long spears, hammers or simir. Expertise for having been professionally trained in something, be it a martial art or herbalism. Martial Experience is the number of Years or Months one was trained. Everyone of them had an example written on the right side of the paper. The Receptionist forgot it expin it to, after such an hectic day.

The general impression of the town changes depending on one’s behaviour. Especially important are key areas and key NPC’s. For example, renowned craftsman, the guards, city square or adventurer guild. Depending in close they were, and how many witness it first hand, even people who don’t know her can have a stringer prejudiced impression. Currently, she is tagged as “quirky” by most and “cooperative” by the guards.

  Forums:

123: finally! I was wondering what happened!

124: craftsman css was avaible, but no world message appeared. It was really strange.

  125: Maybe a g or something?

126: It’s funny how many Pyers cimed to have been the first one and the craftsman should be grateful for them, but in the end it was not even one of these posers who was first!

127: so, what do you think was responsible for the g? Every other world message flowed smoothly.

128: how should we know? Ask the management!
