Chapter 9 – Castle with it’s Fortress

I still can't fully understand this man. Dante, the father of this body... Is someone who somehow managed to be a combination of a genius scientist and a fundamentally rather sick individual.

How can someone who has great credibility in the world of science calmly ask existentialist questions to a baby who can't even support his own head?

If this isn't some form of mild mental disorder, I don't know what else could expin it. I don't know if he's just joking around, or if this is part of some weird experiment he's been designing in her mind. But one thing's for sure, he's dangerous.

I had expected that my family in this life would not live in poverty, but I had not expected to be born into a family that was literally rich.

When the car I was riding in began to enter the compound of the residence, I couldn't help but be surprised. This wasn't just another mansion that rich people usually owned. This was a castle. Or rather, a combination of a military fortress and a European noble residence.

From the first moment the bck car enters the area, I immediately greeted by the sight of the tall fortress that stretches across the grounds, surrounding the main area. The fortress looked solid, tall and wide, with a design that reminded me very much of medieval defense architecture. However, this was no ordinary stone fortress; I could clearly see how the yers of white stones covering its walls looked too perfect, too aesthetically pleasing to be mere defense stones. If I had to guess, this stone was just an outer yer purely for aesthetic reasons. Underneath, there was most likely a strong metal structure, something like bst resistant steel or even a modern material alloy used for the construction of high level military facilities.

I couldn't even see the ring basin of the fortress clearly, which meant that it stretched for several kilometers in all directions, enclosing the main residence within.

Simply put, it's not a house, it's a personal fortress of defense.

And that raises a bigger question, why does this family feel the need to build such an absurd defense system?

As our vehicle passed through the main gate and began to enter the inner courtyard, I could see people in militaristic uniforms scattered at various points.

They wore modern looking bck tactical uniforms, with their faces completely covered by special masks or helmets; I could see each of them had a pocket for a pistol type weapon, some carried assault rifles; I was thankful for the fact that they didn't carry gatlings.

In several corners of the fortress, watchtowers towered, each equipped with sensors and surveilnce cameras installed at various angles. I could see biometric systems at some of the guard posts, where security personnel verified the identity of anyone entering.

I almost considered the possibility that I was actually being taken to a secret military facility, not a private home. But of course, assumptions had to be verified before I could draw any further conclusions.

The deeper we drove, the clearer my visualization of this pce became. Thanks to Aurelia holding me up a little higher, as well as the fact that she had the car windows open, I could see more details of the exterior of the main residence.

Unexpectedly, while the fort may seem cold and militaristic, the inner courtyard is quite the opposite.

I could see a perfectly manicured spacious garden, filled with various kinds of colorful flowers that seemed to have been pnted with meticulous aesthetic pnning.

In the center of the garden, a rge fountain stood majestically that existed in several tiktiks, the water looking so clear that I could see the biases of light reflected on its surface. The design was cssic, like those commonly found in European royal paces.

Realistic statues are scattered at several points of the park, these statues are no ordinary statues. The shapes were so detailed, so lifelike, as if they could move at any time. I wondered if these statues were just decorative, or if there was a deeper meaning behind their choice of form and expression.

In some corners, I could see paths that seemed to lead to areas not yet visible from here. Perhaps there are more hidden parts to this garden, such as: a maze, an ornamental pond, or even something bigger.

As our vehicle got closer to the main building, I began to realize something else. Something more amazing than the defense system or the vast garden in the inner courtyard; the architecture.

Most modern buildings use square and boxy shapes as their main foundation, maintaining efficiency and function above all else. This is not a modern house with a minimalist design dominated by gss and simple geometric structures like I used to see in my previous life.

It is a residence that seems to be from an era long gone, but still stands tall against time.

From my limited view, I could see various elements of European 18th-century architectural styles blended in perfect harmony: gothic, victorian, baroque, and even a touch of romanticism.

There are parts that soar high, as if challenging the sky, standing like the towers of castles usually owned by rulers in the past.

There are broad and wide sections, indicating solidity and stability.

Each part of the building seems to have its own character, yet still blends perfectly into the overall composition.

The pilrs that stand firm are not just mere supports, they are carved with an incredible level of skill.

Balconies and windows are not just for function. They are made with graceful curved shapes, adorned with golden frames or perfectly polished marble.

Each roof and pinnacle has intricate details, with floral carvings or small figures adorning the corners, reflecting the romanticism of architecture that prioritizes beauty and emotion.

I can't see the inside, but with a design like this, I can guess a few things.

The main room may be filled with high ceilings, adorned with a crystal chandelier that hangs majestically in the center of the room.

The corridors must be spacious, filled with gilded cssical paintings or marble statues that complement the aristocratic atmosphere.

The floor may be made of marble or high quality wood, polished to a shine and reflecting light perfectly.

Most likely, their personal library is something bigger than it should be. A pce that could hold not just hundreds, but thousands of books from various ages and nguages.

I could imagine a hall with high ceilings, bookshelves reaching up to the second or third floor, with a wrought iron circur staircase specially made to give access to the upper part.
