Chapter 17 Lava ruin tournament round 2 part 2

Willow felt pure terror as she gazed towards the location of the group of pterodactyls.

These creatures brought back memories from her past, which she would rather soon

forget. Letting those thoughts subside, Willow braced herself for the battle ahead.

The dark brown beings soared through the sky, careful to avoid the others territory.

Willow was within the territory of one of these creatures, and this caused it to become

in ragged. The pterodactyl spread its feet, this was so that it would be able to grip

  Willow.

Willow could see a pterodactyl in the horizon, it was heading down towards her.

Willow pulled her knife from the storage belt, which she had Wave make for her.

As the claws of the pterodactyl grew closer to her, Willow unleashed a furry of

  slashes.

The pterodactyl felt a sharp slash in the center of its foot, this was the same location

it was trying to grip the invader from. Breathing in, the pterodactyl’s beak begins to

fill with a brown fluid, which is what its saliva is composed of.

Willow notices something strange, as the pterodactyl breaths in. The sent in the air

begins shifting, replaced with a sweet but familiar smell. Willow feels something

hot falling on top of her head. Not only is it so hot that it burns, but it is also sticky.

The pterodactyl has now coated Willow with its saliva. Breathing in again, the air

starts to chill once it exhales. This causes the saliva Willow is coated in to harden.

The pterodactyl loosens its claws to try and nab Willow once more.

Willow can feel the sticky substance hardening, and needs to break free before it

is to late to do so. In the palms of her hands, Willow begins to form a small shadow

flame. Once the pterodactyl is about to grab her, Willow turns up the intensity of

the shadow flame. The hard coating shatters, and then falls to the ground. On the

ground the coating begins to bubble, and then melt. With the shadow flame still

in her hand, Willow fires it forwards towards the pterodactyl.

The pterodactyl is shocked at the sudden development, and has yet to notice the

black fire in this females hands. A strange pain it has not felt since it was young

fills its center. When it was younger the pterodactyl had landed briefly into a lava

pool, at the time not knowing the difference between lava and water.

Willow watched as the pterodactyl retreated from her, and knew she needed a way

to attack it while it was in the sky.

Raid was watching the whole thing from Willow’s shadow, unsure of what he could

do to help her at that time. Raid popped out and gave Willow an apologetic look.

“Do not worry about it Raid, I know you can be relied on when I need you the most.”

Raid heard Willow say, trying to reassure him.

Willow looked on the ground at the substance she had been coated in.

“Of course! That is what it was!” Willow exclaimed as she picked up a piece of

the substance. The substance as it turned out was chocolate. Willow had thought

the reason they were called chocolate pterodactyls was due to their coloring, but

now she knew this was not the case.

Drooling in the air just slightly, the pterodactyl let a small drop of its saliva fall

towards its wing. Before the drop could fall any farther, the pterodactyl breathed

in, and then exhaled, causing the drop to harden from the chilling effect. The

pterodactyl flapped its wings, before the harden chocolate drool could fall any

farther. Using its wings to aim the drop of chocolate drool, it hurls it directly

towards the invader of its territory.

Willow can see something hurling towards her in the air, getting closer, and closer

with each passing second. Just before it can hit her, Raid puts up a small shadow

spike to block it. The piece of chocolate drool gets knocked back, and then falls

to the ground. Willow looks it over, and soon notices that the end tip of the chocolate

was actually pointed. “Thank you Raid! That would have seriously hurt if it had hit

me.” Raid lets out a chattering noise from the compliment Willow had just given.

Not only was the tip pointed, but due to the velocity it was traveling, a great portion

of damage would have taken place.

Willow looked in the sky, now seeing multiple shards of chocolate heading for her.

“Raid you block while I try and figure out how to attack these things.” Complying

to Willow’s orders, Raid creates a shadow wall, only seconds before the attack

  would have hit Willow.

Willow could feel a strange sensation welling up inside of her. This sensation

felt like mana only some how different. Willow thought about levitating, however

even if she did levitation only lasted so long, and had a height limit as well. As

Willow breathed in the strange sensation only grew stronger. This sensation felt

like there was a warm, bright, electrical light inside of her. Suddenly that light

spread to the outside, and her aura begins to regenerate slightly.

Raid looks at Willow as a bright light starts to circle her body. Willow can feel

her awareness growing stronger with each passing minute. Willow can now feel

the very essences of everything around her.

Willow begins to charge up a shadow flame. Willow now has the power to control

the very movements of this flame. Willow uses her will to levitate the shadow flame

and then has it fill the pterodactyl’s aura. “Grace of the shadow flame!” Willow exclaims

with a peaceful tone in her voice.

Not noticing its aura beginning to fill with flame, the pterodactyl is shocked by the sudden

implosion from the outside of its body. No longer able to fly in the air, it starts to plummet

to the ground. Barely able to move from both the earlier attack and the fall damage, it looks

on in horror at the grin on the invaders face.

Smirking at her accomplishment, Willow prepares to finish the first enemy off. “Grace of

the shadow fang.” Willow says, just seconds before the pterodactyl can feel itself being

torn apart from the inside, as though carnivorous worms were trying to burrow their way

  out.

Claiming this territory as her own, Willow now set her sights on the other two territories.

The two remaining pterodactyl’s felt something amiss with their auras, unlike the younger

one Willow had just killed, these two had a strong connection to their auras. Willow was

not using the same attack from before.

Raid could feel his very being filling with a bright light, normally he would be worried,

to much light caused problems for him due to his shadow nature. Once the light filled

him completely, Raid felt the space around himself Shifting. “Grace of the shadow rat!”

Willow’s peaceful voice filled the air as she said those words out loud. Raid appeared in

two places at once, he could feel the two bodies he now had.

The pterodactyl’s felt the rat biting down on their abdomen, as the pain washed over

them. Suddenly two knifes appeared next to the rat. Raid could feel a connection to

the knife, which like himself was originally just one object. Raid used his mind to

control the movements of the knife. The thoughts in his head as he moved the knife.

(Slash of the shadow rat.) The pterodactyls bodies turned to dust and were now gone.

Willow could hear the announcer in the background. “And the winner is, Willow Birth!”

Willow headed to the waiting room and collapsed, but not before noticing her maximum

health was now half, and a timer next to it which read. 12 hours remaining.

Sky felt the pain of the bat biting into his neck. Sky glared at the 4 bats in the distance.

One of the bats was quickly approaching him. This was it he thought, as he prepared

for the first attack. While the bat got closer, Sky started to feel a sense of familiarity

in the air, as though this event had already played out. Just as he was thinking this,

he noticed that his health had already been lowered, yet he had not taken damage.

Finally the bat arrived, and Sky felt the pain of the bat biting into his neck.

Sky could see the damage was the same amount done to him from an unknown

origin. “How could this be happening?” Sky directs the question to Shadow next

to him. Shadow looks at Sky with a puzzled look on his face.

That was not the first time Sky had ever taken damage in a battle, and it was

a pretty standard attack, so Shadow had no clue how to respond to the question

being asked. Shadow just nuzzled his head under Sky’s hand. Sky pets Shadow

after he placed his head by his hand.

The sound of the bats cry pierces Shadow’s ears. Shadow looks on at the bat

that had just bit Sky. Dashing forward, Shadow leaps into the air to slash the

bat with his claws. The sound of the bats cry pierces Shadow’s ears. This felt

way to familiar to Shadow, and he could not for the life of him figure out why.

Sky was checking over the health of Shadow just seconds before he leaped

towards the bat. Like himself, Shadow’s health indicated he head taken

damage, yet nothing had occurred to warrant such damage. Sky looked

on as the bat screeched, watching Shadow’s health the whole time.

“Shadow, these bats seem to be able to influence time, and repeat actions

they had already done to us before. Whenever you go to attack, make sure

that no damage has occurred to you, that you did not have prior.” Shadow

did not really understand what Sky was saying, but he would monitor his

  health closely before each attack.

Sky looking at his health, released a gale of advance wind towards the bat

that bit him. That bat felt the wind being knocked out from its breath. Unable

to fly due to the strong gust, the bat hits the ground hard. Right now the bat

would love to be able to turn back time to heal its self, but that can never be

done, their ability can only turn back time for their prey, and their bodies

are the only thing that keeps the memories. The bat is sure though, that brief

memories reoccur to the prey whenever the attack happens again.

Not wasting time, Shadow bites down hard on the bat knowing it will be

unable to counter. The bat screams out in pain, not having away to fight back.

Once the air has died down, and the teeth have loosened, the bat flies away

quickly, this is to avoid any continued attacks done in succession.

The rest of the bats watch the events from a distance. They are slightly in

shock, such a thing as never happened before. Normally their prey would

fall due to repeated attacks, which the prey had no idea happened, yet here

in front of them someone had caused pain to one of their own.

Both Shadow and Sky fell to the ground from the sonic boom. Sky prepared

another advance wind gust to strike the bat. Shadow prepared to charge forward.

Seconds later they both noticed their health had now gone down. They could not

stop their attacks and knew a counter was coming. Like before the bat flew back,

just seconds before the wind came into contact with it. The bat sent a strong pules

of sound towards the prey. Both Shadow and Sky fell to the ground from the sonic

boom. “Okay Shadow, we must also be cautious of counter attacks!” Shadow makes

  a sharp bark in response.

Thinking it has got them cornered, the bat prepares its next attack. Closely looking

over their health while the bat approaches, Sky whispers the plan to Shadow.

“Okay, lets do a team attack, I will attack from the front, you go in from the back.”

To Shadow this plan seems like a wise choice, from what he can tell, the bat can

only attack from the front, meaning it will be unable to counter a sneak attack.

The bat watches Sky’s foolish attempt of a wind gust attack, yet for some reason

something does not feel right. Another sonic boom fills Sky’s ears. (Alright time to

rewind time.) The bat thinks to itself. Just as it tries to do so, it feels a sharp claw

slash through its wings. Falling to the ground, the bat is unable to do anything and

dies from Shadow and Sky’s art of the wolves.

The remain bats notice the team work that finished their ally, and will be using their

own team work to prevent this. The three bats fly towards the location of Sky and

  Shadow.

Sky and Shadow feel the throbbing pain of the bats biting into them at the same time.

While the teeth of its allies are deep with in the prey, the third bat unleashes a sonic

  boom towards them.

Sky and Shadow can see the bats heading towards them. “Shadow prepare to sneak up

behind that one.” Shadow dashes forwards, as a gust of wind is hurled towards one of

the bats. Sky thanks Shadow for following his instructions so well. Moments later Sky

takes a peak at his health. (Wait something is about to go terribly wrong here!) Sky

thinks to himself. The amount of health lost is troubling. When their combination

attack is about to play off, the other two bats come flying forwards. One landing

close to Sky, the other landing close to Shadow.

Sky and Shadow feel the throbbing pain of the bats biting into them at the same time.

While the teeth of its allies are deep with in the prey, the third bat unleashes a sonic

boom towards them. (So this is what went wrong!) Sky sighs at the huge repeated

  damage.

Sky sees that he has taken a little bit of damage, deciding not to move, Sky waits for

the attack to occur. Sky watches as one of the bats flies towards him and slaps him

with its wings. Suddenly Sky is back a few seconds before the bats wings are about

to collide with his body. Sky reaches up grabs the wing and starts a combination attack.

confused by the outcome, the bat dies in seconds.

Sky prepares to fight the next battle. The two remaining bats begin to panic, nothing

like this had ever happened. How was it possible for their time slip attack to be countered

like that. Shadow and Sky started to use art of the wolves. Noticing Shadow’s health had

Taken damage, Sky braced himself for a time slip. The two bats bite down on Shadow’s

neck. Seeing the bats getting closer to Shadow, Sky kicks Shadow out of their way.

The bats feel the gust knock them to the ground. “Quick Shadow finish them off! Oh

and I am sorry by the way.” Forgiving Sky shadow attacks one of the bats with his

claws, while chewing the other to pieces, making sure to tear of their wings.

Sky and Shadow listen for the announcement. “And the winner is Sky Soar-High!”

Sky and Shadow head to the waiting room, and grab a bit to eat. “For such a strong

ally, you deserve a high quality steak.” Sky says to Shadow, forking over 3000 quartz

to the vendor for the best steak that can be bought.
