Chapter 91: Purple Party Goblin

  Tama

I shrugged and answered, "Tama thinks she just needs more training!" My tail wagged at the thought and Saki looked confused.

"How do you train against a psionic attack short of..." She trailed off and her eyes went wide. "No, Tama!" she said quickly.

I shook my head and said, "Tama will ask her."

Tristy instantly spoke up and said, "Mistress Tama, please train me!"

Saki sighed and looked sadly at the eight-year-old before turning and looking at the dead octopus/squid thing. After a moment, she brought her hands up and grabbed the creature. Her hands shifted to purple along with her eyes and the body began to be erased. "Just in case," Saki said as she focused on what she was doing.

I nodded and said, "Hey Saki, can you make a pet out of that purple stuff? Tama wants a purple party with purple pets!"

Saki paused and considered my words before frowning and saying, "I... I don't know?"

Saki finished erasing the octopus thing. Then she sat down and closed her eyes. She was still meditating wrong! I went to tell her, but after a long moment, a dark circle appeared next to her and Saki frowned with her eyes still closed.

I brought out Serenity and pointed her at the dark circle. After a long moment, a ball formed above the dark circle. It was purple and I loved it instantly. After a long moment, it began to expand. It grew two arms and two legs and pointed ears on its head. It looked like a goblin if goblins were made the correct way the purple way!

It had glowing red eyes that looked like gems and its hands were just claws. It had no mouth, and yet, as it shifted, you could see teeth under the mass where its mouth should be. The feet looked mostly normal but only had three toes each?

The circle disappeared from underneath and Saki gasped and her eyes jerked open. She turned to look at the goblin thing confused.

"I... what the void is that thing?!" she said as she stared dumbfounded at the pretty purple goblin with sharp claws.

"It's Tama's purple pet!" I said happily as I reached out to touch it. It instantly disappeared into a shadow puddle and reappeared next to Saki on the other side. It made a strange sound that sounded like hissing and hid behind Saki.

Saki stood and turned to face the pretty goblin. She walked around it and even poked it a few times, including in the eye. It simply allowed this and didn't run away or resist, causing me to feel a bit strange.

Why did it run from me? Saki snapped her fingers and it suddenly had a mouth and bit down on nothing before the mouth vanished again. It had summoned teethit was so cool! Why did Saki get all the cool pets!

There was a rumble of discontent from Anna as she muttered in my head, "Oh, don't mind me, your literal sentient clothing that can possess people and shape-shift. Also, I am a divine spirit. Nope, the over-glorified purple disaster is the cool one." I heard Anna sniffle. I ignored Anna being silly; she wasn't a pet, she was a spirit!

"You sure treat me like a pet," Anna said, annoyed as she shimmered. But she seemed a little less upset now.

Suddenly, a fireball hit the shadow goblin and it instantly reacted by screeching and vanishing into the ground. Tristy screamed, "You dare deny Mistress Tama!" and began to set herself on fire.

Saki said nothing and simply watched. Anna suddenly jumped off of me and entered Tristy, paused and looked like she was listening to something for a second, then smiled and said, "Great idea!" Tristy began to shoot small firelight spheres everywhere, lighting the area up and removing a lot of shadows except for small areas.

She then summoned multiple fireballs and aimed them at the shadowed areas left. The shadow goblin suddenly jumped out of a nearby shadow at Tristy. Before Tristy could respond, however, the shadow goblin simply vanished.

Saki spoke up. "Interesting. I t seems I can directly control its summoning. Unlike a contract pet, it's utterly at my disposal. It also seems to have some form of sentience." She snapped her fingers and the shadow goblin formed once again next to her.

She stared at it then nodded. "It seems its creation comes from my void power alone, which is a fascinating development. I had only considered destruction from that aspect of myself. The fact is my void is capable of summoning beings of pure... is that shadow?"

Saki suddenly and without warning grew earth on her tail and sliced the goblin's arm off. It came off in a wispy woosh. The goblin did not react to the sudden violence and stood there with one arm missing.

Saki nodded as the limb that was removed simply vanished. After a moment, a nearby shadow reached over to the shadow goblin and its arm regrew. "Definitely shadow. But how are the two related?"

I stared blankly at Saki as she reasoned using her brain and smart stuff to figure stuff out. I just wanted to touch the pretty purple goblin and I was starting to get upset. I blinked forward and grabbed the goblin before it could react.

It screeched and tried to pull away, but I wrapped water chains around it and held it down to pet it. It somehow flowed out of my water chains, turning into shadow and reappearing behind Saki again. I growled in rage at its cruelty.

Saki shook her head and said, "Tama, just ask me to make it hold still if you're that impatient." She raised an eyebrow at me and I shook my head.

"No, Tama will make it love her!" I said angrily as I prepared another blink.

Saki sighed and shrugged before turning and walking away from us. I tried one more time to catch the slippery shadow, but it kept escaping me. I followed after Saki as the shadow seemed to flow into her shadow and didn't come out.

I stomped on Saki's shadow, but nothing happened. Saki looked like she was holding back laughter as I did. Eventually, Saki stopped giggling and said, "Tama, you aren't going to hurt it by attacking my shadow. Just let it go. I will make him come out again later, okay? He will just be our purple party."

I stopped at that, after asking, "Saki promises the purple party will have purple party hats?"

  Saki nodded and I smiled.

We continued down the road after that, as Anna snickered at me and Tristy tried to make a shadow goblin for me, stating she would make my wish come true!

She sadly, even after forever as we walked down the street, was only able to summon some weird thing Saki called an Imp. It was gray and had small horns. It said something to me in a language I didn't understand, but it sounded mean.

It then tried to throw a fireball at me. But it was smaller than Tristy's. Tristy smashed it into the ground until it stopped moving and disappeared after that. Tristy tried repeatedly, but all she ever did was summon the same imp who spoke angrily at me and tried to attack anyone it was close to.

Weirdly, it didn't fight back as Tristy killed it each time. It was definitely the same imp though. Eventually, she summoned the imp and it stopped attacking people. It did speak in a language no one understood, not even Saki, and she was the smartest.

She said he was an Imp and that he was part of the demonic realm. She said he was speaking demonic but she couldn't understand the dialect. She commented on the fact that it matched Tristy's personality and actually matched what a Fire primary would summon as a contract pet.

I had a great idea and tried to convince Saki to make the Imp purple! Saki declined, stating, "Tama, I am not erasing an Imp because you need it to be purple."

I sighed and nodded, and we marched on.

After an eternity of walking, which Saki told me in frustration was 'only' about an hour, we reached a massive gate. It had ornate carvings along the outside. It was closed, but there were clearly goblin guards standing on either side of the gate. I blinked over to the nearest one and she jerked as I appeared in front of her.

"Tama and friends are leaving city now!" I said happily.

The female guard looked at me confused but nodded. She turned and walked over to the wall. S he put her hands on it, causing her shirt to rip and fall off. The male guard near her snickered and she stopped and attacked the male guard.

The two fought for just over a minute before the male one won, barely. Then he collapsed, leaving one dead and one unconscious.

Saki had reached me and walked past me to the walls. Ignoring the dead goblins, she traced her hand along the very pretty wall and then turned to me. "Anna, do you know how to open this gate?"
