The hybrid stood there. He was a bit smaller than Sharkz, his wild sharp, black eyes studied his body. He stopped at his tail.
The ‘primitive’ hybrid thought while looking at the tail.
“Cmon are you also stalling? I wanna have a fair fight, I’ve never fought a mako before.”
The ‘mako’ was now frozen in place.
“How? You?” He stumbled to the ground stunned, as if he was struck by lightning.
“Hmmm. Weird. I guess I’ll kill him. I really wanted to have a real fight.” He walked up to the downed hybrid and swiftly punched a hole in the back of his head, brains spilling out, his white hair turned red, stained with blood.
Sharkz had something in his hand after punching the hybrid. “A chip?” In his palm was a blue broken circuit board with two long wires.
“Eh, whatev, that’s that. Pretty disappointing. Science dude, you still alive?” He turns to his left to see that the scientist fled. “Damn, quite a pussy. I didn’t even wanna kill him. Well I better check on Ashwin.”
As he turned to go check on his best friend, Mako got up (let’s call him Mako cuz he ain’t got a name) and talked.
“Thaaank you! They put something in my brain and it made me all stupid and stuff.”
“Thats how they controlled you, makes sense. How did they even capture you though?”
“My sleep is preeetty deep.”
“Yeah I get that. I really thought you were –like. Fucking stupid!”
“Really? I don’t remember anything before sleeping, just that I had a hole in my head and that I’m now in a city.”
“Alright. So do we fight or?”
Mako thought for a second while he observed Sharkz. His eyes going from his blue hair, to his worn hoodie and stopped at his tail. His eyes widened. He pointed to his tail and said “That. Do you know what that is?”
“Yeah, it's my tail. Pretty normal?”
“No. It's NOT normal. It's yellowish. Have you ever heard the word ‘Meg?”
“What? Like Meg from Family Guy?”
“Shut up. No this can’t be true. The greats killed all of you. You shouldn’t be here.” He started slowly getting away from Sharkz growing more and more weary.
“Hmmm. I have no idea what you're talking about. Cmon stay here. You’re gonna leave– again?”
The hybrid turned, ready to dash at full speed then collapsed due to fear.
“Does this dude have a sort of head injury? He keeps fainting every damn time.”
He woke up but he was different. Mako’s hair was completely bright red, completely different from the blood red color his hair was previously stained with. He opened his eyes, red, with slits.
He pounded on the ground. Once, cracks appeared on the empty street. Twice, the pavement splitting into pieces, some flying up. A third time, with both hands. A massive crater, about a hundred meters in diameter was formed.
For Sharkz, everything slowed down, the flying pieces decelerated, almost stopping mid air. “I’m not that scary am I? Getting that level of transformation because of my damn tail isn't normal. It’s sad, we didn't have to fight, we could have just talked. He looked like he was really chill.”
He lowered his head clearly disappointed. He took a deep breath before he jumped onto one of the flying pieces. He analyzed the situation and formed a path, hopping from piece to piece till he got the right angle on the enraged Mako who just got up.
“Alright lets–”
Mako was just a bit faster.
He reached Sharkz first. The blue tailed hybrid dashed and hit him in the head. No effect. He summoned his blade, a long curved sword, pretty large in size.

It took a moment to arrive but its destructivity was clear. The shockwaves it caused were absurd, it broke all the windows of the remaining buildings in the area, it spun wildly like a giant boomerang, straight towards Sharkz.
Mako kicked him down into the concrete as he appeared right behind him holding him by his hair. Time slowed down. He let go of Sharkz and punched him, every single punch targeted to his back.
The first thirty punches erased layer by layer his skin, reaching his muscles. The moment his fist touched the flesh his arm turned to ice. It fell but he regenerated it.
First the bones, forming with nerves wrapping around them, the muscle snapping into place like rubber bands with the blood vessels following them.
And finally the rough skin covering it up. It all happened in a milli-second.
As the sword arrived Mako backed off and it went right through Sharkz. A cut so clean the blade wasn’t even stained.
As his two pieces stumbled, a muscle from the lower half latched onto the upper half sticking them back together. Sharkz laid on the ground motionless, his hoodie gone, his pants intact.
The tiny hybrid was relentless, he took his blade, appeared right above the ‘Meg. Right as it was about to hit his back, he disappeared. too fast for the eye.
His tiny figure was kicked over, as weight appeared on his chest. Sharkz was on it. He was crouching while looking him in the eyes.
Sharkz’ eyes were now in the same state as Mako’s but his hair wasn’t completely red, only the tips. “Man did your instinct fuck you up.”
His voice was deeper, raspier like earlier, in the sushi shop. “I got too cocky, I forgot how a new transformation puts you in this state, it’s uncontrollable.”
He makes a small ice stake and stabs it in the hybrid's heart, he had no reaction, a small stream of blood came out spraying Sharkz’ face. “Delectable.” He smacked his lips.
They looked each other in the eyes. “Let’s see how your shithead holds up against someone who fights back!”
The ice user’s jaw clenched as he took him by the head and threw the little hybrid hard, his ears whistling, the wind gushed by, his skin opened, cried blood and closed up again.
He got launched far away from the island, hitting the water twice: on his shoulder, making him spin, then on the head, helping him regain his balance.
Sharkz didn’t give him a break, he caught up to the Isurus but they were at equal speeds, luckily he blocked the ‘Meg’s hit, catching his fist. Wrong choice.
Mako’s speed wasn’t a match for Sharkz’ strength. He rid himself from his grip, ripping the arm off without a problem. The usual regeneration ability activated, the muscles surged from the shoulder like tentacles, trying to retrieve the arm.
The muscle got snapped in half, failing to retrieve the arm, he moved like a shadow, silently.
Pressure applied on his chest, teeth dug deep into his skin, crushing his ribcage, harder than diamond as if it were wood. His warm blood froze as soon as it hit air. The pain was immense, it took a moment for the shortfin to realise.
“Heuuh. YERGHAAAAHHHHHHHH” His roar blew wind everywhere, slicing skin, mostly his own.
Sharkz continued to apply pressure, his jaw was temporarily broadened as it covered his whole chest, the blood spewed as the bones kept cracking, he could feel his skin tear, his screams of agony sounded like pleas.
A sickening crunch ended the hybrid's yelps. “Delectable” He swallowed the upper torso, leaving his head, arms and his lower body.
“Hmmmm. Somethings up-”
A fist came out of Sharkz stomach.
“MOTHERFUCKER!” He got even angrier, the hybrid’s torso ripped his way through the stomach, finding its way to the head. Bobbing on the water. It reattached itself while Sharkz coughed up blood, the extra limbs turned to water as the fully enraged hybrid came back to life.
He took the occasion while the Meg was regenerating from his little inconvenience, he appeared above him ready to strike him deep into the sea, but the most he did was hurt an after image.
A whisper “Not so fast.” He could feel the forces applied onto him, the hit felt like fire.
He crashed onto ice instead of water, he lost consciousness for a moment, something dangerous during a fight with such a relentless enemy. He braced himself for the hit but it wasn’t delivered.
He seized the chance, grunting as he tried to summon the blade. It didn’t come. He called his blade : “TOXO!”
Mako’s arm stretched out calling it. “Not so fast, you ‘lil fucker.”
The arm reaching out froze but didn’t fall off.. “Looking for this?” He held the blade, teasing him with it.
The now red haired hybrid tried to lunge but his legs were frozen. He called once more : “TOXO!” It tried getting out of Sharkz’ control but his grip was too firm. “Silly little blade. I’ll teach you a lesson.”
From the place where he held it ice formed, not covering the blade but completely turning it into ice. It spread, little by little.
The little hybrid was now wild, his arms flailing wildly trying to free himself.
“NAURGHHH!” It was now fully iced. “Oops!” He dropped it as it shattered on the ground.
The hybrid had reached its breaking point, the seemingly uncontrollable full rage transformation became even worse, he turned into a little berserker, his head was twitching, his breath uncontrollable.
He freed himself from the ice and went straight to Sharkz. He attempted an uppercut but he punched through an after image.
“You thought I was gonna let that slide? Bitch.” He was still too fast. He held the hybrid by the neck and smashed him face first into the ice, as they formed spikes, reinforced by a black goo.
“MEEGGGGG!” Right before he hit the ground, he twisted his neck, biting off Sharkz’ hand, taking the chance to spurt, getting himself out of there, the shockwave breaking all of the ice, spreading the water and gushing air onto the ‘Meg’s face.
“What ? His instinct is telling him to run away from me ? How odd. Well, I haven’t raced anyone in a while. I’m gonna kill that fuckass cocksucker.”
