  LOG-026.

  "...What?"

The softly uttered word (sounding unfamiliar yet oh so proper to my ears) escaped my lips, even as I glanced around hesitantly, searching for my other...

  ...other...

  Pearl?

My eyes widened as I caught sight of my own hands in the midst of my search, strange, alien looking yellow things that they were. Like a softer form of citrine. Or lemon.

  Lemon?

Lemon. A fruit. Like the ones the birds eat?

  Yes.

The next few moments passed in a bit of a blur as I merely stood there, both hands shifting every now and then. Part of me wanted to let one wring the other, the familiar gesture bringing comfort. The other carefully noted that such a thing betrayed nervousness, not the smartest idea, even in a supposedly 'safe' space.

I settled for raising them up instead, letting me glance at both them and the utter abundance of lightform composed fabric that now adorned our-my form.

It was a dress in every way that mattered. The usual frills that adorned both my two components' shoulders and waists interlapping with one another, forming a big poofy cluster that felt so incredibly soft when I dared to pass a hesitant hand over the material.

The outfit was a bit messy in terms of colour. The edges of the dress constantly seemed to shift between clashing red and green tones, before the two independent forms of light finally began to merge into a more uniform yellow. The initial mix was rather striking, if I was being entirely honest with myself. Maybe it would settle a bit more if I spent some time fused?

Part of me thought back to my old meeting with a certain Diamond's Pearl, noting the familiar colour palette.

Then I began to hyperventilate, stumbling backwards and roughly impacting with the wall, the very tips of my hair just barely brushing with the ceiling.

A Diamond. I-Viridian had been in the presence of a Diamond-!

The brief panic began to abate as half of me did its level best to interject with cool, rational thoughts. Yes, Viridian had stood around while my-her Emerald had spoken with the illustrious, illuminating Yellow Diamond. No big deal, considering survival had been the most important factor at the time, alongside keeping said Diamond's Pearl from getting suspicious.

Oh but Stars had that particular servant Gem been such a pretty thing...

I shook my head rapidly as what felt like a pair of blushes began to settle over my cheeks, green and red melding into gold. In turn, I quickly brought my hands up, slapping at them in an effort to get the feeling to go away.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

I managed to catch my own honey-lemon hued eyes in the reflection of a small mirror nestled in the corner of the bed chamber, noting the almost glowing quality my face had taken beneath the thick mass of hair atop my head, two styles intermixing to form something familiar yet original.

What an utterly perverted, innapropriate sensation!

Kind of nice, though. In a weird, rule breaking sort of way.

Taboo. The word felt appropriate, considering the somewhat...questionable emotion coating the reflection's expression. Well, at least I was certainly more...confident?

  Regardless of the dirty thoughts...

  Fusion. I was a fusion.

Had this been what my-Vermilion's Sodalite had wanted? To...to fuse?

Well! She'd certainly gone about it in an utterly sordid way! The wretched fucking whore!

The simultaneously alien and natural curse words felt both comforting yet crass as they passed through my mind as naturally as a Pearl went through her various stance patterns, even as I let myself slide down to the floor, knees drawing up to my chest as I wrapped my arms around them.

Oh, but she clearly had no idea what she was doing, the poor deluded thing...

A good few moments passed as I simply...existed, letting conflicting thoughts and emotions slowly sort themselves out. Then I let out a giggle.

  We-I was perfect!

Perfect. Yes. Assuming Homeworld never got a good look at me. Still needed to actually escape those bastards in a permanent fashion, after all.

But those thoughts could go away for now. My components clearly hadn't been planning this (mostly) but that didn't mean I wasn't going to make the most of it.

Mmph, at least Brim's initial suggestion and subsequent attempts made a lot more sense now...this really was lovely.

...Maybe the cute but awkward Lapis Lazuli was still around here somewhere? Perhaps at the cafeteria. Or somewhere around the mess of hallways that wrapped around the habitation area in the center of the ship. The puppy eyed rock cutter would likely be ecstatic at the prospects of a second chance.

Well, there was only one real way to find out, wasn't there?

...Just as soon as I managed to squeeze myself through the room's only door. Maybe I could shapeshift a slightly smaller lightform next time?

  ---

  "Hello!"

Passing through the hallways was a careful, dedicated effort in both avoiding bumping my head and masking my wider emotions. Namely, the somewhat silly urge to giggle and snort as various Avians caught sight of me.

The cute little birds all generally tended to give the same reaction each time. A widening of their beady little eyes, followed by their feathers ruffling slightly as my large form continued to approach, and then a confused squawk as I crooned a pleased, happy greeting to them before quickly moving on.

Viridian's time spent with Brim hadn't been an utter waste of effort, after all. And considering the ever flawless Pearl was one of my components...well. To say that I was all too happy reaping the various benefits of her hard work learning parts of the language wouldn't exactly be an overstatement.

Ah, the urge to dance and twirl my way around kept growing by the minute. Maybe later?

As I continued moving forward, a small part of me pondered where the guards that had previously followed the green Gem making up part of my current existence around had gone, before shrugging it off. Maybe a certain love struck Lapis Lazuli's near constant visits had convinced the crew of this ship that armed escort was no longer needed?

Regardless of my idle ponderings, progress was made quickly, due in no small part to my now very long legs.

Fucking things went on for days. Why did the Empire disapprove of fusion again? The decision just seemed so utterly...moronic, now.

My lightform continued to move, heedless of my inner contemplations as I passed the cafeteria-esque part of the ship, quickly poking my head through the door and noting a certain blue Gem's absence. A glance at the organics within, all happily eating brought mixed feelings. Yes, their method of consumption was utterly revolting...but I also wanted some.

Shaking the idle thought aside, I moved on. I'd continue searching until I found Brim. Either I'd find her, or she'd find me as someone finally took note of the big yellow Pearl prancing around the halls of the vessel and elected to inform the Gems or officers aboard.

  Mhm, a flawless plan!
