The sword of Promise

  Zaraf slowly opened his eyes.

He found himself in a different room.

  It was inside the HQ.

After sitting up, he stepped outside and saw Shin standing there.

  Zaraf walked toward him.

Shin glanced at him and smiled slightly.

“It's nice to see you awake this soon.”

  Zaraf immediately asked,

  “Where is Abeth? Is she…?”

  Shin raised a hand.

  “Don't worry. She is alright.”

Zaraf let out a quiet breath.

“Thank God… And what happened to the Visitors?”

  Shin folded his arms.

“I have made a decision about their future.”

  Zaraf’s eyes widened.

  “…Then?”

  Shin spoke calmly.

“We will no longer send them back to the human world. Instead, they will remain under the Creators.”

  Zaraf listened carefully.

“They will become students of different Creators. After completing their training, they will continue serving under them.”

  Shin looked toward the sky.

“It means we will watch over them and guide them ourselves.”

Then he looked back at Zaraf.

  “What do you think?”

Zaraf thought for a moment before nodding.

  “It’s good… No, it’s better this way.”

“They will be under the Creators, and it will prevent accidents like Kal’s from happening again.”

“Since everyone will be under the Creators, there will be no sense of superiority.”

  Shin smiled slightly.

“This way we can take responsibility for them properly.”

  He paused.

“Isn’t this what you wanted? How could I reject it?”

  Zaraf lowered his head slightly.

“…Thank you for everything you all have done for me.”

  “I will repay you someday.”

At that moment, someone approached from behind.

  Lusy.

She crossed her arms and smiled.

“Don’t worry. After all, we are family members in this world.”

  Zaraf smiled gently.

  Then he asked,

“What will happen to the remaining Visitor members?”

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

  Shin replied,

“I gave them a final warning.”

“They must choose a Creator as their master—someone who will train them and keep watch over them.”

“And those who refuse to change…”

  Zaraf nodded quietly.

  “I understand.”

Later, Zaraf went to see Abeth.

On the way, he saw Ben at the HQ.

  Zaraf looked surprised.

“Master? What are you doing here?”

  Ben answered calmly.

  “I was waiting for you.”

  Zaraf blinked.

  “…Why?”

“Because Makima asked me to bring you with me when everything was over.”

  Zaraf looked confused.

“Eh… then let’s bring the group.”

  Ben tilted his head.

  “The group?”

A little later, Zaraf entered Abeth’s room.

  Abeth looked at him.

  “What happened… to Kal?”

  Zaraf answered quietly.

  “He’s gone.”

  Abeth hesitated.

  “…And Alaika?”

  “She’s in prison.”

  Abeth lowered her gaze.

  “What will happen to her?”

Zaraf explained the plan regarding prisoner reincarnations.

After hearing it, Abeth remained silent.

  Then she spoke softly.

“…I want to talk to her.”

  Zaraf looked into her eyes.

  They were filled with determination.

  “Then I’ll go with you.”

  Abeth smiled slightly.

  “Thank you, Brother Zaraf.”

  Zaraf sighed.

“Stop thanking me all the time.”

“It’s a brother’s duty to look after his little sister.”

  Abeth nodded.

“Then wait outside. I’ll come out soon.”

They soon arrived at the prison.

Zaraf stayed a short distance away to give them privacy.

Abeth went inside to speak with Alaika.

  From afar, Zaraf watched.

  At first, Abeth was talking.

Then suddenly she paused and lowered her head.

The conversation continued for a while.

  Finally, Abeth walked out.

  Her eyes were downcast.

  Her expression looked sad.

  But suddenly—

  A voice called out.

  “We were waiting for you!”

  Abeth looked up.

Zaraf stood there with a bright smile.

Behind him were Gray, Ben, Lusy… and even Shin.

  They were chatting casually.

Zaraf raised his hand toward her.

  Abeth’s worries disappeared.

She ran toward him and grabbed his hand.

  “Where are we going?”

  Zaraf laughed.

“It’s my celebration party for completing training.”

  “At Master’s house.”

  “So we’re all going together.”

  Abeth smiled genuinely.

  “…Then let’s go.”

At Ben’s house, Makima and Auntie were waiting.

When they arrived, Makima opened the door.

  Seeing everyone, she smiled warmly.

  “Welcome.”

That night, they celebrated Zaraf’s completion of training.

  The next morning—

Zaraf woke up beside Gray, who was still sleeping deeply.

Zaraf quietly got up and went to the backyard.

There he saw Abeth standing alone.

  “What is it?” Zaraf asked.

  Abeth turned toward him.

“What are you going to do now?”

  Zaraf answered calmly.

“I’m going to revive the FMC from my world.”

  Abeth nodded slowly.

  “…I’ve made my decision too.”

  Zaraf looked curious.

  “What is it?”

  “I won’t go with you.”

  Zaraf blinked.

“Instead, I will train and become stronger.”

  “I don’t want to be a stubborn little sister…”

“I want to be someone who can support you with strength.”

  Zaraf smiled.

“So instead of a stubborn sister… I’m getting a reliable one?”

  Abeth nodded proudly.

  “Yes.”

“One you can be proud of.”

  Zaraf gently said,

  “I’m already proud of you.”

Then Abeth handed him a sword.

  Zaraf looked surprised.

  “W-what is this?”

  “I heard your sword broke.”

“And since I’m not going with you… take this.”

“It’s like I’ll be with you.”

  Zaraf held the sword carefully.

“Then I’ll carry this with me everywhere.”

  “But this sword looks… different.”

  “Where did you get it?”

  Abeth smiled slightly.

“I asked Captain Shin for it.”

  “As his apology.”

“For the barrier incident… and for not investigating Alaika’s past.”

  Zaraf laughed.

“You even managed to rob Captain Shin?”

  Abeth crossed her arms confidently.

  “This is only the beginning.”

  “I won’t stay weak anymore.”

  “I’ll become strong.”

  Zaraf teased her.

“If you become that strong, no one will fall in love with you.”

  Abeth shrugged.

  “I don’t need anyone.”

  Then she asked,

  “When will your journey end?”

  Zaraf looked toward the sky.

  “I don’t know.”

  “But I’ll come back.”

Later everyone woke up and had breakfast together.

After a while, Zaraf entered the kitchen.

  Makima was there.

  She noticed him.

  “What is it?”

  Zaraf spoke quietly.

  “I’m leaving today.”

  Makima paused.

  Then she smiled gently.

“…Then I’ll wait until you come back.”

  Zaraf widened his eyes.

  He took a deep breath.

  “Thanks…”

“I don’t know why, but you understand me even when I don’t say anything.”

  “I like that.”

  Makima blushed slightly.

“Looks like we don’t need words to understand each other.”

  Both of them smiled.

Later, Zaraf said goodbye to Ben.

Then he and Gray walked toward HQ.

  While walking, Zaraf said,

“I’m leaving, so take care of Abeth.”

  Gray grinned.

“Of course. I’m always ready to take care of a girl.”

  Zaraf narrowed his eyes.

“If you bother her too much, I’ll come back just to punish you.”

  Gray laughed.

  “Take care.”

  “We’ll meet again, right?”

  Zaraf nodded.

  “Yes.”

He stepped forward and created a portal.

  Just before entering, Shin appeared.

“Be careful of that unknown man.”

“We still don’t know who he is.”

  Zaraf nodded.

  “I will.”

“If you need me… call me.”

  Shin smirked slightly.

  “We will… if necessary.”

  Zaraf smiled.

  “Thanks.”

Then he stepped into the portal.

  And left the HQ.

  Traveling across countless imaginary worlds.

1 year and 5 months later

  Someone stood before Shin.

  Shin spoke seriously.

  “…Then we have no choice.”

  “We must call Zaraf back.”

  “It’s an emergency.”
