In the end, things worked themselves out. Luke managed to explain everything to Charlie, in a very condensed version, since they couldn’t afford to linger long in that room. For reasons he didn’t entirely understand, Charlie was irritated with him over the fact that Angie was naked. She even threw a blanket over Angie and kept watching Luke’s eyes as if making sure he wasn’t trying to sneak a look.
“Charlie, now that everything’s sorted, you can put your sword away,” Luke said.
Charlie shook her head firmly. She was not putting the sword away.
“My lord,” Angie said from the bed, wrapped in the blanket. “I’ve confirmed my suspicions. Inside your soul, I’m able to communicate with you, but not with Charlie. And when we’re inside your soul, we can’t see each other. It’s as if we stay in separate rooms. I only know someone is in the room next door… and I somehow just know they’re alive. That’s all.”
They had already run tests by going back into Luke’s soul.
Charlie was happy the tutorial was over and that they were finally on Earth, but every time her gaze drifted toward Angie, Luke felt through their bond that she wasn’t exactly thrilled about her presence.
He guessed things would improve once Angie had proper clothes.
“My lord, if you choose my class now, I’ll be able to use an inventory,” Angie said. “Then I can equip your adventurer outfit. Every time you summon me, I’ll already appear dressed.”
Charlie seemed to like that idea. And the outfit would adjust itself to Angie’s body. Even though she looked humanoid, she still had wings on her back, so the armor would adapt perfectly.
Luke was wearing normal clothes he’d taken from the tutorial. He’d removed the assassin outfit, as useful as it was, he couldn’t walk around a city dressed like that without drawing attention.
“Angie, you’re only saying that because you want me to pick your class,” Luke said, catching her intention immediately.
“Yes, my lord. I won’t lie to you. I want us to take that step together,” she replied.
Charlie looked at him, the two red lights inside her helmet glowing like eyes.
“She’s talking about her class,” Luke clarified to Charlie, pointing at Angie’s status window that had appeared in front of him.
Luke wanted power, enough power to kill the dragon queen. And the queen had been right, he’d never reach the sky to face her as he was now. But Angie… Angie had two wings on her back. She was a Stone Angel, a creature from a mysterious race whose class options all started with an absurd amount of attribute points. It was obvious her species’ potential was on a completely different level.
“Use me however you see fit, my lord. I am your tool,” Angie said, sensing his emotions. She had witnessed Allison being taken away, and the conversation with the queen, so she understood more than she let on.
“Luke, keep dragging out this indecision of yours. I want to keep watching the angel woman naked,” Artemis added, and at that moment Charlie stepped in front of him, clearly irritated. Through the bond, her emotions hit him like a shove: something along the lines of Pick her class already… followed by You just want to see her naked, don’t you?!
“I’m not doing this on purpose,” he said quickly. “I’m thinking. If you all want to help me reach my goals, then I have to make sure you’re insanely strong. I can’t afford mistakes anymore.”
After Charlie nearly died taking soul damage, he realized something terrifying: not even his lineage skill could save a servant depending on the type of attack. And if he wanted to surpass the queen… if he wanted to reach a level where killing something on the archangel’s tier felt as easy as cutting down wardens, then there would absolutely be creatures capable of killing his servants permanently.
Angie and Charlie needed to be as powerful as he was. Maybe stronger.
He scanned the list of classes again.

[Lancer]: A frontline combatant who excels in reach and precision. Wielding a spear, the Lancer keeps enemies at bay while delivering direct thrusts and rapid strikes. A class dependent on distance, awareness, and timing to reach full effectiveness.

[Valkyrie]: A Valkyrie is one who heard the call of death and returned from it. Marked by the cold of the beyond, she carries the echo of the end within herself and turns it into strength to protect the one who gave her a new purpose. Her weapon pulses like a living heart, guided not by glory or ambition but by devotion. Reborn between life and death, she swore to guard her master with her very existence, and every strike she delivers is a silent prayer to those who have already passed on. In battle, the sound of steel and the beat of her heart echo like invisible wings rising amid the chaos. A Valkyrie does not fight for herself. She fights for the one who reminded her that life, fragile as it is, can still be sacred.

He possesses abilities that heighten his defense, steady his footing and allow precise counterattacks when pressured. The Knight is far from the fastest, but he makes up for it with durability and consistency.
Attributes per level: (+4 Strength, +4 Endurance, +4 Toughness, +3 Vitality, +2 Perception, +1 Lethality, +2 Free Points)
[Mercenary]: The Mercenary is an agile, offensive fighter who specializes in twin blades. His strength lies in mobility, attack speed and the ability to unleash multiple hits in rapid succession before the enemy can respond. Blending technique with aggression, the Mercenary has skills that enhance dodges, increase his speed and amplify quick combo chains. It is a class for someone who wants to stay in constant motion, striking weak points and dismantling foes with consecutive attacks.

His finger hovered over one of the classes.
“My lord, the stronger you become, the calmer I’ll feel knowing you’re farther from death,” Angie said. “And I want to be by your side. Choose the class… that will let me protect you.”
Luke’s finger stopped over Archer. “I was thinking of choosing this one. Is that okay?”
“Wait.” Angie stepped closer before he could confirm.
“What is it?” he asked.
“Why were you going to choose that, my lord? Are you picking the Archer class only because of Angelica… or because you genuinely think it’s the best choice?”
He met her gaze. “Maybe a bit of both. When we fought in the tutorial, you attacked me with a bow, remember? So I’m just giving back your previous class. You were strong as an archer. I figured choosing something you already had potential in was safer than picking a path we know nothing about.”
She paused, considering. “I don’t remember how I chose my class back then. But yes, when we fought, I was using a bow. Though I did have four arms.”
His finger rested on the Archer option, but Angie gently touched his hand and pushed it away. “Something tells me the Valkyrie class is the best choice… or maybe I’m biased because of what it represents. But even then, it’ll be easier for me to acquire the awakened archer class later, as a second class. So we should secure this one first. What do you think of my suggestion?”
She wasn’t wrong. Archer was the second best option. The real issue was that he had no idea what skills the Valkyrie class would unlock as she leveled up, or even what weapon she would start with. Practically speaking, Archer was predictable. He knew the class’s potential in the right hands. And in the hands of a winged, ancient being with centuries of experience using a bow, the damage potential was terrifying.
But Angie was right. Securing the rarer class first made sense.
“All right. I’ll choose it,” he said.
He tapped the class option.
