Chapter 41 Head Start

Seven’s phone buzzed, the soft vibration cutting through the peaceful ambiance of the ward. Glancing at the screen, he recognized the name and answered immediately.

  “Morning, Kasra.”

“Morning, Seven,” Kasra greeted in return. “Just wanted to let you know everything’s delivered and is being set up as we speak.”

Seven’s brows lifted. “Perfect. Are you coming to Inova to handle the discharge?”

  “On my way.”

  ……

  An Hour Later

A knock broke the silence, and Kasra strode into the room, his aura calm yet commanding. “All set, guys. Discharge paperwork done,” he said.

Turning his attention to James, Kasra continued, “James, we’ll keep the bodyguards here for you until you’re discharged.”

Seven added, “James, Dr. Gill will follow up in my absence. I’ll be back on Wednesday for your injection. If there are no complications, you can be discharged after that.”

James inclined his head while Kasra turned his attention to Sana, offering her a rare, playful grin. “Ready to go home, Princess?”

Sana feigned a tired sigh, though the mischief in her eyes betrayed her. “Bruh, my spirit had a head start; she checked out eons ago.”

They shared a laugh before she realized something, her smirk faltering. “Wait. Kas, did you bring me any clothes?”

Kasra blinked, then winced. “Ah… sorry, Princess. I was at TITAN HQ. It slipped my mind.”

Sana’s disappointment flickered across her features, though she tried to mask it. Before she could respond, Seven suggested, “How about this? I’ll put one of my shirts over your gown, and you can wear my jacket too. It’ll keep you warm.”

Her furrowed brows eased, a trace of her cheekiness returning. “Hmm… Be honest: do you just like seeing me in your clothes?”

Seven chuckled softly, fishing a fresh shirt from his backpack and draping it over her. Then, he settled his jacket on her shoulders, carefully buttoning the first few buttons. His hands moved with practiced attentiveness, their closeness thickening the air around them.

Once finished, he nodded to Kasra. “We’re good to go.”

As if on cue, a nurse entered, pushing a wheelchair. Seven approached her and took over with practiced ease. “Thank you, I’ll take it from here.”

“Of course, Dr. Seven,” she replied with a star-struck stare before turning to leave. Gosh, what a hunk!

The trio made their way to the sleek Lamborghini parked in the multi-story garage. Seven gently placed Sana in the plush backseat while Kasra placed a call to the chef, instructing him to prepare lunch. Then, he dialed Kian to inform him of their impending arrival.

Ending the call, the Urus purred to life, the powerful vehicle smoothly guiding them toward The Cliffs.

  ……

  The Cliffs

Kian and Harper had just finished their meal when the call from Kasra brought a flicker of excitement to Kian’s face. He slid his phone back into his pocket, catching Harper’s expectant expression.

“Kian, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop… but is Sana on her way back?” she asked, a hopeful edge in her voice. “Would it be alright if I stayed? I haven’t seen her in three weeks!”

Kian’s timbre was magnetic, “Of course, Harper. Feel free to stay here as long as you like.”

  ---

  Around 20 Minutes Later

The Lamborghini rolled to a smooth standstill at The Cliffs’ grand entrance. Kian was already waiting. Wheelchair ready and a warm smile on his face, he felt relieved and happy that his little sister was finally coming home.

Seven unbuckled Sana’s seatbelt and motioned to her door. His arms were strong yet gentle as he lifted her out, settling her into the wheelchair. From a few feet away, Harper watched in awe as the scene unfolded before her, visibly impressed by his effortless strength and striking features.

Is he Sana’s other brother? she wondered. Doesn’t look anything like Kian at all!

Her daze broke as Seven turned the wheelchair, revealing Sana grinning like someone who’d finally made it through a storm.

Harper lit up, rushing over. “Darling! I’m so glad you’re okay!”

“Just a couple of months and I’ll be good as new,” Sana chirped, surprised and delighted to see her bestie here. “Thanks for helping a girl out, Harps!”

“Anytime, sista!” Harper gave her a playful wink, her energy infectious.

Then, she turned to Seven, her demeanor oozing mischief. “Hey, Mr. Hercules, mind if I take over? I haven’t seen my bestie in weeks. We’ve got some serious goss to catch up on.”

Seven chuckled, stepping aside. “Alright, but handle her with care; she’s precious cargo.”

With a mock salute, Harper grinned. “Yes, sir-ee!” And with that, she wheeled Sana toward the mansion’s grand entrance.

Inside Sana’s room, Harper wasted no time, a conspiratorial gleam flashing in her eyes. “Okay, spill! Who is Mr. Hercules? He’s not your brother, is he? Because—hot damn—he’s too handsome for his own good. Doesn’t he give you Hollywood hunk vibes?”

Sana’s cheeks blushed pink. “His name’s Seven. He… saved my life.” She hesitated, though an affectionate smile bloomed across her face. “And last night, he asked me to be his girlfriend.”

Harper’s jaw nearly hit the floor.

“I said yes,” Sana added shyly. “So yeah, you just missed the boat, Harps!”

Harper let out a peal of laughter. “Look at you! Weren’t you the one who flipped the bird at relationships?”

Sana giggled, the sound light and airy. “Believe it or not, he saved me five years ago, too. We didn’t meet again until a few days ago. And it turns out we’ve both been crushing on each other this whole time.”

Harper froze, incredulous. “No. Freaking. Way.”

  “Way!”

Harper flopped dramatically onto the bed, grinning. “So, the girl who swore off love just got swept off her feet by her very own superhero? You might just be the luckiest girl alive. A terrible accident, and then BAM! You’re reunited with your dreamboat.”

Sana’s gaze softened, her smile dreamy, voice tender. “Someone up there must be lookin’ out for me.”
