This wish of fighting Dongfang Lie was just a dream for most of the students. Mo Fan wanted to break down the entire campus and show the difference between them was night and day. Even though he was only at level 2 Fire and level 2 Lightning in the intermediate stage his battle tested self was actually very very powerful if in a life or death situation he could actually survive an encounter with an Commander level beast.
After this he fought Student after Student only using the Fire element.
An hour had passed since he stepped onto the stage, yet he wasn’t sweating from battle. Instead, his senses were overwhelmed with the lingering fragrances of countless perfumes. The bottom-ranked 500 students of the Water Institute seemed to have already accepted that defeating him was impossible, so they had collectively decided to just enjoy themselves, turning the challenge into a real-life fan meet-up.
Occasionally, a few did attempt an attack, but after failing, they swiftly admitted defeat and eagerly came forward for a photo.
At first, the audience treated it as a joke, but as time passed, the male students’ expressions began to twist, especially those filled with envy.
Among them, Dongfang Ming and Bai Zhengfeng had only just returned from a three-month demon-hunting expedition with Lu Jun. They had personally witnessed his terrifying strength and were likely the only two people present who genuinely believed he could accomplish the feat of defeating the entire Water Institute.
Meanwhile, the Fire Institute’s Chief, Dongfang Lie, remained seated with his usual composed and dignified posture, his expression steady and unreadable, as if completely unaffected by the commotion around him.
Next to him, however, one of the senior students couldn’t hold back any longer. She gritted her teeth and muttered angrily,
“Those idiots! At least throw out an attack or something! Even if they can’t win, they could at least force him to use some mana. So many outsiders are watching—this is beyond embarrassing!”
Fortunately, as if responding to their frustration, the 100th challenger finally stepped onto the stage with a serious expression.
She was a well-built girl with her hair tied in a single ponytail. Ranked around 300's in the Fire Institute, she had reached the level where students began receiving noticeably better resources. At this stage, Stardust Magic Tools were common, and some could even temporarily rent higher-grade equipment for short periods.
Naturally, her approach to this battle was different.
She wasted no time speaking. The moment she stepped onto the stage, she began drawing her stars.
Mo Fan’s eyes sharpened slightly.
Finally.
A serious challenger.
Buzz.
At that moment, his mind shifted.
Shadow energy quietly spread beneath his feet.
Shadow Element — Level 4 Spell — Night Control.
The shadows on the stage thickened unnaturally, stretching and twisting outward in silence.
Unlike fshy fire or thunder, this power was subtle.
But far more suffocating.
On the other side, the Fire Institute mage suddenly froze.
The crimson Star Nebu she was tracing trembled violently.
Her shadow beneath her feet had expanded and wrapped around her legs.
The connection between her stars wavered.
Then—
On the other side, the Fire Institute’s female mage suddenly froze. The crimson Star Nebu she was tracing shattered instantly, her spellcasting colpsing mid-construction.
Her entire body trembled as a deep chill spread from beneath her feet. The shadows around her thickened unnaturally, stretching and twisting upward like grasping hands. Her vision darkened, and within the suffocating bckness, she felt as if countless unseen eyes were staring at her.
Her breathing quickened.
The arena disappeared.
All she could see was endless darkness pressing inward.
“AHHH!”
The single-ponytailed mage let out a terrified scream and stumbled backward, colpsing onto the ground.
Seeing that she had completely lost her ability to fight, the referee immediately decred her defeat.
The shadows slowly receded.
Mo Fan stood where he had been the entire time.
He exhaled lightly.
Shadow Element — Night Control — worked better than expected under pressure.
He did not drain her mana.
He did not need to.
He had simply severed her focus.
Mo Fan was mildly satisfied.
Against opponents who relied heavily on Star Map stability, Shadow interference was devastating. Especially in rge-scale challenges like this, conserving stamina mattered.
For someone like Mo Fan, who possessed four elements, mana management was rarely a serious issue. But efficient victories were important.
Most mages could only replenish mana through expensive recovery Magic Tools. Natural restoration was rare and usually tied to unique talents or special elemental abilities.
Mo Fan, however, did not need that luxury.
If he could end a fight in a single exchange, there was nothing to replenish.
When the female mage slowly regained consciousness, she forced out a bitter ugh.
She had believed that as a Mid-tier mage, her mental resilience would be strong enough to withstand interference.
She had been wrong.
The Shadow Element had not attacked her body.
It had attacked her mind.
And that was far more terrifying.
The arena, once loud and chaotic, had grown increasingly tense.
Mo Fan had now demonstrated:
Fire that overwhelmed.
Lightning that shattered.
Shadow that suppressed.
And he still had one more element he had not even used.
“Next.”
But she never expected that Mo Fan’s spiritual force had grown so much since the start of the semester.
In the end, she still lost in a single move.
Mo Fan’s expression remained calm. After taking down this opponent, the atmosphere on the battlefield immediately shifted. The female students of the Fire Institute, though still gentle in nature and polite in speech, finally chose to fight seriously.
Mo Fan, in turn, showed no mercy. His Shadow Element and Lightning Element Basic Spells were seamlessly interwoven and cast interchangeably. With his cultivation continuously rising, his spiritual force had already reached the peak of the Third Realm.
The Fire Institute students ranged from single-element Mid-tier Level 1 to dual-element Mid-tier Level 2, yet none could break through his defenses. He dismantled their attacks with precision and defeated them one after another without wasting excess energy.
When pressure began to build from multiple challengers, he would activate his defensive Magic Tools, wield the Bck-Gold Dragon-Patterned Sword, and rely on his Cloud Boots Magic Tool to reposition across the battlefield, enduring waves of Mid-tier spells while systematically eliminating his opponents.
Many female mages, who were slower in stabilizing their Nebu, didn’t even have time to complete their spells before being struck down and forced out of the arena.
Mo Fan’s power was overwhelming in every aspect. His body, strengthened by his Little Loach, was filled with vital energy and seemingly boundless stamina. He no longer experienced exhaustion to the point where he had to support himself after battle.
The expressions of everyone watching subtly changed. Comparing this to Mo Fan’s performance before the semester started, the difference was shocking.
One hundred… Two hundred… Five hundred!
One after another, those Fiery and passionate mages from the Fire Institute’s ranking list stepped onto the stage, but within just three hours, all were decisively defeated, their pride shattered.
Meanwhile, Mo Fan remained completely at ease.
“Five hundred opponents defeated… Damn impressive.”
“Tch! Watch your words, idiot! That can be seriously misinterpreted.”
In the audience, discussions erupted. The female mages of the Fire Institute had sparkling eyes, their gazes lingering on Mo Fan’s strong, well-built frame, admiration practically written across their faces.
However, Chief Dongfang Lie, Secretary Huang Xingli, and the top 300 ranked experts had vastly different expressions. They exchanged solemn looks, as if sensing that something far more serious was unfolding.
Mo Fan took a slow breath.
All four Nebu in his Spiritual World had suffered varying degrees of depletion. The Fire Nebu had dropped by nearly half. Lightning was slightly drained. Shadow remained retively stable. His Summon Nebu was untouched.
His most efficient method of ending battles today had been Shadow interference combined with precise Lightning strikes. It consumed less energy than overwhelming everything with raw firepower.
Immersed in battle, Mo Fan hadn’t even realized that seven to eight hours had passed.
By this point, he had already defeated 700 Mid-tier mages.
Soon, the referee’s voice rang out:
“Next challenger, Fire Ranking No. 130, Yu Haiqiu!”
This time, stepping onto the stage was a graceful and composed woman with an imposing presence.
Activating his spiritual perception, Mo Fan immediately noticed that she had dual-element Mid-tier Level 2 cultivation. The only thing she cked was a Spirit Seed, meaning she was most likely a senior student from the third or fourth year.
Seeing this, Mo Fan’s expression remained indifferent.
This one would finally be worth a little effort.
Out of habit, shadows began gathering faintly around his feet.
His Lightning Nebu stirred next.
The crowd could feel it immediately.
This fight would not end in a single move.
Yu Haiqiu stepped onto the stage calmly, dual-element Mid Tier Level 2 cultivation steady and composed. After nearly eight hours of nonstop battles, the entire Fire Institute expected Mo Fan to finally slow down.
Instead, he gnced at her once, judged her strength, and sat down in the middle of the arena.
Cross-legged.
The crowd went silent.
“Wolfie.”
A silver summoning formation expanded outward and frost spilled across the ground as the Snow Frost Star Wolf emerged. The temperature dropped instantly. Ice crystals spread beneath its paws and a thin yer of frost began creeping across the battlefield his royal crown glistening above his head.
Yu Haiqiu reacted immediately, her Fire Star Map forming at impressive speed.
“Fierce Fist, Exploding Heavens!”
A bzing firewave surged forward.
The Snow Frost Star Wolf stomped and a wall of condensed ice burst upward, shattering the fmes into steam. Before the vapor cleared, the wolf dashed through it, leaving frozen cw trails across the arena floor. Yu Haiqiu switched elements instantly, Wind propelling her backward while she constructed her second Star Map.
Mo Fan, still seated, zily raised a hand.
“Thunderbolt, Yaksha.”
A precise bolt of lightning tore downward, not to injure her, but to interrupt her Star Map’s rhythm. Her consteltion flickered for half a second.
That half second was enough.
The wolf vanished into frost mist and reappeared behind her, its cw crashing down. She activated a defensive Magic Tool just in time, but the impact sent her sliding across a rapidly forming sheet of ice.
For the next several minutes, the battlefield became yered warfare. Yu Haiqiu unleashed Fierce Fist, Groundbreak, shattering frozen terrain in explosive bursts. She boosted herself with Wind, trying to regain mobility.
But the ground kept freezing.
The air kept dropping in temperature.
Every step slowed her.
The Snow Frost Star Wolf did not rush recklessly. It circled, cut off angles, forced her into defensive casting. When she tried to regain tempo with a full Nine Paces formation—
Mo Fan flicked another spell without standing.
“Thunderbolt, Exploding Apex.”
The lightning struck the outer nodes of her forming Star Map, destabilizing its structure. The formation colpsed.
The crowd began realizing something terrifying.
He wasn’t fighting.
He was managing.
Ten minutes passed.
Yu Haiqiu’s breathing turned uneven. Her Nebu flickered from overuse. Frost coated her boots and sleeves. Her Fire spells had weakened in the cold-saturated arena.
Desperate, she unleashed her strongest attack.
“Fierce Fist, Nine Dragons!”
Nine bzing fire streams surged across the arena.
Mo Fan finally stood.
He didn’t look serious.
He traced a Star Map faster than most could perceive.
“Fierce Fist, Nine Dragons.”
His fire roared forward, rger, denser, completely overwhelming hers midair. The collision detonated across the arena, steam exploding upward in a violent shockwave.
Through the clearing mist, the Snow Frost Star Wolf burst out and pinned her to the ground, icy cws stopping inches from her throat.
Silence.
Mo Fan brushed imaginary dust from his sleeve.
“That’s enough.”
The wolf withdrew immediately.
“Yu Haiqiu… defeated,” the referee decred stiffly.
Mo Fan had spent most of the fight sitting.
He had cast only minimal, precise support spells.
He hadn’t even needed Fming Dragon Fist.
He looked toward the stands.
“Next.”
