Well crap.
That was the first thought that went through my head as I ran out of rope while trying to climb down our family well. The second thought was this well was seriously deep.
Hugging my legs in a fetal position to avoid hitting the edges I had plenty of time to regret my life decisions. There was the time I'd shaved my sister's hair in her sleep then worn it like a wig the day after. Or the time I'd stapled my hand just to see if it would hurt.
It did.
By now I'd been falling for long enough to know something was wrong and I opened my eyes to see, well anything really. Light had long since abandoned my descent or it would have if I didn't see more or it. The only problem was it was coming from below me not above.
I wanted desperately to say it didn't make sense but falling for the better part of ten minutes was also something that shouldn't happen.
The light grew and grew until it fshed so bright I felt myself go blind. Then nothing.
Until I finally hit solid ground hard enough to knock me out cold. The st thing I saw was a glowing screen like I was in some kind of video game.
You have inherited "Leyline Farm deed"
---------
Ouch.
I felt like Truck-kun had ignored my body and just hit my head while apologizing as if it would make it all better.
This pain was not diminished at all by the cold cloth that was gently dabbed against what I was hoping was only a bruise. A groan escaped my mouth before I could open my eyes to find out what was causing the increased pressure.
"Oh you are awake." A soft feminine voice stated to which the cold cloth was pulled away.
I could only wince as the light stung my eyes for the second time.
"I'll grab you a drink just stay put." The voice said again and this time I could make out the faint edges of her portfolio, only it didn't make sense to my brain.
While I could make out the blurry lines of her head, chest and torso there seemed to be a whole nother part of her that almost made it seem like she was walking on her hands and feet even though I could see her hands. This was added to by the soft clop of hooves on carpet that I knew from accidently leaving the door to the house open one night.
I must have hit my head damn hard.
"Here you go. Drink slowly please, you have been out for a long time."
A cup was pced in my hand but the giver didn't release it until she was sure I had a good grip on it.
"Thanks." I tried to say but it came out as more of a gurgle. Like I hadn't spoken in a few days and had decided rock candy was going to be my only sustenance.
Taking a few sips while my vision returned I blinked my eyes to try and clear them. And when I could actually see again my surprise only grew. I found myself sitting on a very well used couch in the middle of a dining room that was eerily simir to my one at home. I almost thought it was but there were a few differences like no pictures on the wall and no lights in the ceiling.
But the most surprising thing definitely had to be the woman that had just given me the gss of water.
She was blond. That was the first thing my mind correctly identified but even then I had to do a double take because of the two ears that pointed to the sky with a matching fur colour. I could have sworn they looked exactly like horse ears just on the wrong type of mammal.
As if noticing my attention on her ears the woman tilted her head to the side in a silent question that looked absolutely adorable. It also had the effect of bringing my attention to her eyes, the soft blue of them reminded me of the sky without clouds.
Her other features looked equally as beautiful but hard to fully make out under the dried mud and soot that clung to her cheeks. I continued to drag my attention down catching her lips in a faint smile that told me she was enjoying the attention untill I got to her chest.
I'd like to say I didn't stare but that would be a complete lie. The twin mounds stood with gravity defying strength and easily looked to be F size even though she wasn't wearing a bra though that might not be giving them the correct attention they deserved. I must have been staring for a while because their owner ughed.
"I'm guessing you haven't seen any this rge before?" The mirth in her tone was undeniable and not at all helped by her cupping one as best she could on one hand and bouncing it.
"No." I said before my mind caught up with my mouth. "I mean sorry, I shouldn't stare."
"Oh I don't mind. So long as I can do the same." She said indicating to my torso.
It was now that I realized I was butt naked and only had a loose bnket around my hips for the illusion of modesty. This was concerning yes but when I caught sight of the six pack of abs and my own chest that that looked like I could bounce a brick off it, I too agreed that it should be looked at. There was also the fact I was definitely not this jacked when I fell down the well so if this was my afterlife of a pleasant dream I was going to make the most of it. How often do you wake up in the body of Hercules?
"I don't mind at all." I absent-mindedly said back.
She ughed in a musical tone that I wanted to hear more of. Her chest also bounced as she did so and that definitely had nothing to do with me wanting her to ugh more. Maybe.
"What's your name?" I asked trying to distract myself and calm down the tent I was starting to pitch. The bnket was doing nothing to hide it after all.
"Zeldi. Livestock of this farm and it's temporary owner. What about you stranger?" She said taking my empty gss from my hand and standing up.
Zeldi, livestock and owner. None of those things made sense to me. Another curveball that got thrown my way was when Zeldi stood up on her hooves.
Yes hooves. I hadn't mistaken her ears when I'd first seen them and I should have looked below her waist but I did get distracted. This distraction caused me to miss the fact Zeldi was half horse or a centaur if my memory servers me.
How I missed her kneeling on the ground beside me in the first pce is a million dolr question.
"Stranger?" Zeldi asked after I hadn't said anything.
Admittedly she was wearing what I could only assume were rags, stitched together to cover her hindquarters and a simir strip around her chest so I couldn't see if it was her and not just someone else underneath pretending but it made a pretty believable sound when she walked.
"Sorry." I apologized yet again and looking into her eyes again instead of her ass. "My names Clovek."
"Cl-ov-ek." She said slowly sounding out each sylble.
I was definitely convinced that underneath the cloth she was a centaur by the way she moved back from the sink and knelt down. There was no way two people could be that coordinated.
"Then mister Clovek with the body of a minotaur. What were you doing sleeping on my nd with a bruise the size of one of my teats on your head?" Zeldi asked while giving me the refilled gss.
I ughed. Can you bme me? None of it made sense. There was no way about world existed at the bottom of my families well and even if there was I wouldn't be given the body of the Wolverine as a gift. Right?
"I think I died." I said truthfully. Or as truthful as I thought I was.
"In my experience dead people don't snore, or talk, and they definitely don't have a reaction like that just from looking at my tits." Zeldi returned pointing at my erection.
I tried to hide it as a blush worked its way through my cheeks but Zeldi stopped me. "I said you could look so long as I can. If you feel that you do not have a good enough view then simply take off what's covering you and I shall do the same."
I went beet red at that, to which Zeldi ughed.
"Oh you are definitely not here to steal my farm mister dead man."
"Steal your farm?" I tried to tch onto that part as it made more sense to me than this centaur woman offering to get naked so long as I did first.
"Yes my farm or more specifically the nd that Leyline Farm exists on." She stopped for a second to gauge my reaction. "You don't know what that is do you?"
I shook my head. "The whole centaur thing is new to me. Some farm is the least of my worries regarding my current predicament."
A sense of understanding crossed Zeldi's features. "You're a Wanderer."
"A what now?"
The centaur woman winced. "You wouldn't happen to be from Pamereta would you?"
"No I'm from Australia." I answered.
Zeldi winced a little harder. "Then I'm sorry it has to be me but please bear with me for this."
I nodded.
"You didn't die, though that won't console you to much as wherever you came from it's impossible to return to. It is believed that when someone from Pamereta is in dire need of help and they wish really hard sometimes. Well sometimes that wish comes true."
I nodded to indicate I was following.
Zeldi whispered this next part like she was afraid of my reaction. "So I may have done just that. I thought it a fairy tale to wish during the full moon but..."
"You are in dire need?" I finished for her.
"Yes. Unfortunately it's not the kind of help you can give me unless you somehow stumbled onto the deed for this farm." Zeldi slumped her shoulders. "Sorry for...."
She was interrupted by the sound of multiple footsteps getting closer and I admit I found the way her ears moved to track the sound utterly adorable. "Oh rail me with a goblins head. Why is she here?"
I was about to ask who but Zeldi was already in motion towards the door. I didn't even get time to tell her I did had the deed.
