"She should be fine," Fleta said after checking the young woman and changing her out of her soaked, elaborate clothing. The young woman had on a yellow dress that seemed to be straight out of a Victorian-era movie, "She's just tired and a bit dehydrated."
"So we can expect her to wake up soon?" Dan said as he kept his eyes on their guest. His eyes also moved to the statue-like Marcus who stood with his hand close to the handgun on his belt.
"Usually, I would say that it won't take long, and we should just wait for her to wake up." Fleta circled the young woman asleep on the medical bed with clear interest.
"But now..." Dan felt that cold woman had something in mind, and he could guess what it might be.
As expected, Fleta raised her hand as a faint green light started shining on her palm.
"But now, I want to try this." With those words, she lowered her hand and touched the young woman's forehead.
"A skill I take it?" Dan questioned, stepping closer to get a better look. the faint green light seemed to seep into the young woman.
"Yes," Fleta nodded, "It's called Rejuvenation. It's supposed to help in situations like these. Now we wait."
And they didn't have to wait long, a minute or so after Fleta used her skill, there was movement from the girl. She groaned as she stirred awake.
"Step back," They heard Marcus's voice, as the well-built man took a step and had them stand behind him. They both retreated without argument, even though it was clear that Fleta didn't approve much of it. But in a world where people had supernatural abilities, judging someone by how harmless they looked wasn't wise.
The girl opened her eyes and looked around in confusion, her brows frowned as she took in what must have been a strange environment. Once she noticed the trio, she froze for a second before releasing a yelp and pushing herself further into the bed.
"Don't worry miss," Fleta said, her cold voice just a tiny bit gentler, "We dragged you from the water, you are safe now."
The young woman still seemed to be in alarm, her eyes jumping between them.
"Where... Where am I?" She finally spoke, her voice trembling and confused.
"You're aboard the Voyager," Dan finally interjected as he stepped up with a gentle smile on his face, "We found you by accident and fished you up. Can you tell us what happened to you?"
"I- we were on a ship heading from Highpoint to Dannyport when we got attacked by pirates. It was- it was..." The girl couldn't keep on speaking as she broke out into sobs. Fleta stepped up and started comforting her. Marcus lifted his arm trying to stop the medical officer, but he lowered it down again without saying a word.
Dan didn't like it, but he honestly felt relief once he heard that it was pirates who attacked them, at least it wasn't a Behemoth.
Dan waited til Fleta calmed the young woman down before asking lightly:
"What is your name miss?"
"Nulara," The young woman answered.
"Nulara," He nodded, "My name is Dan. I'm the captain of the ship you're on. And these two are Fleta, the doctor who nursed you back to health, and Marcus, one of those who picked you from the water."
Nulara looked at the trio in confusion for a second, before something seemed to have finally registered in her mind as she turned to Dan and asked in shock,

"We are still on a ship? This is a ship?" Disbelief and surprise were clear on her face as she looked at the spotless and shining room. Dan even noticed her looking blankly at the lights.
"Yes, we are still at sea," Dan answered offhandedly before continuing into what was important to them, "Can you please tell me what happened to you?"
"...As I said, we were going to Dannyport when we got attacked by those pirates." Nulara gripped the covers of her bed tighter, "at that time I was in my room. I didn't realize what was happening till the end. When they caught up to us and used their ropes to link our two ships. I- I think that we were trying to outrun them but they caught us in the end..."
Seeing how she seemed to be reliving those moments, Dan moved to the close mini fridge that Fleta kept and peeked inside. He knew that the cold-faced doctor had a sweet tooth. And sure enough, he found a bunch of chocolate bars there. As he reached in and took one out, he could feel a pair of eyes drilling holes through the back of his head. Choosing to ignore that, he walked back to Nulara,
"You must be hungry, here take this for now. I will see about having a real meal prepared for you," He said with a natural smile. He liked taking care of his passengers' needs. And whether she liked it or not, Nulara was his responsibility for the time being.
"Thanks..?" Nulara accepted the chocolate bar in confusion, continuing to look at it and then at Dan, as if unsure of what she was supposed to do.
Dan too just looked at her expectantly but Nulara did nothing, she just kept on looking at him and the bar. Hearing a sigh from behind him, he watched as Fleta stepped up to Nulara. Asking for the chocolate bar, Fleta opened it before handing it back to the fascinated girl. Feeling a bit embarrassed at the mishap, Dan cleaned his throat lightly. He then asked as an astonished expression appeared on Nulara's face after she took her first bite,
"What happened next? How were you left drifting at sea?"
"They killed all the guards and most of the crew... I got caught with all the remaining passengers and moved to their ship where I... I had a chance to slip and jump from the ship unnoticed."
Dan noticed Marcus raise an eyebrow at the last part of her words, it was clear that she hadn't told them all that happened. He signalled to the Chief Security Officer to not react and let her continue.
"They then took our Cornerstone before shooting our ship and sinking it. Fortunately, I found a piece of wood and drifted along. I might have been in the water for hours. I can't remember much of what happened before I woke up and found myself here."
"Why would they sink your ship?" Dan questioned. He felt that the other two were letting him lead the conversation, so he went with that, "Wouldn't it be better for them if they got it?"
"I don't know," Nulara shook her head, "They didn't seem to care, didn't even take all the cargo on the ship. They seemed to be more interested in us than they were in it, they might have been slavers."
"Slavers? Are those frequent around here?" Marcus finally interjected, a faint edge to his voice.
"No, these waters are under the protection of the Empire. Pirate attacks have been growing more frequent recently, but I haven't heard about passengers being taken as slaves. Most pirates know better than to poke the Empire, no one would want the King of the Oceans sent after them?"
"The King of the Oceans?" Dan questioned.
"Yeah?" Nulara looked at him uncertainly, wondering if she said something wrong.
"Nothing, just go on..." Dan waved his hands as he decided to keep his comments to himself.
He didn't want to show how ignorant they were of the world. He noticed a few keywords here and there, but not having a natural way to bring them up, he could only let it be.
They then questioned her some more, especially about the location of the nearest port, if she knew where it was and the like. Nulara said that Dannyport was the nearest, but she didn't know where it was exactly, nor where her ship got attacked for the matter. Other than the fact that she knew land was east, she was almost the same as them. They were also able to finally confirm that they were on an ocean, and not a sea.
Just as they were wrapping up their questioning, Dan's radio crackled, frightening the poor young lady.
"Captain," Robert's voice sounded, "You gotta come back, we've got a ship in sight. Well, Keith does anyway. Over."
"A ship?" Dan's eyes went straight to Nulara, just to see that the young lady's face had turned pale.
"This is Marcus," While Dan was still a bit confused about how to react to the news, Marcus stepped up and grabbed the walkie-talkie from his hand, "Can you describe how it looks to me? Over."
"With the screens still offline, I've sent Arnold to see if he can get an eye on it. Wait a bit till he contacts me on that. Over," Robert answered.
A couple of minutes or so later, a reply finally came. "He says that it's a wooden sailing ship, on the smaller side, painted pitch black."
"Is that them?" Marcus asked Nulara.
"Ye- yes," The young lady answered tremblingly.
"We will be there," Marcus replied.
