Dreamweaver nodded. “That is correct. The libraries usually only have simple cultivation techniques, but they are supported by wandering cultivators who also protect and oversee them. Several cultivators even built cultivation academies nearby.”
“Cultivation academies?” Xu Han had never heard of them.
“They are institutions of learning. They are originally schools built by cultivators who failed to enter sects. As you know, not all cultivators managed to enter the sects, most failing to pass the entry tests. In the past, these loose cultivators needed to find their own path, but now there are the academies. The more experienced loose cultivators teach at these academies, and not all their students are those who fail the sects’ entry test. The sects are still around, they are still the favored options of new cultivators, but each year more and more potential cultivators join these academies instead of the sects.”
“Good. Great!” Xu Han felt his spirits lifting, glad that some good had come from his failure.
Dreamweaver gave the dungeon core a nod before adding. “The treasures you left behind upon your death are also highly sought after. The knowledge you infused in them include many lost cultivation arts, and many treasure hunters spend their lives looking for them.”
Xu Han laughed, but his dungeon fairy was still worried. “You’re really not here to kill my core?”
Dreamweaver shook her head, not dignifying the question with an answer.
“Thank you, goddess.” Xu Han quickly cut in, not wanting Jemma to irritate the goddess continue with that line of questioning. “If you are not here to kill me, may I know why you are here then?”
“The same reason the other gods had visited you.” Dreamweaver said as she waved a hand. A stool appeared and the goddess sat down with a huff. “You really should build some furniture for your guests, Xu Han.”
If Xu Han had a face, it would have turned red with embarrassment. “My apologies, Great Goddess. As a dungeon core, I rarely have visitors. My social skills are lacking.”
“Oh! I thought gods have been visiting you quite often. Their visits are how I know that you were reborn in this world.”
“We only had two godly visitors before you. And you haven’t answered the question.” Jemma chipped in.
Xu Han realized his dungeon fairy was beginning to be too used to godly visitors. He’ll need to speak to her on being more respectful to divine beings who could kill them without lifting a finger. Luckily, Dreamweaver was a kindly goddess, and did not take the dungeon fairy’s words to heart.
“Well, I am here because I wish to be a goddess of this world.”
Jemma glanced at Xu Han who gave her the mental go ahead. “You are like Carda, the Lord of Cards.” Jemma said. “You are a foreign god and wish to use my core as a way into this world.”

The Dreamweaver crackled. “I would not say I am using him. My presence, and the Class I shall be introducing will increased the fame of your dungeon core. I am offering a deal, one that is mutually beneficial to both of us.”
“You also want to introduce a new Class?” A shocked Xu Han asked. The Dreamweaver nodded in acknowledgement, but Xu Han still did not understand. “Why come to me? As Gods, surely you and Carda could enter this world on your own? Why go through all the trouble of coming to me to introduce a Class to the adventurers of this world?”
“It is a Heavenly Secret, but I guess I could tell you since I am currently not a member of this world’s gods. It is better for you to know as I would not be the last divine being to come to you.”
For a moment, Xu Han wondered if he really wanted to know a Heavenly Secret, but the moment passed because the Dreamweaver continued.
“As a rule, most worlds reject foreign gods. Different worlds have their own Heavenly Laws, their own Magics, and own sources of Powers. So, foreign gods coming from different worlds are rejected. However, there are always ways to get a world to accept your presence. The rukes are different for each world, but the Will of this world is simple. To be accepted, a foreign god only need to assist the mortals of this world to thrive and survive. And the simplest way to do this is to give a little of your divine power to the Pantheon, which helps govern and runs the System of War and Magic.”
“So, why not do that? Why come to me?” Xu Han asked.
“Because that takes time. A god needs to give power for a few decades before she is accepted by the Will. So, I am looking for a loophole.”
“A Class.” Jemma said in understanding.
“Correct,” the Dreamweaver admitted with a smile, “A Class not only helps the people survive, it also add to the System. With the new Class he introduced, Carda is now one of the Pantheon, skipping decades of work. I wish to do the same.”
Xu Han and Jemma turned their attention to each other. Through their connection, dungeon core and dungeon fairy realized that they came to the same conclusion. Before that, Xu Han has a question for the goddess.
“Goddess, I do not understand. You are well established and well-respected in the Crimson Lands. Why would you be interested in this world?”
The Dreamweaver’s answer was simple. “To get more followers.”
“Why? In the Crimson Lands, the gods never seek more followers. Why is it different here?”
“Merge with new lands, gain more followers, expand your domains, or a combination of them all.” The Dreamweaver gave Xu Han an enigmatic smile. “It is as I’d said. Different worlds have different Heavenly Laws. The Crimson Lands grant immortality, but not power. Just because you are immortal, that does not mean you are powerful. This world grants us power.”
“I don’t understand.” Xu Han said.
“She means that the more people believe in her, the more powerful she becomes.” Jemma answered.
Dreamweaver nodded. “That is how the Will of this world operates. It’s very different from the Crimson Lands, but when you are a guest, you follow the rules of your host.”
The room went silent as Xu Han reeled from the information. When he tried to join the Heavens, he was seeking immortality, to join a higher plane. However, reading between the lines of what Dreamweaver said, Xu Han realized one thing.
Immortality was not everything.
Immortality did not grant power. Immortality was just the start of another race, one where he would had been in competition against other Gods.
Perhaps, it was a good thing that he failed in the Crimson Lands.
Perhaps, being a dungeon core, being the supreme ruler of his small domain was the better existence.
After some time, after he accepted the new revelations given by the goddess, the dungeon core turned his attention to his divine visitor and asked.
“Great Goddess, Xu Han humbly welcome you to the Tomb of Ten Thousand Techniques. May I enquire on what Class you wish to introduce to this world?”
