I could see the change to Bastion instantly, the way it…..his form seemed to shudder at the sudden influx of power. How his form seemed to solidify and even change from what I had originally had him designed ass. Going for a crawling four legged figure to something more creep, fitting his place at the end of the necropolis. The room he was in also seemed to experience a major shift as he did which was rather surprising but considering the energy flooding into I slowly grew from surprised to impressed. The room slowly grew dimmer, dustier, weathered in ways only months or years could bring about. Stalactites began forming at incredible speed from the ceiling, obscuring Bastion far more effectively then his simple hiding, and he was already good at that. The floor began to form cracks and divots where water could flow, and the carvings, while not destroyed, became far more obscured under grime and hanging rock. It was quite the change for just naming a creature and declaring it a boss, though I was beginning to learn names, or true names at least, have some kind of power. Maybe I am a fae masquerading as a dungeon.
While the room changing was a welcome surprise and gave a good feeling of ambiance I was more concerned with the changes to my guardian. Unlike the core that is in Terra or Elisa, which appear to be slow growing additions to their normal bodies, Bastion was both growing a core and experiencing a massive change in his physical form. There is a memory about monster evolution pinging around inside my head but I can’t tell if that is from me being a dungeon, the system, or something from the world I can’t quite remember. I can feel my mind wanting to spiral at that last part, but something keeps me focused for a bit longer as I watch my new boss take form. The guardian crawler design was rough and definitely meant as a stop gap for my first area, it was basic and didn’t have any of the things I wanted a defender to have. This evolution seems to be fixing most of it, though I can notice that it seems to be sidestepping into something I have had no touch in making. There is a slowly encompassing glow around bastion that slowly but surly seems to be obscuring him from view. As I watch the processes I see...well it looks like tearing at the edge of the cocoon of light that quickly nits itself back together. Interesting, especially since it continues to do such a couple of more times, with it tearing and repairing itself multiple times before solidifying.
I watch with baited breath and great anticipation
and wait
and watch
and wait some more.

Eventually my mind wanders a bit and I can see a small alert from the system, as that is the only thing my mind latches onto I give it a once over. Seems that because Bastion is both named and titled, along with there being no record of a higher state of Guardian crawler, he is going to be in there for awhile. Odd considering I thought it was the system that wanted me to give him a name and title, but I can let that fly. More annoyingly it seems it will take a few days for him to mature into a boss, most of which will be spent in this cocoon of light. With that read over and accepted I can suddenly feel a release of pressure in my mind, and all the panicked thoughts try to start up their hurricane of panic all over again. I was mostly sure this was going to happen so I was able to keep my thoughts from spiraling too bad. Though I can attest, that was after about thirty or more minutes of staring into a wall wishing I could bash my head into it.
After that mild tantrum and mental loop of wanting to be back and not knowing where back was I manage to corral my thoughts back to the present. The most important thing right now is that I know my name without a doubt, I thought I knew it, but I also can recognize that I hadn’t had it for awhile. It actually feels like I had known it was there but not what it was, a name shaped hole in my mind I couldn’t recognize until it was filled. I guess when names have power, knowing yours can make you free or some fairy thing like that. All I know right now is that I need to not only work on another area but give someone a name who has been waiting on it for awhile. Since I was nice and since he has been playing nice, I decide he should have his old name back instead of a new one. See isn’t that good and all.
So with that in mind I turn my attention to my living suit of armor that was the eldest heir, he had seemingly found a nice rock to sharpen his rusty sword with while sitting on a not so nice rock. Good for him, now with that out of the way and him looking at where my view was with less hatred then usual I got to work. The first thing was to use some of my earth shaping abilities and my spiders to do a double feature of work. Using earth mana, and guiding it so I turn some of the flat lands of the open open area into a makeshift dirt wall, emphasis on makeshift. It’s meant to look like the earthen works of a long term siege camp so I make sure it looks engineered but put together with limited supplies. Next is to raise up some stakes of earth like pseudo tent poles, since I can’t exactly gather lumber right now. Once the stakes are all set up in a semi circle in the large camp I call on my skeletal spinners. What I tell them to do is on the rather complex side of things so I make sure to impose that there is no need to rush. They are rather clever all things considered, though I realize that is a relative term. My usual denizens just do what I tell them to do or sit around waiting for a fight, so having some creatures with any spark in their eyes that I didn’t personally name is nice to have.
I told them to simply weave tent cloths along the poles and pushed some small images of what I had in mind towards them. Now I can’t say for certain they very much understood it, but they where mana creatures, born from death mana. Needless to say they began at work, though I saw one of them stop and begin doing something odd. I will let them work on it at their own pace considering they are the experts in the field. Though looking over the skeletal spinner description, they are probably not spiders, but maybe they could have been...i don’t really know actually, but they seemed clever. Hopefully this pays out in the long run.
