Chapter 46: If You Want to Fight, Then Fight

Chapter 46: If You Want to Fight, Then Fight

Zhang Yang wasn’t afraid of fighting, but that didn’t mean he could stay relaxed facing seven or eight guards armed with electric batons and control blades—especially with Qiao Xier beside him.

Running wasn’t an option. The entrance was already packed with a crowd of gawking bastards blocking his way out. When that old man was getting beaten, they were all just watching with folded arms. Now that someone who looked fierce had stepped in, they probably just found it more exciting.

Zhang Yang couldn’t help but wonder if his luck was cursed—yesterday he beat three guys and drew a whole gang, today he flattened four and now another pack showed up.

But this wasn’t the time to think. With nowhere to run, he had no choice but to fight. He didn’t grab any weapon—he just lunged straight at the tall, strong guard whose uniform looked different, probably the captain. Behind him, Qiao Xier was dumbfounded, trembling as she hurriedly pulled out her phone to call the police.

But before she could even get through, the situation had flipped dramatically. The guard captain in the special uniform was taken down by Zhang Yang in one move. Zhang Yang had him by the throat, pressed his knee against the man’s back, and snatched away his electric baton. He flicked the switch—blue sparks crackled loudly, and the crowd instinctively backed off several steps in fear.

"If you don’t want your captain to die, then come at me." With a weapon in hand, Zhang Yang finally felt some confidence. Baton against baton—who’s scared of who? Once this thing touched you, no matter how tough you were, you’d curl up like a shrimp.

The remaining guards were dumbfounded. Their captain was a trained fighter—if they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they’d think he and this kid were faking it. The kid’s move was so simple: a dodge, a twist of the wrist sliding under the captain’s armpit, one leg between his, a quick trip—and then his arm naturally looped around the neck while his knee pinned the man’s ribs.

The entire motion was smooth as flowing water, so fast it was almost impossible to follow, as if he had practiced it a thousand times.

"Let go of Captain Wen, or we’ll make you pay!" a fat guard finally reacted, brandishing his blade and shouting loudly—but his feet didn’t move an inch.

Zhang Yang glanced at him, tightened his elbow slightly, making the guard captain groan in pain, then sneered, "Your sister, you think I’m stupid? If I let him go, you’ll just chop me to pieces. If you want your boss to live, drop your weapons now."

"Fuck, damn it, Dong Er! Make them drop their weapons already!" The pinned-down captain was in so much pain that tears streamed down his face. When he saw Zhang Yang flicking the baton switch right in front of his eyes, the sparks popping, he got so scared he pissed himself, screaming and flipping the bird at the fat guy on the side.

"Brother Wen, I… uh." The fat guard looked at the few brothers lying on the ground, most of them dislocated—this pretty boy was ruthless. If they really dropped their weapons, maybe he’d take them all down alone.

But if they didn’t drop them, their boss might literally shit himself next.

While he hesitated, three men in black suits came rushing out of the building. From their clothes alone, it was obvious they weren’t ordinary staff.

When they saw the scene, they were so shocked their jaws nearly fell off. These idiots—ten-plus men beaten by one guy! They had planned to come down and clean up the mess, not walk into this disaster.

"What’s going on here?" The bearded man leading the trio glared at the fat guard and asked sternly.

The fat man glanced at the bearded one nervously and pointed at Zhang Yang. "Minister He, it’s this guy. He came here to cause trouble—he even hurt four of our men… and Captain Wen…"

He pointed at the captain lying limp under Zhang Yang’s knee, his face showing a bit of pity—they were from the same hometown.

Minister He looked like he was seeing the captain for the first time. He glared at Zhang Yang and shouted, "You bold bastard! How dare you cause trouble at our Bai Group? Do you have a death wish? Release Captain Wen immediately!"

He was yelling and gesturing, but he didn’t dare take a step closer.

Zhang Yang sneered and said, "Are you an idiot? Who’s the one causing trouble here?" He waved the baton in his hand, then pointed at the machete the fat man was holding. "Are you guys gangsters? Don’t you know both electric batons and blades are restricted weapons? And you’re using them openly."

"Heh, you still talking tough? You think you can reason with me?" The bearded man laughed coldly. "Dong Er, what are you waiting for? Grab him!"

The fat man, Dong Er, froze and pointed at the guard captain on the ground, shrinking back. "Minister He, Captain Wen’s still in his hands."

Hearing that, Minister He snapped furiously, "Bullshit! Go get him! If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility. I don’t believe he’ll dare harm Wen Long!"

As soon as he said that, Captain Wen freaked out, kicking his legs and shouting, "Dong Er, don’t you dare! Minister He, tell them to stop! Don’t let them mess around!"

"Don’t worry, Captain Wen. That pretty boy wouldn’t dare hurt you. Relax. The pain you’ve suffered—I’ll make him pay back a hundredfold." Minister He gave him a cold glance and said calmly.

Hearing their back-and-forth, Zhang Yang finally understood—seemed like there was some serious tension between Minister He and this Captain Wen. Great, now he was caught in the middle of their bullshit. Damn it.

"Dong Er, move your ass! You want me to fire you?" Minister He barked impatiently.

Dong Er looked down at Captain Wen, gritted his teeth, and shouted, "Brothers! How can we let anyone mess around at Dengyuan Building? Get him!"

He raised his machete and charged forward first.

The others looked at each other with hesitation and didn’t move. Before the fat man could reach Zhang Yang, a flash of blue sparks met his chest—he hadn’t even been hit yet when a surge of paralyzing electricity spread through his whole body.

He screamed as the current knocked him flat, twitching on the ground, unable to move.

Everyone, including Minister He, was stunned. None of them had even seen Zhang Yang move. The strike was perfectly controlled—the fat man was just knocked down, not seriously hurt. He struggled a bit on the ground, then scrambled up, not daring to touch the machete again.

Zhang Yang pulled back the baton, turned it off, and tapped it lightly on Captain Wen’s face. "Heh, you should be thanking me. If it weren’t for me, that Minister guy would’ve gotten you killed."

Captain Wen was drenched in sweat but could only nod repeatedly. He finally understood—this pretty boy was untouchable. Whoever crossed him was doomed.

Zhang Yang now felt a stronger sense of confidence. The fight just proved how practical and powerful his Advanced Combat Technique was. Against these guys, he could easily hold his own.

The only pity was, knocking out the fat man and the captain didn’t earn him any system points. That proved one thing—he could only gain points if the target had committed a serious wrongdoing first.

"I’ll let you off today." Figuring these people weren’t a real threat, Zhang Yang didn’t want to drag things out. He released the captain, holding the baton as he sneered at Minister He while slowly backing away.

Watching Zhang Yang walk off so boldly, none of them dared step forward. One by one, they glanced at Minister He and retreated a few steps.

"Useless bastards," Minister He growled coldly, glaring at his men. He didn’t dare move either. But just as Zhang Yang tossed the baton aside and was about to leave, two police cars came screeching up, stopping right next to Qiao Xier’s R8.

The doors flew open, and three policemen with four auxiliaries rushed over. Seeing them, Minister He’s face lit up as he shouted, "Chief Zhang, you’re here! Don’t let that kid escape!"

As he spoke, he pointed straight at Zhang Yang.

Zhang Yang hadn’t even reacted yet when he found a gun barrel aimed at him. A pale-faced young officer shouted, "On your knees! Hands up!"
