Chapter 19: The Arrogant Beauty Qiao

Chapter 19: The Arrogant Beauty Qiao

Meining University was definitely a place full of beauties. Among the several officially recognized campus goddesses, in Zhang Yang’s eyes as a homebody, Yang Fei was undoubtedly the most famous. But since she was now a teacher, if we were talking about current students, Qiao Xier would easily rank among the top three.

The Qiao Xier in front of him had changed out of her serious black dress, and Zhang Yang was dazzled at once. Her shoulder-baring skirt, brown sunglasses, and tall, curvy figure with her chest’s two proud peaks—she looked like a supermodel, not a student at all.

Fortunately, her signature ponytail was still there, so Zhang Yang was sure he hadn’t mistaken her. Just as he was about to say hello, his view was blocked by a bunch of animals. The guys who had been loitering by the security office watching the commotion had abandoned that and turned their heads to stare at Qiao Xier getting out of the car, pretending to admire the luxury vehicle while sneaking peeks at her long white legs and those full, almost bursting curves.

You could even hear sounds like “oh,” “mm,” “ah,” “ohh,” and the swallowing of saliva.

“Hey, Junior Sister Qiao.” Bai Gang pushed through the crowd, brushed his hair back, as if he’d forgotten all about getting beaten by Zhang Yang, and smiled awkwardly while greeting her.

In school, talking to a famous campus beauty was something to brag about. Bai Gang fancied himself somewhat familiar with Qiao Xier, so of course he wouldn’t miss the chance to show off.

She glanced at him, frowned, and looked at him like he was some kind of strange creature. “What is it?” she asked coldly.

Bai Gang was stunned, his face instantly losing color. But his skin was thick; he forced a smile and said obsequiously, “Hehe, just saying hi. By the way, Junior Sister, you rarely dress like this—special occasion today?”

“If there’s nothing, get out of the way.” Before he could finish, Qiao Xier interrupted sharply, frowning, and didn’t even look at him as she clacked past in her LV heels.

  “Uh…”

She was wearing high heels, and at around 1.75 meters tall, while Bai Gang, though muscular, was only about 1.7. Standing next to her, he looked almost a head shorter. The contrast was glaring. Being brushed aside like that made his face burn with shame and anger; his blood boiled, and he nearly spat blood.

If it had been anyone else, Bai Gang would’ve exploded, but this was Qiao Xier. He didn’t dare say a word. Anyone bold enough to drive a three-million-yuan sports car into campus clearly wasn’t someone to mess with.

“Fuck!” Bai Gang felt like a rake had plowed through his heart. Watching her walk past, her rounded hips swaying under that short skirt, he swallowed hard, his throat making a loud gulping sound.

Just like Yang Fei, this kind of woman was way out of his league. All he could do was fantasize. If she even said a word to him, that was already giving him face.

“Huh… huh? Zhang Yang, there you are! What are you doing here?”

Just as Bai Gang was clutching his chest in frustration, he heard a voice that nearly made him fall on his ass. The arrogant Qiao Xier suddenly started waving her white LV bag wildly, calling out loudly to Zhang Yang buried in the crowd. The way she was doing it looked more like a streetwalker calling for clients.

“What the hell is this?” Bai Gang’s eyes went wide. She’d looked at him like a dog, but she was all smiles with Zhang Yang? That was infuriating.

“Ah, it’s a long story. You free? Need a favor.” Zhang Yang was a bit surprised that she greeted him, though her outfit made him more surprised—she looked like she was headed to a gala.

“Sure, what do you need me for?” Under the stunned gaze of the surrounding bystanders, Qiao Xier walked right up to him, her beautiful eyes flickering mischievously as she added, “Just don’t ask for anything that involves my body parts.”

“Ahem… could you give me a ride to Zhongshan Hospital?” Zhang Yang looked at her limited-edition R8. If he left with Qiao Xier, the gang at the school gate would definitely ignore him.

Qiao Xier looked him up and down, frowned, and asked, “No problem. What are you going there for?”

Zhang Yang gave her a glance. “Got something to take care of. If you’re busy, forget it.”

“Of course I’m free. Just asking.” Qiao Xier shrugged and walked back toward her R8, glancing at the crowd of gawking guys by the security office. “Why are there so many people here? Is there a concert?” she asked suspiciously.

Under countless jealous stares, Zhang Yang got into the car. He glanced at the still-stunned Bai Gang and said calmly, “Just some nonsense. Nothing big.”

Qiao the Beauty gave him a look, clearly dissatisfied with his vague answer, but started the car anyway. With a loud vroom, the R8 shot forward, the force pinning Zhang Yang’s upper body back.

Zhang Yang turned his head to look at her. Damn, this woman drove like a maniac—and inside the school, no less.

“So, what nonsense?” Qiao the Beauty asked, putting on her Bluetooth headset, smoothly exiting the campus and heading straight for Zhongshan Hospital.

“Annoying stuff.” Zhang Yang rubbed his neck—it had gotten a little sore from beating Bai Gang earlier. “I got expelled.”

“Oh.” Qiao Xier replied casually. “Wait… expelled?”

Still speeding, she suddenly slammed the brakes. Tires screeched against the pavement, and since Zhang Yang hadn’t buckled up, he lurched forward, almost smashing into the windshield.

Zhang Yang turned his head speechlessly. Riding in her car was a death wish.

“You got expelled?” Qiao Xier ignored the traffic, turned to stare at him wide-eyed like he was an alien. “When did this happen?”

“Just now.” Zhang Yang reached into his pocket, trying to find the withdrawal notice—but it was gone.

“What happened?” For once, Qiao the Beauty looked serious, sitting upright with both hands off the wheel, as if about to discuss some profound research topic.

Zhang Yang’s face darkened. He pointed to the rearview mirror. Behind them, a long line of honking cars had formed, and several drivers were shouting curses in the local dialect.

  “Fuck you!” “Bullshit!”

“Senior Sister… maybe we should move first?”

Qiao Xier glanced in the mirror, snorted, then slammed the accelerator. The car shot forward, swerved across the double yellow line, and performed a full 360-degree drift, then sped back toward Meining University.

“Hey—hey! I need to go to Zhongshan Hospital!” Thankfully he hadn’t eaten breakfast; otherwise, Zhang Yang would’ve puked for sure. He was already regretting getting into her car—he’d rather have taken a beating from those thugs.

Qiao Xier clearly didn’t care about his suffering. Hearing his shout, she slammed the brakes again.

“Oh right, you needed to go to Zhongshan Hospital.” She peeked at the mirror, spun the wheel, and did a U-turn right over the double yellow line, then sped off again. “So, what’s the reason for the expulsion?”

Zhang Yang ignored her, quickly fastened his seat belt, and nervously gave her the short version.

After listening, Qiao Xier hit the brakes again. Zhang Yang flinched—thankfully they weren’t on the main road. “Senior Sister, seriously… how did you even get your driver’s license?”

She gave him a glance, ignoring his jab, and frowned. “So all of this was that bastard Bai Gang’s doing?”

Zhang Yang looked innocent and nodded. “Of course. I’m an honest, hardworking student.”

“Damn, that Bai Gang already fooled me once before. Let’s go back and beat him till his parents can’t recognize him!” Qiao the Beauty clenched her fists, instantly believing Zhang Yang’s pitiful act. After all, someone capable of proposing the NTF chain model that even academicians admired—of course he looked like a nerd.

Zhang Yang’s eyes widened. This crazy woman really looked ready to go back and wreck Bai Gang.

He’d already beaten Bai Gang once—doing it again wouldn’t be new. What he really cared about now was Xu Danlu, so he hurriedly said, “Forget it, forget it. Just take me to the hospital first.”

Qiao the Beauty gave him a surprised look, as if to say, “You’re surprisingly patient.” But she didn’t ask further and floored the accelerator again.

The wind whipped across Zhang Yang’s face like a dull knife—painful but oddly refreshing. He turned to glance at Qiao Xier’s calm profile. Damn, this woman was stunning enough to make anyone drool.

When they arrived at the hospital entrance, Zhang Yang spotted the anxious Xu Danlu. He quickly thanked Qiao Xier and got out, hurrying toward Xu Danlu. Qiao Xier followed behind, muttering sarcastically, “Oh, meeting a beauty, huh? No wonder you were in such a rush—you didn’t even care about being expelled.”

She didn’t mean much by it, but Xu Danlu, already puzzled by Zhang Yang’s flashy arrival, was instantly suspicious. When did this guy get acquainted with such a glamorous woman driving a sports car? And judging by their tone, they seemed familiar. Hearing Qiao Xier’s offhand comment, she immediately pressed Zhang Yang, “What do you mean, expelled?”
